So what technique is used to tighten without cutting the bungee? Just in case it's used with a dry suit vs a wet suit. Seems incomplete. I'll just wing it, it doesn't really matter. LoL
This video is missing three important things. First of course, how to shorten the bungees to the correct fit and tightness, then secondly to use a light and burn / trimm the ends proberly flat, and thirdly you never ever make one big loop as in the video. For redundancy and safety reasons you first cut the bungee in half and then you form two crossing single loops, with each two knots. If one loop fails you still have a fully intact second loop and you simply bring the compass a bit higher to where your arm is thicker. That way your compass almost cannot fall off or get lost.
looks like the most over complicated way of tying a bit of bungee to a compass , I think Id like 2 separate loops incase one broke ..

Is the bungee mount sold separately?
Can it somehow be clipped to the bcd?
Morena Linda i use a similar mount and at times use a small carabiner to clip it to a D ring. Im sure you could rig a retractor clip if you wanted.

@@-ZELTHELD- Great tip. Thanks!
@@0Diver0Down0 You can look for "retractors". But just seen your question is 2 years old so hopefully you already found it :D
fun fact: @zeltheld your comment (read in a few seconds) contains way more useful information than the 4 min video...
Done the wrong way, you want the knots at the top not at the bottom.
