You are spot on! I have one and it has been over the world with me. The Suunto clipper has not failed me at all. Oh! BTW I have had mine since 2005 and it is working quite well! Semper Fi
I've had one for about 18 months....I love it!
Thanks for sharing these! I'm making kits for my boys and these will be a perfect addition!!!
I've been looking for a high quality, small compass like this as back up for my large Suunto. It looks like I've found it. Thanks for a great review Aaron!
Thank you! Great review I am going to purchase one as part of my gear !
I got one a while back, it's worth the $18-20. You end up throwing the cheap ones away and buying more of them. This one is a keeper. Great review!
Thanks for sharing Aaron.
I have the Suunto Core i have a compass all the time around my wrist... Great video Aaron, I do however carry smaller compasses in my survival kits. And a Silva ranger when I am out and about in the bush.. ATB from Yellowknife
great video! it looks like a quality mini compass. thanks for the review.
It is a solid little compass.
thank you for the video I have been wanting one for a while now
Suunto, a brand I always trusted during diving.
nice! I have to pick up one of these, thanks brother!
I love this compass and have put one on the sternum strap of all of my backpacks. I still have a really nice Lensatic compass that I keep in my vehicle but these are significantly cheaper.
Ordered a couple. Doesnt hurt to have a backup to the compass feature of my Suunto.
I’m a home inspector and need to have a compass to mark the side of a house i May be on for reporting and I’ve wanted something that I could just look at and know where side of the house I was on, without pulling my phone out for my compass, or basing it off the sun and all of that, so super excited to get mine!
i don't wear a watch, but i found one of these attached to a survival band purchased from RE Factor Tactical. i wear it always. it gets a bit squirrely in my car-but still a great thing.
Hey Aaron, I've got the same exact watch/compass combo and I agree that it is very useful. One thing you might like is an adapter sold for this watch by countycomm that allows you to change the strap to nylon/leather/whatever you want. I switched mine to a zulu strap and I find it much more comfortable. Might be worth checking out. Nice video and have a great day!
Is that a g-shock square model?
@@damongligaw5449 Yes I think so, but there are many g-shocks that could be considered square models, I don't know if some have different dimensions. I took this from the countycomm website:
"These adapters have been tested to fit models including DW5600/GW5600, DW6600, DW6900/G6900 (Does NOT fit X6900), DW9000/DW9050/DW9052, G7900, G8900, GA100/GA110/GD100/GA120/GD110/GLS100/GD120, G9100, GW9200, G9300, GW9400 Rangeman, and many more!"
@@matthealey8 thank you for the info sir
Good video and review!
As a purist at times..
Particularly with compass... but most good ones are to big!
This one you reviewed looks perfect! Yup, will order today!
Thanks again!
Ross
The Santa Fe Man
I agree mine seems to be off a little while on my Gshock
Nice! I use the same Suunto compass on my Casio G-Shock. Small world.
Say Heah Aaron. Yeah, I also use a compass alot in the bush. I like to scout new areaa. So yeah, A Compass is needed. Infact I just got a Davly Voyager in the large. But I think the regular size is good. Yeah, I use it as my directional compass. It has the rotating bezel also. But I can still use it on the map with a little knowledge and practice.,,.
Nice video.
Can you make a review video of CS AK-47 filed knife?
This gonna be look good on my G Shock GX 56BB🔥
G-shock Gx 56 bb1.
Perfekt.
Thanks for the Vid.
Very cool
I have a Suunto Traverse and a few of these compasses as well, ironically these compasses do not fit on the Suunto watch bands as the band is too wide. Otherwise great watch and great compass.
Can you set the declination? Thank you
I wish they made them a touch bigger for a better fit for some larger bands or a coffin style. Works great for NATO bands for sure. Great product
Is it possible to pop the compass out of its housing? I would like to incorporate one into the handle of a knife I'm working on. Thanks!
I have no idea where mine went. The compass actually fell off the clip. For the price I paid for that I'm pretty pissed off about it.
How could a person take a chance on this? I was just about this buy it. Was.
This is a great idea! I've been using a Casio G-Shock GD-100 for a while. I have always wanted it to have a compass feature. This seems to solve that problem. Not expensive either. I just wonder if you have ever had the watch, or the steel parts on it, disturb the compass in any way?
Corpserated never had a problem
do you like alpine compasses sre they worth the money
I would rather lose one of my EDC Knives than my Suunto! I've had one on my watch and EDC bag forever, and I rarely met an SF soldier that didn't have one on. Totally worth the price.
Will it fit on a molle strap?
bro enough with the compass, tell us about that beat up g-shock :D
also, perhaps you could make video about beater or field watch(es) for outdoor activities? :)
Sorry I want to ask about this compass, I have the same one like this, but there is air inside like an air trap, how do I get the wind trapped inside the glass out? Thank You
Gideon, have you ever had one of the Clippers fail on you? Many reviewers online, and even some viewers commenting on your videos, report the compass and ring falling out of the clip and getting lost. Apparently Suunto has to replace this reasonably often, and has allegedly told users not to glue them in, because it would prevent the rotation of the heading ring.
Have you ever had the face fall out? And if so, after seeing the inside, do you think there would be a way to glue the compass onto the clip without locking up the ring?
I have one on my wrist as I type this, it is close to 15 years old.
I have the same watch and the same Clipper. I notice that the metal back plate of the watch affects the compass. It's better to detach the compass before using it.
agreed. interference is about 30 degree and that happrns on all watches I use
Awesome video! What waterproof watch would you recommend? Im going on a canoe trip this summer and i want to be prepared. Btw I am on a budget so i need something for a lower price
you can put a needle in a leaf with some water in it :)
Any g-shock would be good for you but make sure you look through the functions before you buy.
please make a video about italian knife lionsteel m5
Mateusz Zwoliński I have one too!
I bought one took it on a canoe trip it worked great for helping me find direction however the pointy bit on the clip part dug into my wrist a lot and broke the skin and left a sore . it was quite uncomfortable and at some point it just slipped off my watch and I lost it.and this was on my Casio range man watch.
Same here. I stuck some felt on the bottom of it and that solved it!
suunto watch band compass is one of the best
Hi. Quick question about that small compas. Is still working properly on the watch strap ,coz is very close to electronic device and battery? Thx for any info
Add me to the list of those clipper compasses that just came off and got lost. No hard use just everyday activities. Bye bye twenty bucks. I still recommend the Suunto MC-2 compass.
Thanks for the video. What do you recommend for a full size compass?
96wx3 look at brunton and suunto
SUUNTO MC-2 Compass: Top-of-the-line compass for professionals & serious hikers
got one..
Not mine I work in body shop my suunto clipped gets it's ass kicked daily I need a new one already lol!! I mean I really wack and scrape this thing up working on trucks and heavy equipment semi' s stuff like that. Fyi not sure why but I northern and southern hemisphere clippers and they both read tge same north is always pointing down not sure what's that about.
Where is that sky bridge at 1:40?
linebacker Vancouver
Is that compass durable? Feels like it would crack so easily
It is.
3 years,daily use.
My UA-cam was playing in the background and I heard you mispronounce the name like 100x 😂 sOOn-toe not sun-toe 😂
Great video, tanx for that. One thing to mention, it's constantly out of focus ;-)
Suunto is too wide for where it sits in the side of your wrist and it hurts and it very uncomfortable.....
Just purchased on your link.
I own this compass and I found that it is quite uncomfortable to wear, since the clip has two points that dig into my skin. otherwise great piece of kit.
I find it uncomfortable to wear because of the sharp edges
that compass damaged that watch strap nicely
I think it's a gadget. If you need a compass have a proper compass. I don't see any need for those tiny compasses except that they look cool. And I am sure Suunto is great company I just disagree with the concept of those tiny compasses.
$1.00 at the Dollar store in NYC and it comes with a carabiner...... 👊🏽
I've bought 10 of them.
I've had an inexpensive button compass on the Zulu watch band (22mm) of my Luminox dive watch for years. I bought the Suunto in January this year ($15.83 from Amazon). I was a little concerned because my old one slid on rather than clipped. But Aaron is correct: the Suunto hasn't budged. Love this compass!
A compass doesn't help you if you left it at home. On watch band it is there everyday.
Not Sunnto, but Suunto.
