- World 12 is Balan Wonderworld's worst world. Its indoor, tight space and painfully slow progression brings any playthrough of the game, casual or speedruns, to a crawl. The world is just boring. However, in 2022, a group of Balan Wonderworld speedrunners began to find ways to make these levels genuinely interesting. This is how speedrunners fixed world 12.
Small Edit: VG_JUNKY also contributed towards the discovery of 12-1 clip by researching it alongside Silent, Silent was the first to execute the trick however.

Finally, a video that both encompasses everything great about the beloved 2021 classic and shows how to actually play the game properly with the ingenious mechanics it introduces like glitchy corners and elf clipping. Can't believe there isn't more respect for the first video game to sell a balillion copies.
Jokes aside, this is a great video from a very underrated UA-camr. I hope this channel gets the attention it deserves!

Loved chapter 13-1 The Baman Who Balaned all over the Wonderworld
The devs created a cool-looking Escher painting themed level where the main piece of coding they had to do was rotate the level like 90 degrees every once in a while and their solution was to... copy/paste the level to account for each rotation.
Absolute peak game design. No wonder Balan is GotY all the years.
To be fair, it's easier to do that than to change gravity,
Also the rooms don't all match 🙃
At least it helps us go fast
And, don't they have a similar level where they show the entire level rotating too, where it actually rotates?
Like, they can do it, they chose not to though ?
The algorithm can only get better with more Balan content.
Its time to make that change
Now that we've shaved off time in world 12, the game is truly a master piece.

Slight correction Vg Junky and I worked together finding the itsy clip, I was the first to perform it iirc.
I'm only a minute in and I can tell this video is going to be absolutely incredible. I hope it gets a lot more attention soon!

I remember that I was able to find out how to get oob in 12-1 myself while messing with the balan costume though I don’t think I found anything useful to do with it
Side question:why do you have 100,000 of every costume at 23:44?

@@jemuzuthestrangebear The limit is 99 normally. Collecting another will not increment the costume count.
The practice file was made with 100,000 because I wanted a round number. I didn't make the current practice file, but I made a previous version.
