I have watched lots of restoration videos, but this one is the only one in which the spirit of the home really comes through. I don't know the chateau's history, but I believe it was built for love and joy.
Over a hundred years ago it was unthinkable that this well loved home was going to be in ruins one day! I am glad that you two have the vision and commitment to bring it back to life again.
Do you feel the M Mansion is now secure from the people who broke in before? I hope so! I love the tile floors you are uncovering. They will save you a lot of money. Have you gotten estimates for a new roof?
There was an earlier video in which Billy and Ryan responded when one of the security cameras was triggered. Turned out to be urban explorers but, yeah, the place is much more secure now.
Does anyone else want an interview with Stan? He appears to have a varied and colorful background. So intriguing! Seems like he was an engineer, a teacher, a fabricator, a mechanic; he speaks several languages. Is there anything he can't do????? And how did you meet Sadie??????
As a nurse who's seen lung conditions because of people doing renovation and not wearing masks, I'm so glad to see you doing that. There are so many microscopic particles that do not dissolve or able to be coughed out from the little cilia hairs in the lungs that get embedded and damage the fine lining of the lungs. Keep up being safe. Your lives matter because who would I watch then to make this chateau look beautiful?
Heart melt moment. Stan is talking to the young lad, Sadie is trying to sweep what she can around them, then without stopping his convo, starts helping Sadie with the sweeping. Stan is truly a gentleman, that shows great love and respect to his beautiful Sadie! ❤️
Am loving the sass and enthusiasm of Stan. We’re going to need a “getting to know you” episode like they did with Yannis. Am so excited for the renovation of this beautiful building!
Even in her extreme need of care, she is such a beauty. The opening shot with the snow was ethereal. Oh Stan, that's not creepy. That's the old girl showing her sadness at being abandoned for so long. With every bit of work done, she becomes content and relieved. It's just her size that makes it hard to see.
Hey Sadie, a suggestion for you. When you are behind the camera, talk to us a bit. We enjoy hearing what Stan has to say and would love to hear what you’re thinking as you film Stan cleaning up. It would make the videos more interesting 😀.
Stan, you are a true Renaissance man! Am so enjoying the new channel. Am getting much vicarious pleasure watching. Would have loved to have taken on such a project 50 years ago but don't envy you all your labor. Best wishes Sadie and Stan.
One bite at a time and you sure have taken a big chunk out of this area in a few days. The floor tiles are just beautiful. It means every thing that you are so considerate of each other.
I saw a DIYer fold a piece of cardboard into three sections and then slide into the bag, open it up and made it easy to fill the bag. Once filled they removed the cardboard and used it again in another bag. ❤❤❤
At the end where Stan and camera showed us where all the wind noise was coming from, all I could think of was, “Well at least there’s air circulation!” All they need now is warmth, a water tight building, no rain or snow, paint, new plaster and then there will be no more mould!” A lot of work. Really enjoy the videos.
I LOVE your Chateau !!! It has the most beautiful bones, I follow a few chateau blogs, but I have to say there is something about this one that is very special. I am so looking forward to following your journey of restoration of this beautiful building as you turn it back into a home. Thank you for taking on this project and sharing it with your viewers. ❤️🇨🇦
As a quilter, I am fascinated by floor tile designs. The floors you were uncovering today, in a quilt are called “Tumbling Block”. But as mentioned by others it is similar to M.C.Escher repeating pattern designs. Can’t wait to see what else you uncover!
It's so hard to imagine that someone would just walk away and abandon such a stunningly beautiful Chateau. Not even caring about the lost history of the property. I can't imagine the stress you must feel by the end of the day after digging through all of that rubble and debris, and all the damage done by uncaring and useless human beings. So sad to watch sometimes. Glad to see people stepping up and taking on such a difficult challenge. Thank you.
It is so satisfying watching all of the liter being taken away. With each bagful, the chateau is revealing itself, peeling back the layers, one scoop and bag at a time. From my point of view, I’m watching a gift being opened.
Wow - the creepy part did not disappoint 😬 The wind blowing like that, oh man... But every room getting clean makes it look less frightening, so well done on that!
Guys….Billy stated yesterday that he wouldn’t be posting a video because he was going to be in Mayan(spelling?). He said he will be filming in Stan’s workshop. Also stated that Stan is an engineer and a fabricator and is doing some work for Billy and Billy will be there filming at Stan’s workshop!!! Looking forward to seeing that!!
The chateau looks so beautiful covered with snow! I Can’t understand why people think it’s okay to destroy such beautiful places just because they are abandoned. I know it’s early days, but I can’t wait to see it all finished. You two are doing a great job together, perfect team to bring this chateau back to life.
Beautiful and very picturesque...but cold. I see why Stan wants to get all of the windows repaired.....keep the weather out! There are some lovely floors in the chateau. Once cleaned up...they will be beautiful. You guys are doing a great job!! Exciting.
I remember floppy discs!!! Also before computerization too over everything was written by hand, ink and carbon paper triple pages,,,, That floor is stunning. Lots of clean up today. Looks great. You’ve done quite a bit in a short amount of time. Love this beautiful building and it’s digging g a sound of relief that someone are taking care of her once again. ❤❤❤
Wow, you are making fast progress and seeing instant results. Suggest tying or taping the stair rod to the banister so it doesn’t get lost or tossed by a volunteer along the way. Teaching makes total sense; chalk board usage,, penmanship, bullet list; informative and entertaining. ❄️☃️😂
Sadie, you’ve been mucking out horse 🐴 stables for so long your in great shape for shovelling out the Mucky Mansion!! It’s exciting to watch the transformation! ❤
I just want to say hello My name is Peter and I'm from the United States it's so nice seeing you guys finally buying that Chateau I saw Billy last yearwith Ryan looking at that place I'm happy that you guys bought it congratulations and I'll be with you through the whole process
Hi Stan & Sadie, thank you so much for documenting your progress with this beautiful building, I look forward to a new video each day and can't wait to see your progress over time, I'm in Australia so we don't have big chateaus here, all the best Yvette xx
Sadie and Stan, I love the flooring in the servants' quarters, it will look great when you are putting the finishing touches on it. I am loving watching the process of your journey saving this amazing property together and will watch all of your up and coming videos. Please keep the videos coming!
I use to detrash houses and mobile homes and I used a couple of big garbage cans, also I had a shop mechanics stool that I would scoot along and picked up trash because my back is bad. Anyway so much fun.
And here in the States we can buy plastic inserts for bags that keep the bags open and erect while being filled. Then the inserts are removed and reusable.
Just a suggestion, but if you use a sturdy bin to shovel the muck into, then dump it into the larger bin it might make things easier and quicker for you. Less struggling with the bag opening.
Plastic pails are easier and faster to fill/empty/reuse . Keep up the great work . Around here we get 15 - 20 cm at least one a week for 3-4 months .... Lots of love from Ontario , Canada .
It is so satisfying watching all of the liter being taken away. With each bagful, the chateau is revealing itself, peeling back the layers, one scoop and bag at a time. From my point of view, I’m watching a gift being opened. Ps… sav a piece/strip of the wall paper in each Rome moving forward. It is the history of the chateau,
Listen to the wind blow, but despite the freezing cold conditions you removed a lot of trash, dust and years of who knows what. The floors are beautiful. There’s so much to do but you must both be so excited. Stan is a very interesting man and I’m guessing he’s highly intelligent and talented. I’m enjoying your videos tremendously. ❤
So glad to see you both wearing masks as in my 20s I was helping clear a old disused hospital here in the UK. As you can imagine there was allot of dusty rubble like this as we had to knock all plaster and floors through. I now have quite bad asthma which could of been from that job I don't know, but I was wearing one of those paper masks most of the time. P.S great videos
With the wind and the snow and seeing the wallpaper blowing in the hall, it's just sad that no one appreciated it enough to take care of it. With the clean up you are doing, each room looks 100 percent better already. Once that's all done and roof doesn't leak anymore, then, it's the repairing that will be so exciting. Putting in windows to keep the cold out. Repairing fireplaces and plumbing and heating and electrics and then, you could possibly start staying here while you work. Set up a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, and then work on the each room. I'm so glad someone decided it was just too beautiful to let fall down.
You can almost hear the chateau saying "thankyou" with every bag of rubbish removed from it .and that floor!! Beautiful
I have watched lots of restoration videos, but this one is the only one in which the spirit of the home really comes through. I don't know the chateau's history, but I believe it was built for love and joy.
I love the block pattern flooring
@@ann-mariemeyers9978 the floor pattern resembles a work of art by M. C. Escher. I love it!
Beautiful season, what a shot. At 70 years old, why is it so interesting 🧐 watching 2 young people in a different country sweep 🧹 a Chateau? 😂❤
I'm 75 and I'm right there with you. 😊
I am 77 and obsessed with this channel obsessed 🤩🤩
81 and me too !
I’m 72 and tell my husband of all the “work” I do restoring chateaus on UA-cam! 🤣
I;m 68 and from B.C Canada and I love watching.
I love all of the beautiful floor tiles in the mansion ❤
I’m with you they spectacular 😊
Me too they’re gorgeous hope they can be saved
Yes, they look beautiful, can't wait to see them vacuumed and mopped, to see what repairs they might need.
Over a hundred years ago it was unthinkable that this well loved home was going to be in ruins one day! I am glad that you two have the vision and commitment to bring it back to life again.

Beautiful…happy your taking care of this place
Hopefully, one day they will do a live and answer questions.
Yes, would love to know how S and S met!
Yes, I do! He sounds more German than French, but what do I know?
@@bensteyn1974 the accent sounds more Russian.

That floor is really pretty. I hope you can save it.
That floor is really pretty. I hope you can save it.
Finally, Mr.Right
The Chateau looks so beautiful in the snow. ❤❤
I agree, I also thought the floor pattern was very nice once they got the rubbish off of it. This place is just beautiful.
With Stan's hard work and clear determination this place has a chance for rebirth.
Am loving the sass and enthusiasm of Stan. We’re going to need a “getting to know you” episode like they did with Yannis. Am so excited for the renovation of this beautiful building!
Stan is very knowledgeable in alot of areas.
I love Stan’s willingness to pull things of interest out of the rubbish. You are both amazing.
Love Stan,s sense of humour and also his desire for learning the history of De Pannard. This is going to be a fun time
The poor battered chateau looked beautiful in the snow. It will gradually regain its beauty with all the attention it’s receiving.
Oh boy Sadie, you can dress him up but....what a character. He's so upbeat and positive. You are a great match. 🇨🇦
Stan is a gem, funny and cultured.
It’s amazing how much of an improvement just cleaning the floor makes.
Just what we say at home too 😂

Yes, Sadie and Stan make a great combination. The chemistry is great and they bring out the best in each other. Great channel guys!
Yes Stan is a man of many talents.
Stan I’ve joined your fan club. It didn’t take long. Welcome to the Pethrick’s. Rooting for you all.
One bite at a time and you sure have taken a big chunk out of this area in a few days. The floor tiles are just beautiful. It means every thing that you are so considerate of each other.
So glad Ryan hooked us up with you two. Love you both. Thank you for the great videos.
I think I would have enjoyed Stan as a teacher. Not just math but he is interested and shares so many things. Never boring!
I’m happy to see your subscriber numbers going up quickly! It’s fun being in on this from the beginning.
Totally agree!
THE HALLWAY FLOOR IS BEAUTIFUL
This is going to be a beautiful château when it is finished.
Oh, the breathtaking difference when Stan rolled back that rug. The floor is lovely. ❤
I saw a DIYer fold a piece of cardboard into three sections and then slide into the bag, open it up and made it easy to fill the bag. Once filled they removed the cardboard and used it again in another bag. ❤❤❤
Your Pup looks like a little Fox running through the snowy landscape.
I see that Winter has voted 'You'll be inside today.' It's very sad to see these beautiful places turned into a dumpster. Big hearts to the rescue.
Love the new renovation. What will happen to Sadie’s apartment in the convent?
This place is going to take years before it’s habitable, they’ll be in the Convent apartment before long
So much junk!!!!
At the end where Stan and camera showed us where all the wind noise was coming from, all I could think of was, “Well at least there’s air circulation!” All they need now is warmth, a water tight building, no rain or snow, paint, new plaster and then there will be no more mould!” A lot of work. Exactly what I thought Mary.....I think a lot of those floor tile designs would make super original quilt blocks....😊
Peel a large piece of each f the wallpapers now so you don’t forget to have them
I was getting excited by the same thing. I was looking for quilt patterns in the tiles.😊
Me too. Lovely to see the tumbling block on the floor. I do hope it can be cleaned and preserved.
I'm a quilter also. That was the first thing i noticed. It's a beautiful pattern and will look amazing when the room all comes together.

You and Stan have a great deal of work to do, but in the end, you’ll have a true gem of a home! Exciting!
A little tip for you Sadie snd Stan. Before sweeping all the dust, sprinkle water over the floor. The dust will not fly around. Xx
Wow - the creepy part did not disappoint 😬 The wind blowing like that, oh man... But every room getting clean makes it look less frightening, so well done on that!
I gasped when Stan rolled the carpet to reveal the tiles. This place is going to be so beautiful when you are finished
The roof is a priority I would think.. what is the state of that massive roof?
I agree! The roof and windows should be first priority. Has to be water tight or else, what is the point.
uploaded your video before your brother today!!! Nice
Maybe Stan and Sadie should have yelled first 😂
no, but instead of her brother 😁
Billy hasn’t uploaded today, I haven’t seen anything. I keep searching.

That floor reminded me of M C Escher artwork. I became fascinated with his work at school many years ago and have loved his work ever since

That wind blowing through the room was creepy indeed. It’s mucky but you’re getting somewhere! Good job guys and thanks.
It is such a shame that people have to destroy . Nice job cleaning.
