- Part 2! Beltmatic is a factory game, similar to Shapez and Factorio, but rather than automating shape or resource production, you're doing hardcore maths!

The lack of efficiency is killing me... Truly the work of an Architect
3:30 yea it’s not that efficient it should be a straight path to the center 😅
No, architects would have made it really really neat and tidy. Engineers are the ones that don't give a fuck as long as it works.
Had to stop the video few times just to calm myself due to all the inefficiencies
was about to say disgrace to engineering
Reminds me of shapez. He doesn't build for easy expansion in mind.
25:20 him saying that he doesn't know how to make 19s while they are being made directly to the left of the main blue square got me
I came to say this.
well, everyone know how to make 19
i think matt just think i cant make 19 "Efficiently"
4×4+3.
This video is like one of those ads that play bad on purpose so that you download the game because you know you can play better
Yea
@@pixisthepixel 1 minute ago!?!?!?!?
bro i swear to god every single one of his videos are like that, it's like he's missing the point on purpose so he can focus on content creating rather than playing the game for himself he's playing himself for other people to watch, and as long as we can see he's missing the point, then he has identified his target audience which is "fellow engineers"
If hes doing that on purpose, then that’s a true engineer move
And I did lol
17:27
Matt: we need 600's.
The game: You need 600 74's.
Ya I came to the comments to see if anyone saw it
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb la la la la la la la la la! Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb- Everyone is dumb!

Matt: "Multiplying is slower than adding"
Also Matt: *multiplies numbers by 2 instead of adding them to themselves*
He could have just added the fives together!
@@sharpblade_2x998 thank God you're repeating the essence of the joke so everyone confused can take notes, everyone was thoroughly puzzled before you helped us out here
I spotted the 600 incident right away
Same
me too, i was about to comment xD
it took me longer to figure out how he screwed that up. I had to go back to see that the 600 was the amount, I only saw the 75 at first
yeah that hurt.
me to 🤣🤣
There's no point to the 25 "storage" because the multipliers run at the same speed, so that storage can never deplete anyway, it just takes up space
I’m not sure what the worst part was- making 600s instead of 600 74s, multiplying two numbers instead of adding them or “I don’t know how to make 19” when there’s a production line for 19s RIGHT THERE…
POV:Me after grinding the game for 40 hours just to see this
My brain:Just relax
My conscience:Beat him up
8:46 "Copying and pasting is fun"
Buddy went from engineer to programmer really quick
Well he is a software engineer now I guess
@@thegoof2763 great follow-up
26:15 I wasn't paying attention to the number and for a brief moment I was really impressed that RCE divided some huge number by 147 effortlessly in his head to figure out he needed 24s
Making 600 when he needs 600 74s lol
Saw him do that and instantly checked the comments
It made me so mad
The true reading comprehension of an architect. "Sure looks good to me!"
Ah number dyslexic.
AND THEN HE JUST KEPT IT ALL THERE
I couldn't stop laughing when Matt started making 600s instead of 74s
LOL
You hooked me to this game with part 1, and now I went way further than you. Thank you for the discovery!
Also, remember that you can extract a whole lot of rows from one extractor, and do a whole lot of the same operation in parallel...;) (I know you already do it, but it can be pretty fast to clipboard a build of parallel adders, parallel multipliers, etc, to have directly a multiplier with 8x input rows of each and 8x outputs).
Also, if you shift + scrollwheel while in paste mode, it will scroll through your recent copies, so it's easy to have copied builds for adders multipliers etc.
Have a nice day!
Shift scroll, brilliant.
Do you recommend starting with an extractor template and paste it on everything?
His first video also got me 😂
Now I'm 20 hours into a playthrough with level 8 everything besides level 15 belts and I feel like I've done everything I wanted to do. Got all the steam achievements.
Very solid use of like $5.50
@@BishopStarsthe joy of no resource cost to build - I have a copy of every system I've made tucked away into a corner of the map.
I found that making templates for extraction quickly became useless as my needed numbers changed - the copied extraction setups just got in the way and made a lot of clutter
same here
@@air5723 I like how we found ourselves doing the same thing to solve this problem
So I've played this after the last video. It speeds up once you creat assembly lines like in factorio that produce full belts. Just keep track of the outputs per source.
I never fully calculated it, but since your combinators aren't limited resources, I just did 2 rows of 8. At large numbers, I'd finish off the last number before I finished the factory of the new one.
There's an option in settings that let you create L shaped belt lines. Very nice to make corners while zoomed out.
I finished all the achievements. Level 8 in all upgrades, maxed out all production, up to level 30 in the primary level system.
5 digit numbers get difficult, well most of them.
Overall I think the sources need to be all prime numbers, or multiples of 2.
I like that there is no 10s tho
8:08 who gonna tell him what he just accidentally made?
Me
Casual swastikas are inevitable in beltmatic :D
So what? It's just a Swastik
And for your knowledge, nazi swastika is actually tilted 45°
This is just normal swastika which means wealth in Asian countries

Watching the inefficient use of space hurts my soul, 10:00 Since you're multiplying 4x4 there's no reason why you can't rotate those multipliers and have one belt feed both A&B, the speed of the multiplier working is much MUCH slower than the rate at which 4s come out. Then you can squeeze a ton of 16s out by doing multiple versions of that.
The thing is,the more belts you put out of a extractor doesnt make it faster and output more,so if he did it your way there would maybe be gaps, and his way looks cleaner too.
@@Salarostnot one belt for all multipliers, but one belt for each multiplier.
@@skylinelibertarian3835 it still slows it down, his extraction rate was 3 or 4 belts,if you use all sides you get 12 belts so it would slow it down a bunch
@@Salarost The speed at which the operations work is MUCH slower than the speed at which the extractor can supply numbers. Case in point, I made a 27 generator by using 24 multiplications splitting 12 belts around the 3 extractor, each belt supplying 3's to the 3 * 3 multiplier and then the 3 * 9 (from the last multiplier) multiplier. The extractor is still clogged because the multipliers are too slow.
@@Salarost that would be true if the multipliers worked as fast as the extractors but they don’t.
4:06 "making backup storage" fully understanding that he makes 25's as quickly as he makes the 75's is hilarious
"We've got a huuuuge map, it's absolutely ginormous."
...I see you.
I suggest a huge roundabout around the base to tidy things up
I don't know how to make 19, while the cursor is 15 pixels away from 19... Hahah matt

@@kdawg7695 lol
6:34 the 26s are on the split 2 line going into the 15 factory, so you are getting the occasional 26+3=29. which then gets x3 for 87. 87x2 for 174, then plus the final 4 for the 178. we can see the whole line there.
this game really should have been titled "Numberwangtorio"

0:23 Matt : Don't worry, it's not a snake.

26:22 Matt : YES ! I did it ! I know Matt !
Sun Tzu : If you know yourself but not the target number, for every correct calculation gained you will also suffer a mathematical defeat.
6:02 "why stop there" matt x jadokar
257=16x16+1 should be the optimal strategy for the next video. This game is rather addicting. Also eventually numbers like 42 and 49 won't be necessary for higher upgrades so you can get rid of those belts to make room for bigger numbers.
Can’t wait for part three
Matt can automate anything, I swear if he discover minecraft create mod.... wink wink
Waiting for him to do Factorio modded. That should be about 200+ hours of content. More if he does Bobs + Angels
@@jesseweber5318 I'm waiting for him to do mindustry
AUTOMATED MATH!
But minecraft is so incredibly fucking boring!
He doesn't want to play minecraft, and Create is also very easy lol
Awesome! I was hoping you would post this, I loved the other one!
There’s an app called Builderment that is just like this except no math or numbers, it’s all resources (copper, coal, stone, etc.)
Update: it’s a day later and I just found the video he already has on this, silly me
Oh. My. God. The blunders are amazing. I'd love to see more of this game from you. I've got it but I burn out so quick, it's the kind of game you need to let run in the background while doing other things.
28:10 ish has the multipliers breaking my brain, WHY ARE THEY BENDING
Seems like it would make sense to have some sort of a "highways" leading into the destination in main directions (up, down, right, left) and basically have all those in paralel belts that have some solution that allows them to move numbers between them if either gets congested.
I think with the new priority junctions you should be able to make such self-balancing solution
hey i loved your first video on this thank you for making a part 2!
We need more videos on this game! The factory must grow!
28:10
Is it just me, or are the multipliers creating an optical illusion?
ur not the only one lol.
?
@jaideepshekhar4621 The two rows of multipliers are perfectly parallel to each other, but at a quick glance they look (to me) like they are bend or 3D.
Much like Shapez given construction is free spacing things out is a good idea.
My recommendation as always is to just start by running some belts from far out in each cardinal direction into the hub, then based resource gathering off those spokes rather than near the centre.
This gives you a lot more room to work, and makes empty spots on belts a lot easier to see since they stand out on a larger scale.
With this game is easier then shapez to saturate belts, you always just take the belt speed divided by the machine speed.
So those berries you stick out could work well as guides, but you will always need a new belt to bring the numbers in.
Matt must only ever record gameplay for all games on Friday afternoons.
Hope you keep playing this. Probably worth it to get rid of the numbers you no longer need
Very much loving this series, looking forward to episode 3!
Hahaha that flex at the end "That looks like a prime number" Really clever ;)
I've been loving this game. Can't wait for episode 3!
1:10 ah yes, the ✨️ pp ✨️
Love these Beltmatic videos... So fun. Hope to see more!
In this game I made 3 of the same factories that can make any number, but damn you did good.
This was very entertaining. Your first video on this game is the reason why I bought it. It got so excited when you made a new video. 😊
This actually looks very fun
I wanna see a part 3 of this.
Can't wait for the next part
For having loads of the same production line, you could do a bracket system like in sports competitions (8 teams in quarter-, 4 teams in semi- and 2 teams in the finales) but in reverse
The moment you said 600 I noticed
"Let's just delete that before anyone notices..."
Priceless.
8:02 the position of conveyors are rising my right hand ngl.
MATT PLZ MAKE MORE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MATH AND FACTORY GAMES. I WILL ALWAYS WATCH ANY OF YOUR FACTORY GAME VIDEOS SO PLEASE MAKE MORE
I really wish this game extended to higher concepts like division, exponteation, roots, but also further to i and complex numbers. And you could get a reward for calculation Pi or e or whatever
It does do division and exponents
I was hoping we would see alot more of this.
Glad to see you agree.
We need to hear you say "Booooosh" more. That is always one of the highlights of your videos :D
You'd think a Civil Engineer would know how to use Arterial Roads.
unless he didnt realize just how massive the project was gonna get lol
You kind of beat this game by building 19 16-Bit Buses 😉
Just thinking about it, likely the best way to make numbers would either to make powers of 2 and then sum them in binary, or to pull a goldbach conjecture and make primes, then selectively add 2 primes together to get any number you want.
Wounder if this could be made in scrap mechanic smart sensors / memory panel , extractors could be sensor hooked up to pistons to extended with a pulse with a colored block to = number
This game scratches the right part of my brain! After watching just these two videos, I went and bought it!
When the engineer is so messy with their belts lol
**dies inside a bit**
Cant wait for part 3😊
can't wait for the next part
We definitely need part three, I need to see him react to the "Exponentiator"
YESSSS 2ND PART
I want a version of this where all the components cost money, and you earn money by delivering the numbers. But using market forces, so you want a little bit of every number.
4:40 since addition is quicker than multiplication .... proceeds to create 4 more multiplications rather than adding a 5 to itself 4 times. The architects are getting to RCE don't let them have him
unless hes planning to go on a multiplication rate increase spree in the next one lol
Yay part 2
To gain space around home base, take a look at the number you are making that you no longer need, like 3. You are overproducing them like crazy so eliminate the 3s to gain space.
It’s early game, so use this opportunity to clear out the area around home base so you can maximize input belts. You don’t really need to use that space for smaller numbers anyways. They can easily be shipped in from further away.
As a maths nerd, I see a lot of potential in this game, for example, I would love to see the game introduce challenging numbers to produce, most notably e or pi or the golden ratio to like ten dp, and add more advanced stuff in number theory, it would make quite a fun gimmick for narhematicians
what, you want the game to parse taylor polynomials at an arbitrary cut-off as far as precision is concerned?
I think it's pretty easy to see why this game is a mental arithmetic-type deal, not an actual math game. Even if you could make it work, at that stage you're making an obnoxious game for three people who actually enjoyed doing their comp-sci homework on the crappy js-applets their incompetent prof shoddily put together in his spare time. Really not worth it, and most likely not even remotely fun, even if you're the kind of player who would hyperfocus on obtuse puzzles.
The later stages get quite complicated. Just like Shapez. Oh, and 257 can be done easy with (5x5)x(5x2)+7. Two multipliers in parallel, another combing them, and a simple sum in the end
MORE VIDEOS ON BELTMATIC!!!!!! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
19:53
Matt puts the multiplier against the extractor then waits for a second, then the video cuts to the extractor having a conveyor going into the top of the multiplier.
The mindustry part of his brain just turned on lmao
Someone teach this man how a manifold works!
It's funny, because Copy & Paste of this kind is exactly how you make a gazillon-transistor GPU.
I blame my math mistakes on it being Monday morning, or that it’s really early in the morning. Talking like 8-8:30 am and have bearly woken up
I am good at math and i like games like this where you build a giant factory so this game would be perfect for me
14:24 It seems the way that this game splits is exponentially. In my case, If I would have 7 lines and 512 numbers, 252 numbers would go to the 1st line, 128 numbers would go to the second line, 64 numbers would go to 3rd line, 32 numbers would go to the 4th line, 16 numbers would go to the 5th line, 8 numbers would go to the 6th line and 4 numbers would go to the 7th line
Engineer a battleship in from the depths. And it has to beat a plunder in from the depths. It’s a really fun and easy task that is great for all types of engineers. I recommend you try it. The game is called From The Depths.
I hate how this game is perfectly made to tempt me to play for hours on end, all night if needed to get the next upgrade... Well freaking done
My brain screaming "10 times 4" "10 times 4 plus 4" hahaha
I wish I can play this it seems so fun any free game like this
The hairy pointy thing at 1:11 is a nice touch.
You know in portal 2 when you kill glados and replace her with wheatley and later see him trying to set up test chambers? That's the vibe of this video
No one is gonna talk about the swastika he accidentally made around the 5:s when he was making 75:s around 8:26
I have been playing this non stop since the first video!
This is what late game satisfactory feels like late game, it’s all numbers lol
The lack of a main bus to the center hurts my brain as you weave a belt through everything else
Must be a Friday afternoon
please keep continue until u reach at least a million
8:07 he didn't realized what he just did.... What a monster...
That's the work of an architect
