Hi Vivian. Just watched this video. We were the family of 6 in the background while you were filming at Chateau Lalande. We follow your channel and Lalande religiously. We are from Mississipi and were spending our Thanksgiving holiday in France and drove to see LaLande in person. I saw you and Simon filming and told my wife that it was you. She did not think I was correct. She is smiling and laughing excitedly after watching your post tonight. Thank you so much!!
@@carolwest6095 No. It was a couple of days before Thanksgiving. We bought a star and hoped we could see inside but they were keeping it closed until the public viewing. We did get to meet Percy, Isabelle and Galahad. They were extremely nice and gracious.
@@barbaragrace1992 Actually Natalia and I had been emailing prior to our trip to France and she said it would be fine to come by and walk around. She met us at the parking area and then Percy and Isabelle came out too. They made us feel very welcome!
Hi Mark!!! I’ve just seen your lovely comment and also realised that you must be the Mark who just bought the beautiful Marie Antoinette hand painted brooch that I’m mailing today! (I hope I don’t spoil the surprise for anyone 😉). I do wish you had stopped and said “hello”! We don’t expect everyone at Lalande to know who we are, but we’re so delighted to meet people when we are there. There are often workers or chapel-restorers floating about, so one never knows who’s who! I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving in France. Mississippi is dear to my heart I spent my early years in nearby Memphis. Sending you and your family big hugs. I do hope we can meet next time!!! xxx 🏰💖🏰💖
Every time you vloggers bring us to the grocery store, it absolutely underscores the food desert we suffer in rural U.S. If anyone here is not in a major metropolitan area (I include your entire state of Florida as a major metropolitan area), the grocery stores suck. I have to drive 2 hours in one direction to Memphis, or 2 hours to Birmingham or 4 hours to Jackson, MS to find a store with produce that beautiful. So, I did the next best thing and opened a mail-order jar of French chestnuts (and ate the whole jar) whilst watching you prepare that glorious Thanksgiving dinner a continent away. Cheers to all of you! Recipes would be appreciated if you get round to it. Your cherry spin on the cranberry sauce looked really good.
I have to agree with you, the grocery stores here in Saskatchewan are awful. The cheeses are what I covet most. So much of what we buy has to be returned the next day when it is supposed to last for a week. The joys of living in North America.
I moved to Lyon France arrived on the 29 of October 1991 and moved back to the U.S February 1999. Entertain my first Thanksgiving November 1991 for 4 people to thank them for helping me that first month. By the time I left the last Thanksgiving I had 32 people. Had to order the Dinde at the hall 1 month in advance. Ended up having about 12 exchange students from the colleges. Your bean casserole looked fabulous. 8eme Decembre my favorite day 8n Lyon the Feast of Lumiere! Let the holiday season begin!

Hi Vivienne, Your lovely personality always shines through on your vlogs!! You seem like such a giving, gracious lady!! I loved watching you and Marie prepare the American Thanksgiving dinner. Elizabeth in Texas
I just love your vlogs because you and your family and friends seem so lovely and nice. I hope that you and Manor and Maker get a lot more subscribers, you are worth it! Hugs from Sweden 🤗.
I do not write often on your channel, but I want to thank you for taking us along with you on your two special visits. To Patrick and Stuart, who I have followed since they began their journey. And the La Lande family I think is everyone's favourite, I am smitten with their chapel. Thank you for sharing your friends and your visits with me. Watching each chateau being renovated, and being enjoyed by everyone, fills me with joy. I began watching 'Doing it ourselves' and have slowly added more channels. Often staying up very late, or should that be early, as it is often three or four in the morning by the time I catch up with everyone and get to sleep. Good night and thank you again. Vivienne and Simon, you feel like family to me, too! I quite enjoyed your Thanksgiving visit to Lalande to add a bit of authentic Americana to the festive diner. ❤
It is such a joy watching such a delightful and caring family. You all exude what all humanity should try to be. Thank you for sharing with all of us. I so love when all the Chatelaines come together, it is always a treat!! ❤
Beautiful Thanksgiving and hats off to you and Marie for all your extensive cooking! It all looked divine! Great that you could get that last roll of wallpaper back to Lalande ....what a treasure!!! The lampshades are darling! I'm going to steal this idea! Go home and rest! Cheers!
Vivian, You Did A Wonderful Job Cooking those "American" classic dishes for Thanksgiving!!! So enjoyed watching Stephanie's version and now your version!!! Filled in all the spaces missed on her taping. You did a lovely job on cooking and also were so generous in your labor of love, in gift giving and sharing your talents! Bless you! Happy Christmas!!!
I appreciate the memorable Thanksgiving meal prepared by you at LaLande! I live in Pennsylvania and happy to see your elevated Stringbean casserole we used to have here in USA.❤😊
Cooking for loved ones is always a pleasure, especially at a time like this when gratitude is at the core of the reason to get together. That looked amazing Vivienne!
Vivian you are a treasure! I have been watching you along the way on your channel and Stephanie's and I have to be honest I had to see who you really were after a time and I am very happy to say you are a gem! I look forward to both of your sites, thank you for who you are.
Your Thanksgiving dinner looks absolutely delicious! I’m especially intrigued by the green bean casserole! I grew up with that side dish and have had really bad green bean casserole and I have learned it turns out so much better when I use frozen French cut beans instead of canned. It makes a big difference. Yours looks so good! How lucky you are to be friends with Stephanie and all of the wonderful people and pets at la Lande!
Vivian another wonderful vlog! You are so gracious and it shines through in all of your artistic endeavors, of which there are many. Your Chateau is so pretty As are hou!
Wow Vivian and Marie you guy's did a wonderful job on the food and it was great seeing all the chateau friends together having good food and a wonderful time together happy holidays everyone 🎄❄️🎄💕🤗🌼
You are the most thoughtful person Vivienne...what you bring to family and friends is remarkable.! Wonderful vlog as always! Those lampshades are indeed special.. look forward to seeing them in their new home!❤
Hello, Vivian!! Your video popped up in my feed & I had to watch it. Though TGDay 2024 has passed, it was so good to watch you, Marie & Philip in the Lalande kitchen. The reminisces of the holiday in the past came flooding back. I remember helping my mother in the kitchen, mostly scullery duty TBH. Family has been gone for decades, so it was good to remember. Growing up in an ethnic household, the menu was quite different from the traditional American one, though we did have a turkey. Your cheese cakes and Philip's, looked wonderful. No green bean casserole in my childhood. Tried it as a young adult and was not a fan of the copious quantity of salt. It was really good to see your very healthy rendition. All the best to you and your family in the New Year!! 🎉 Chuck in Northern New England
Just a little note for those who can't eat dairy, Love....Cool Whip isn't vegan as it is made with milk products. There is a vegan alternative, though called Coco Whip, which is made with coconut.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful holiday Thanksgiving with us from Lalande. It's so refreshing to see Philip's personality come out. Love him & Steph as a team, but the darlings are over the top in her videos. Merry Christmas, from the states.
Definitely a work of love by you and Marie!❤. Gosh- it looked like such fun, but I know it took a lot of time, prep and work. Thanksgiving is my favorite ! What a terrific job you and Marie did to make it so special -and so American. I’m grateful I discovered your wonderful vlogs, Vivienne! Always fun and informative- brings a smile to my face! Btw- “Stuffing” is the mixture you put INTO the turkey/bird to roast… And and it is called “ dressing” if you bake it outside of the bird! Hope that helps. Your stuffing looked delicious! Can’t wait to try your cranberry sauce! Thanks!😅 How in the heck did you get that duck to fit inside the turkey??!! ( it was stuffing!❤😂
Ahahahaha needs must: the mini Nutella ❤ Mmmm will have to try your cranberry chutney 😋 It's ironic to me that the French don't understand the sweet/tart taste; LOVE marshmallow sweet potato. Gorgeous ❤ Cheers!!! Turkduckin' 😋Thankful for Château Love 😉😘
Wow, Vivienne, how much work you did (and Marie & Phillip, too)! And everything was done so Perfectly! Fantastic job! Looked like a delicious & wonderful time. I love everything on your website, especially the jewelry. ♥

I love this video so much! My family and I are in the United States right now. We'll be moving to France, into our 16th century. Maison de maitre, full time next June. Thank you for showing me that Thanksgiving is possible in France 🙂 It is nice to keep some traditions. We'll definitely need to build up a community around us. If you need an American to help you next year, just give me a call 😊. I'll be right there!
Vivien, you are such an angelic soul. So generous, kind, loving and shining light. It was so good to enjoy your Thanksgiving. Here in New Zealand, of course, it's not celebrated, but I have been to an American friend's place here where she had made that sweet potato and marshmallow casserole. A monstrosity as you humourously called it. 😆Once was enough for me! 🤭 Blessings to you and your family. 🙏🏼 Love, Jacqueline from NZ 💝
I really like the candy sweet potatoes or yams and the green bean casserole. I don't put all the crazy stuff in my dressing or stuffing.. I boil the turkey gizzard, the turkey neck and turkey heart for 2 hours then put the turkey liver in the water for about 30 min. dried out bread crumbs celery. sage, onions diced and use the water I boiled the turkey inners in and cut up the inners and put them in it,. But to each his own. Pumpkin pie from scratch. Love it when you cook I can all most smell it and my mouth waters.
my mother's stuffing always had raisins in her stuffing ... i am not sure where that traditional way of making stuffing came from. otherwise i had not known of fruit in stuffing or nuts.

I noticed at the beginning when you were filming in front of the fountain that there were people wandering around taking photos. I wondered if people just turn up and come into the grounds uninvited.?
Vivienne, that was the best coverage of the Châtelains' weekend yet. The editing was so professionally done. Kudos! Everything looked amazing. I don't recognize the wallpaper. Was it made by a famous maker? Which Lalande bedroom is it for? What a kind gesture. Bake or no bake, I find cheesecake best in small portions. Just a taste with a really good coffee is all I need. My sister makes a pumpkin version that everyone raves about, but I can only take two or three bites of it. Yet others eat copious portions without slowing. OMG! Your earrings are very pretty. The yellow sapphire is nice, too. They're relatively hard stones, and as pretty as yellow diamonds but without the enormous price tag. Winning! Congratulations on the artwork. You do great work. 🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄 Christmas cheer to you all! 🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄 ❤️from TX!
I absolutely love no bake cheesecake but I also like regular cheesecake. Actually for our birthdays that’s usually what we make is the no bake cheesecake because my husband cannot stand regular cheesecake. I think they are very different but I do love the one that is just plain. I also make our sweet potato casserole so sweet it’s ridiculous but that’s just me I don’t think anybody else does it that way😂 i’m pretty sure it would probably be a dessert for most people. I do not mash mine which I know some people do but I cut mine into bite-size pieces and add butter, brown sugar and pepper I bake that for quite a while until it all gets rich end syrupy then I put the marshmallows on and toast them. Our stuffing we do put pork sausage in which gives it a nice flavor along with the sage and poultry seasonings. We also use an electric knife to cut the turkey, my husband says he wouldn’t do it any other way, even though we have very expensive knives that he could use but he grew up using an electric knife. Your dinner looked absolutely spectacular and those cheesecakes looked out of this world. This year was a different kind of year we went out to dinner which I’ve never done on Thanksgiving but it was only going to be my husband and I and our son, my daughter couldn’t come in because she just got married and my husband said it was not worth washing all those dishes for three people. We usually have around 20 but through two different couples being separated and so on it was not working out. What I did not take into account is I’m allergic to nuts and I just don’t cook with them as I took a bite of the stuffing I had to spit it out in my napkin because all the sudden I realized a lot of people put nuts in their stuffing and sure enough they did and while everything was delicious I could only eat the potatoes & the turkey, everything else had some kind of nut in it. Instead of pumpkin pie they actually had pecan pie so needless to say I will go back to cooking next year.
HI VIVIENE , just loved this video You are so charming and thoughtful always giving of your time and yourself to others.God Bless you and your family and sending you a MERRY XMAS from Scotland. and for NEW YEAR , LANG MAY YOUR LUMB REEK..
What an amazing meal! Fantastic achievement. I really appreciated the recipes for the cranberry sauce and the bean casserole, plus your helpful history of the dish!
Oh Vivienne, I love your cranberry sauce, it looks rich and delicious. I often make a blueberry one for my cheesecake 'cause it's everyone's favorite 😋
Hi Vivienne, you did a fanstastic job with maarie as well making the lovely Thanksgiving feast! It truly was one of the grandest Thanksgiving meals i have seen, such an assortment of food ,that really was much different and loved hearing about and seeing , the new ones. , This was so nice you were able to take this time, and truly could see you enjoyed it too! It was very nice you could all join together for the Holiday! The stoes are so great ther as you can buy so much in one place. I end up jumping around and it is very difficult especially when you must drive a distance for each one, We live in the USA, and a smaller village area. It is nice though and quiet, and has lovely people within! But just hard to shop. Not much here,
Hi from Athens Greece …dear Vivian I love your videos and I would like to wish you and your family all of the very best for Christmas….with health, happiness and love…
Hello to you all ! Happy to see you have a good time and Thanksgiving with all your friends ! The food looks amazing and so good, I understand why it is hard to leave with all that positive vibes…Have a good week ❤

What an amazing meal! Fantastic achievement. I really appreciated the recipes for the cranberry sauce and the bean casserole, plus your helpful history of the dish!
I like to add roasted red pepper and slivered almonds in my green bean casserole.
That sounds so delicious! I’ll try that next time. 🏰💖
Oh Vivienne, I love your cranberry sauce, it looks rich and delicious. I often make a blueberry one for my cheesecake 'cause it's everyone's favorite 😋
Loved watching all the Thanksgiving dinner preparations. Everything looked so delicious. Love watching your videos, you are so joyous❤
Not much here,
Thank you as my Xmas was going to be sad
Sending you big hugs and hopes for brighter days ahead. 💖💖💖
