Every time I see chandeliers I am reminded of climbing up on the dining table and taking each and every crystal off the chandelier including the candle sleeves. Then washing them in the sink with vinegar and water, laying them out on a towel and drying each piece. Then once hug again the gleem was stunning. Imagine a kid loving this job. LOL 😂 I think I was about 5 when I started doing the job, up until I got married and moved out into my own home. I'd actually would love to be able to do it again, as I found it a calming and satisfying job. 🥰
Hi Patrick and Stuart. That is a magnificent chandelier. The cuts and facets are beautiful. I give you a lot of credit because there is No Way I could ever put it back together. But of course being a Baccarat it Must be preserved! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your post. It's wonderful that you're bringing this chandelier back to life. I hope you find all of the pieces you require to reassemble it. Thank goodness you pulled apart the fireplace and caught the damage before there was a tragic loss. It's quite a responsibility looking after a chateau! Definitely not for the faint of heart. Take care, both of you!
Hugs Aviva. Love your comment. The chandelier is a labour of love and the fireplace, a labour of responsibility. We are grateful that there are amazing people who enjoy seeing our work come together. Thank you ❤❤❤
Loved the Jane Austen reference! And such a beautiful chandelier. Great to know that these things can be saved & you guys can do most of the work yourself! ❤
Thank you Tina. I’m so happy that we might be able to resort chandeliers and then sell them to help restore the chateau. 😂. Later….. I know. 😊. I wonder who many people knew it was a Jane Austen reference?!? 😂. Hugs and ❤❤❤
Hi Patrick, One of the reasons that I enjoy watching your vlogs is that your personality and your ability to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear reminds me SO MUCH of my mom. Like her, you BOTH have such talent for fixing things!!! You just said “Patience is not my middle name” however, I think that you are VERY patient. Anyway, I mean these comments as a high compliment to you! My mom should have been an architect or interior designer. She was self taught! Also, I sure love your dogs!!! Elizabeth in Texas
My dear Elizabeth. What a huge compliment indeed. ❤❤❤. Thank you very much. It does feel great to being able to do these projects and being self taught. We very much appreciate your feedback. Love from Colombe 💗💕💗
You are very patient Patrick, despite saying you’re not😊 taking the chandler apart, repairing it an slowly putting it back together again. I love projects like that. Have a lovely evening ❤️😊👋
Patrick - you claim patience is not your middle name but I beg to differ. It takes incredible patience to restore such an intricate chandelier. Props to Tony and Stuart for all their work too - you all make a great team!
Thank you Anna. OK, I have to admit that I have learned a bit of patience by gardening….. 😮😊😮. I love your comment ❤. And we really are a great team. Hugs 😊
Hi Patrick and Stuart, I love the chandelier and the discovery that it is Baccarat crystal. It will look great in any room in the Chateau. Enjoy it you both deserve it. Mark & Scott
So happy you investigated the fireplace and now you will be 100% certain that it is safe! The chandelier is beautiful - you have so much patience Patrick, I could never do it. Thank you for the updates!
It’s like being in an Agatha Christie’s mystery, The Broken Chandelier. I’m sure you will repair this into a beautiful piece for the Chateau. I’m always amazed and pleased with your finds and restorations project. ❤😊
Thank you Meredith. Love the Agatha idea! Just got Audible The man in the brown Suit and They came do Bagdad. Lovely. Can’t wait to get the chandelier up. Soooo excited. Hugs. 💗💖💗
Oh fun! A beautiful shining chandy is worth all the effort! Looking forward to the finish. The chateau is more beautiful and updated for modern comfort every time we see you. You guys are nothing short of terrific!
Those baccarat crystal chandeliers are beautiful and I’m so happy you will have one gracing your chateau. Patrick, you are so good at repairing and re-wiring them. Sometimes it works having someone else to figure out the pattern of crystals. I’m glad Stuart figured it out. The work you are doing in the fireplace and chimney is probably more necessary than anything else, because you’ll be toasty warm this winter with peace of mind that everything is fire safe. Stay well and many hugs. ❤❤❤
Thank goodness for Stuart who sorts out methodically all your difficulties Patrick. You need a little gnome to keep an eye on you when Stuart has got his back turned. You have done a wonderful job of restoring the chandelier as usual which looks lovely. Great job guys
The chandelier is going to be wonderful after your patience cleaning, repairing and rewiring it Patrick. There is a lot to a chandelier. Even though I always dreamed of having one in our home... 😉The 2nd set of hands from Stuart is helpful. it takes two to lift the bigger ones. I love my single large, heavy, thick crystal, or maybe just cut and etched glass, light bowls about c1912, I believe we have 4 original in the house. Hubby has to climb up to unscrew lift them down, I take them and tip the flies out, wash and dry them, hand them back to hubby to put it back up. A tad simpler than a chandelier, but very heavy.☺ I do love your new chandelier, it will be lovely once everything is repaired and broken crystals replaced. Ronnie in Saskatchewan
Hi guys, That chandelier will be georgeous. Thanks, Tony, for your help. Hopefully, you will receive the missing pieces you require. The fireplace should be an interesting watch, as well. I am certain the petite salon will be clean and beautiful again soon. Just imagine how cozy the fireplace will be during the colder months and Christmas. I look forward to it. It has been pouring buckets here lately and cold. It isn't winter yet, but it feels like it. Terry gave you a nice shout-out today on their channel. It is awesome that you all support each other. Take care and see you Friday. Mask up when out. The flu and covid season are on the increase again. Cheers.❤
😂😂😂. Herzlichen Dank und liebe Grüße von Colombe ❤❤❤
Its so interesting and cheering to watch the blogs & hear all about the progress and Stuart keeping Patrick "on topic" with cheery funny quipes, beautiful smiles and raised eyebrow expression - thank you and good luck sourcing the chandelier parts. 👍
You are miracle worker with chandeliers Patrick...it's going to be a beauty. So glad you found the problem with the fireplace before it became a possible disaster. I don't want any harm to come to you great guys. It sends shivers just thinking about any disasters! See you on Friday!
I have been so very much enjoying your videos. Your enthusiasm , patience and laughter at tackling your projects is quite infectious. The chandelier project reminds me of my grandmother. I have kept most of the bobeche that she acquired over the years. It is quite the collection. Again, thank you from NJ.
Thank you for your kind words. Made me smile. That is amazing! Your grandmother acquiring them and you still having the chandelier drip dishes. Fantastic! Hugs from Colombe 😊❤
Patience is not my thing, I would be hopelessly overwhelmed. Patrick, however, gets to work straight away. How quickly the chandelier was dismantled. I am really excited to see what it will look like when it is finished. Wonderful work. Tony and Stuart are also really good helpers, a really good team. 💜
You work so well together...its a beautiful chandelier. Just when you think you have a room finished...but... Having the 2 fireplaces in working order will be so nice and cosy for you. ❤
What a wonderful idea, restoring chandeliers.. definitely will be great income towards the Chateau. May I say you're both looking good in this video, loving the sweaters. Good job opening fireplace, 2 steps forward, one step back 😂😂
How fantastic to discover the the chandelier is from Baccarat! Your restoration skills and Stuart's sourcing magic (with Tony's technical abilities) will certainly guarantee a magnificent final result. Looking forward to it!! 🥰🥰🥰
Oh dang it- I just missed the live by a couple of minutes! ( Hallowe’en concert at the school). 🎃👻 The chandelier looks amazing- can’t wait to see it hung and all lit up! Patrick, you are so patient handling and polishing all those crystals, that you are forgiven for going all ham on the fireplace! Stuart, why did you leave Patrick unsupervised?? Good old Tony to the rescue again. Great episode today, so sorry I missed it. ❤️🍁😘
Hugs Rita. Have fun! ❤❤❤. The chandelier is fantastic and we are such a great team. This repair for the metal I might have attempted……. But Tony is a master! 😊😂😊. Stuart heard a noise and it was to late….. 😳🤯🤣. But it was a good to discover the security concerns. It will be safe and more energy efficient. Love from Colombe 😊
Dear Patrick, you have the patience of a saint to do all the fiddly work on that chandelier! I’m afraid I couldn’t stand it! 🤣😂 However the baccarat chandelier will be spectacular finished. And I have my fingers crossed that you can repair the family light fitting. What a wonderful idea to try to repair it. It must have a lot of sentimental value to your family and what an appropriate home for it at your chateau. I’m amazed that the parts are still around considering its age. I always enjoy your videos as the two of you have such a jolly sense of humour. ( I’m guessing that there may be a lot of cursing behind the scene on occasion 😂🤣) Hugs to you both from Oz! ❤️❤️🐨
Hi guys, loving watching you work on yet another puzzle. Patrick I really hope Tony can help you with your family heirloom. These things are important. Take care both of you.
You are so right Patrick - this Chandelier is STUNNING!! I noted you saying the first bit you unscrewed at the top stopped the main stem unscrewing when you turned the Chandelier. As I think I mentioned on a previous vlog of yours, I was busily turning one of my lounge chandeliers to reattach the crystals after cleaning them when suddenly it crashed to the floor! Yes, you guessed, it was unscrewing from the ceiling plate.😓 I did manage to buy replacement crystals and globes some time later.
Glad you two and Tony are able to figure this beauty out. It's like making a puzzle without the picture on the box cover 😜. I bet you will have more pride in this lovely because it was more difficult and challenging to bring her back to her original glory, well done❣ Hugs to all and stay well.
My dear Ina. I think you are right. This was truly a big restoration. Or still is…. 😮😂😮. We are really proud of what this will be. 💗💕💗. Thank you so much ❤
Love how you took it all apart and put it all back together and no extra Parts. ❤️ 🤲 😁 😀 Hopefully you will get the fireplace working before really cold weather comes. Such a beautiful room will be nice and cozy.
What a gorgeous chandelier! Those "flower" shaped pieces are something I haven't seen before! Tony did a great job soldering those metal pieces in place :) As always, Stuart does a great job editing!
Hello my Darling Stuart and Patrick, loving the vlog. I really love the amount of different content that you show. The chandelier is definitely going to be a difficult bit of restoration for you both. It will be perfect in the Petit salon. When it is hanging up lit up nobody will be able to see if there are things that are not perfect . “ The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity “ Alberto Giacometti Love and hugs to you both. 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇮
The chandelier is beautiful and now that you determined it’s Baccarat even more valuable with quality crystal. Patrick, you are amazing at restoring chandeliers and I’m not sure where you acquired that knowledge., especially the electrical aspect. Take care my friends, Ralph Rocchiccioli
Held by a button, that’s hilarious. Such a beautiful chandelier, you have such patience to put this back together, I love these sorts of challenges. Love to you both K🇬🇧❤️❤️
Hello Kim. Thank you very much. It was indeed a button 🤣😂🤣. How creative. It is such a pretty chandelier and we really enjoy that we can restore them. A great team effort 😊. Love from Colombe ❤
Late again watching you two great guys! Home recovering from knee replacement, lots of visitors come to check on me. I sure tell them about my favourite chateau UA-cam program.
😂😊😂. Absolutely true. That’s me. This time, I was really surprised and happy to have found an issue that could have caused a huge problem. Normally, I am just silly. 😂😂😂. Huge hugs
My hands and artists' mind absolutely itch to bring your FANTASTIC chandelier back to its former glory! How many hours and how much talent and imagination did it take to create this beauty? Thank you for sharing its restoration. Hugs from Michigan ❤
Isn’t it amazing how a chandelier can stimulate our imagination and creativity. It will have been at least 20 hours and a lot of joy (and a bit frustration). 😂😂😂. Looking forward to putting it up! 🎉🎉🎉.
@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 I will be thrilled to see it hanging in your petite salon! You have a very precious appreciation for beauty, as does Stuart. Thank you again for sharing!
What an amazing chandelier! I know it’s going to be stunning. And what fun that you’ve found a new future side-line that you both enjoy working on together and enjoy, each doing their part and balancing the other. You are a great team, and a great couple. ♥️ I wonder whether one of you will take welding classes from Tony. 😉 Oh dear on the fireplace, but it’s great that you found out about it now rather than later, and that it’ll be permanently fixed… in so far as anything in an old place is ever permanently fixed. 😉
If I haven't remember to say so, the wallpaper in the Petite Salon is a favourite of mine. I wish I had a room that I could put it in. And thank you for the surprise Figgy video. He is so lucky to have found you both. Although he probably thinks that you are lucky to have found him...
Wow, what another great video U2 should name yourselves the dynamic duo. I call you my honey bunnies but literally you guys are dynamic duo Tony soldering did a great job. I cannot wait to see it finished when you said bear with Patrick I thought oh dear, we may need to bring in an elk too, but you seem to get it done .Patrick you do have a lot of patience, Stewart you do a good job videoing him. At least you’ve got record of what happened. I love seeing a little glimpse of one of my fur babies they’re always around and watching what you do that’s why I love them so much take care. Have a good day and again thank you for making our afternoon so fun. Love to you both and thank Tony for you help bye.
Oh Ruth….. thank you so much ❤. What a great comment. I love it. Dynamic Duo! Fantastic. I have finally learned to have patience. Hurrah 🎉🎉🎉🎉. And our supervisors….. we love them and appreciate them looking in on us when we work. Sending you love and hugs from Colombe 😊❤
Thank you so much. I learned patience over the years. Gardening and our pooches helped me to be a better person. Love your comment. ❤😊❤. Greetings from Colombe
stunning! i don't know how you remember where everything goes. I know it is all recorded but you just get at it (unless it is the magic of editing and you stop to refer to the dismantling part of the video for reference)
Hi sweeties. I'm impressed that you know where all the crystals go. Tony is such a magician. He can fix almost anything. The chandelier will look beautiful I the petit salon. Will you keep the inside of the fireplace straight or as it was before? It will be so nice to warm the petit and grand salon. Better for furniture and textiles. Hugs and kisses also for the furries and Figaro. 🥰😘🐕🐈
Hi guys, I thought it was just me who stuck out my tongue when I’m concentrating…Patrick.. 🤣🤣 absolutely beautiful chandelier! And a brilliant job done restoring it! I don’t wait for things well either 😂 but will be worth by it in the end and the log burners will be the best thing you have done… even if it doesn’t feel like it right now 😂🙈 love to you both ❤

A baccarat chandelier, 1800 something. Wow. What a find.
Thank you ❤❤❤

It’s stunning 🤩 🤩🤩🤩🤩
If I ever steal the Hope Diamond, I know where I'm hiding it... nobody would spot it in that chandelier. Beautiful.
🤣❤️
Just don’t let me know….. I’d be tempted to sometimes wear it 😂❤😂.
@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452you would make that diamond look good....❤
Well, the Hope diamond is blue, so maybe that won’t work! 🤣😂
@ I remember looking at that marvel. Want it the recut blue diamond of the French kings?

That is absolutely true! ❤. Perfect description 💕💕💖💖💕💕
Gorgeous find!! It will be lovely when it's complete and up! Plus, its so satisfying to look back later and say "I resurrected that"! Bravo💕

❤😊
Thank you so much no cannot wait to heat the salons and being blue sitting in a warm room and it Haley’s to keep the chateau dry. Huge hugs😊
Gosh! You have lots of patience Patrick to piece together that Chadelier. Cool how Tony calls and repairs part of it for you.
Enjoyed seeing the “deconstruction” to understand the zillion pieces it takes to construct a chandelier of that size!
I’ve never seen anything like the star/flowers on the chandelier, surely they’re unique.
We haven’t either. They have a silver back etching. This is really amazing. Hugs ❤❤❤
Amazed at your patience! The chandelier is certainly looking beautiful after your work. Can’t wait to see it fully restored and hanging in place. 😊
Oh fun! A beautiful shining chandy is worth all the effort! Looking forward to the finish. The chateau is more beautiful and updated for modern comfort every time we see you. You guys are nothing short of terrific!

You can do it Patrick. You do great restorations. This is a beautiful piece. Wow this quite the undertaking.
It's incredibly satisfying, cleaning and restoring a chandelier, I've done a few now, but not quite as beautiful as that one xx
😂 Who left me alone? Love ❤️ your sense of humor 😂
Beautiful, looks like a crystal puzzle just waiting for the pleasure of gracing the petite salon!
Late again watching you two great guys! Home recovering from knee replacement, lots of visitors come to check on me. I sure tell them about my favourite chateau UA-cam program.

@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 I will be thrilled to see it hanging in your petite salon! You have a very precious appreciation for beauty, as does Stuart. Thank you again for sharing!
Patrick, I laughed at your comment “Who left me alone”
Wow, it’s so impressive how you have developed your skills. Well done. What a beautiful chandelier.💕❤️💕
Both of your sweater look nice! That chandelier is gorgeous! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Oh dear on the fireplace, but it’s great that you found out about it now rather than later, and that it’ll be permanently fixed… in so far as anything in an old place is ever permanently fixed. 😉
If I haven't remember to say so, the wallpaper in the Petite Salon is a favourite of mine. I wish I had a room that I could put it in. And thank you for the surprise Figgy video. He is so lucky to have found you both. Although he probably thinks that you are lucky to have found him...
Chandler is amazing 👏, and the talent between you both is wonderful ❤️
No good deed goes unpunished, Patrick. The chandelier is beautiful. Great find.
Going to be beautiful when all done. How is your kitty doing ..thank you for sharing your life with all of us.

Always enjoy watching your work.
Thank you so much Lynn. ❤❤❤❤
Just so BEAUTIFUL love it, great job.
stunning! i don't know how you remember where everything goes.
Wow good job! Well done
Thank you for sharing the process. I learned so much❣️
