A survival kit sold for less than ten bucks. If you really have that big of a problem with it, then stick a different one in it. It's cheap enough that you can still afford to buy more than what came in the kit.

I was shocked that you would call it a survival kit without first aid equipment, fishing equipment, and some form of mirror. But they probably spent most of their budget on the multi-tool and the fire starter which looked real nice actually.
shelter? water? Kits can scale up and down, and generic depends on your terrain. Fishing gear won't help in the desert, but a mylar blanket could do wonders.
I find fishing equipment to be an odd choice to cram into these kits. They're supposed to be the barebones minimal stuff, but food is the lowest priority when it comes to survival. You can go 3 weeks without food, and whatever food you could catch with the stuff in these kits probably would be best at boosting your morale than giving you significant calories. The way I see it, Rescue, Repair, Water, and Fire are the top things to put in these kits. If something breaks, you want to be able to repair to help you get out. Rescue so you can get out. Water because you can't go very long without it. And Fire just because it's useful for so many things, including the other 3 things I listed. Shelter is nice, but I think that should mostly be covered by a decent mylar blanket for areas that get cold at night. First aid, I think is a bit unnecessary, because whatever you can fit into these kits probably can't treat any serious injuries. And any minor injuries that you could treat are probably ones you can power through for the most part. Like, you aren't squeezing a tourniquet or compression bandage into these kits, so you aren't stopping any major bleeding. Nor a splint, so nothing you can do about broken or sprained limbs.

Okay so if a homeless man didn’t have food for a few days and someone gave him a meal with just a spit on the side is he not going to eat it? If you’re at a restaurant you ask for a new one or buy another. Lmao you trying to be smart failed hard.
A homeless man was never part of the equation, i was personally talking about you. And it was less about the food and more about the thought behind it. This video was to see if you get your money’s worth from purchasing this kit, because idk if you realize this but kits need to be bought in advance, so if you would be desperate for a kit when you are in a shitty situation with nothing, you might as well dream about a kit that isn’t trash. Also I wasn’t trying to be smart... i used that to illustrate my point... but from what i can judge about your character from your comments, you aren’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Timmy Turner also, you missed my point entirely. I laughed reading it because i thought about a kid confidently shouting out the wrong answer in class.
The top of a tin can is rolled over, so you can actually use a rock or abrasive to grind/sand down the lip, and the lid pops off, if you are truly in a situation with no other way to open a can
I have one of those whistles you're supposed to roll up money and stick it in there. It's kinda hard to do but once you get the hang of it it's a really nice thing to have
That would be cool :D I good a really cheap but light weight (2kg) 1,5 person tent on Amazon for approx 40€. I went on time around Iceland with it and it worked super fine! Hard rain, storm, everything. :D I was suprised how good it is. And fast to set up.
its a start. The case looks pretty sturdy and there are some useful things in there. Replace the multi tool and card thing with useful items and there is probably room for more stuff to customize with. $9 for a sturdy bright red case to stuff in your glove compartment or by the spare tire isn't a bad deal in my book.
FromThe Prairies Exactly - the red case is where most of the value is for me. I replaced the junk multitool with a better one, and added some paracord, a full size contractor trash bag, some folded duct tape, tinder, and a few first aid essentials and it still closed easily. I put the whole thing in a quart freezer zip bag for water and dust proofing and put in each vehicle.
What I totally miss is anything to cook water in or purify it, plus some type of cordage to make a shelter. The saw, the fire steel and the compass are cool!
Love that you're using the tools to demonstrate. People mostly just display them, name them, and then lay them aside . FYI: You can still open a can without a can opener because the lid is only held to the can by adhesive. Flip the can and rub vigorously on a smooth rock until friction melts the adhesive and the can leaks a bit, then carefully slide lid and can off the rock and flip them upright together. You'll lose some liquid, but the contents will still mostly stay in side. I suppose you could also melt the seal with coals on the lid, then just flip the top off, but depending on the size of the can and amount of liquid, there's risk of the can exploding from steam, so there's that I guess. :)
"Is that Metric system or standard?" Standard is Metric. Only USA and 3-4 other countryes use the Inch system. You should search "International System of Units " .
Between January 2009 and May 2013, Amnesty International received reports of torture and other ill-treatment committed by state officials in 141 countries, and from every world region. This only indicates cases reported to or known by the organization and does not necessarily reflect the full extent of torture worldwide. As these statistics err firmly on the side of caution, the actual prevalence of torture and other ill-treatment is probably even worse. I uhh don't see the point your getting at here Ace, seems like alot of countries torture people, they just measure the rod to beat you with in two different units. Source: www.amnestyusa.org/files/act400042014en.pdf
Well i think since the compass is filled with oil inside it can be a little slow sinc oil can become thicker from cold or when its not moving so in a little bit of warm it will work as it should . Again my opinion .
The containter it comes in is probobly the most valuable thing there, with the fire starter coming in at a close second. Just throw a leatherman in there, a snickers bar, emergency blanket and call it a good.
"metric or standart" When will americans finally realize that Metric is the standart and just far more logical and easier to use than the imerial system?
Well imperial is easy for personal at home guess work, where accurate measurement isn't needed. While you need to say 667 centimeters or 2/3 a meter, in imperial you can say two and a half feet. They both have their uses, if you say 'about this big' with yours hands, on average you match up with a 'foot' about 80% of the time, our minds don't like long complicated numbers for quick math. Now if Metric invented a foot alternative, you could sign me up, but until then, Imperial works for what it is.
@@henryettoit897 The question is though, how easy is it to visualize fractions, most people nod their head and just go along with it, not really grasping the actual distance in their head, Imperial on the other hand allows you to still do base 10 measurements but in easier to digest chunks visually for our minds.
I should have explained better, 10 as in feet, IE one floor, or 3 meters. Its easy to visualize floors and therefor how large things are if you say 40 feet or 45 etc.
@@austinjordan8840 Yeah, but being able to see is rather important in a survival situation. If the wrong screws become loose on my glasses, an inability to tighten them will ultimately result in losing the lenses. Without them, I can't read jackshit! So much for the nice map I brought along!!
I got one of those same little flashlights.. came on a cheap victorinox knock off knife .. I removed the flashlight and it is now part of a Altoids tin survival kit takes up such tiny amount of space it worked well
Butterfly screw - is the nut with wings that you can tightened with bare hands, they fit in the straight cut on the card. The Square cut with a little insert is also a bottle opener
He's an American making content in English, so for the majority of his viewers, the imperial system is the standard for day-to-day life. In fact, in his channel description, he even mentions "The American Dream", so it's probably American-centric content
I don't know why everybody is giving him a hard time about the metric system. Especially those people misspelling the word standard, lol there is no T at the end of standard.
I think that direction thing I think your suposed to put a stick in the gap then it can create a sundial so you can see what time it is. If you know it's 16:00 (4:00pm) then you know the sun is in the west. That way you can plot north?
Well I'm English I prefer the imperial system I use the metric system as well though I prefer degrees Celsius to measure temperature Easier to understand
Butterflies are the little twist on things with the 2 petals, hanging outward on opposite sides. I've seen them under tables and furniture, but that's all I can think of
TheUnknown777 Hmm, The whole idea of using this saw with your hands only or even with a couple sticks seems like a "You're doing it wrong moment." Ha ha! Thanks for the thorough reply.
The container in the whistle is not for keeping goodies. It is for filling it with fragrances and the keychain side also opens into a ball point. So it is 2 in 1. Works as a perfume and whistle
It’s nothing great, but looks like a great value for $10. The chain saw actually worked really well and didn’t hardly bind up. In a pinch, you’d be happy to have this kit with you. Also has room in the case for bandaids and other small items.
Great vid! At 03:39 - the instructional videos I have seen on that device wrap it around a stick. They only used the finger holes on the saw to cut the branch that would become the handle of the saw, and then they attached the saw as the blade of an improvised hacksaw. Then you could tend to a large amount of wood, and not worry about finger strain. /$0.02
I don't get this argument. You might be using it for day to day life, but anything that has to be done with precision that matters is done with metric. You're one of less than a handful of countries that use imperial... and yet metric is still used for science and not imperial even in the US. All this argument that imperial is fine does is create confusion because you have to be a unique special snowflake instead of standardizing with the rest of the word. Metric works just as fine if not better for day to day life and everyone else is using it, just imagine how much simpler things would be if everyone used the same system of measurement but the US is basically singlehandedly preventing that from happening.
The reason America hasnt switched to Metric-Or at atleast its a guess- is because it would be very costly.Replacing road signs alone would cost a good bit.Manufacturers would have to convert values on packaging. Everyday people would have to replace their tape measures, mechanics would have to switch to metric wrenches, people who didnt know metric would have to waste time figuring out what it means to say its 20 degrees Celsius outside. It simply isnt worth the cost.
I enjoy watching you go through this kit! I lol I needed to see this ! I bet at your birthday your cute opening presents! What is the best survival kit? Or should you make your own survival kit? ?
Not bad! Takes up almost no space or weight too. It's the ideal kit when you don't want to carry but is already there in your luggage or back pack or fanny pack, or in your jacket pocket. Granded we never expected the worst until it strucks us at the moment of most unexpected situation. It should include a 2X3 inches shatter proof mini mirror and a plastic magnify glass , 2 fishing hooks, l roll of 20 ft of 6-8 lb capacity fine fish line. Plus 2 full size bandages.
I have a Leatherman multitool that bought for around 7 bucks. I've used it maybe 3 times because of the pliers that part of it but I've never tried the Phillip's screw driver.
Ancillary direction indicator is potentially useful. Put it on a flat surface in a bowl of water and add a piece of magnetized metal to the center and you can use it as a compass. To magnetize ferrous metal try rubbing it on your hair or a bit of fur.

It doesn’t matter how much it costed..... If you were actually lost in the wilderness you would die for a kit like this one.....
Timmy Turner irrelevant. So i can say if someone spat in your food in a restaurant “you know if you didn’t have any food you’d die for that.”
I laughed reading it because i thought about a kid confidently shouting out the wrong answer in class.
die to get a survivalkit is not very usefull
The top of a tin can is rolled over, so you can actually use a rock or abrasive to grind/sand down the lip, and the lid pops off, if you are truly in a situation with no other way to open a can
I have one of those whistles you're supposed to roll up money and stick it in there. It's kinda hard to do but once you get the hang of it it's a really nice thing to have
It is a sneak a toke not for money lol ;P

Do a cheapest Tent on Amazon and test it!
*places compass on level wilderness table, taps several times, waits 30 seconds*

"Is that Metric system or standard?" Standard is Metric. Only USA and 3-4 other countryes use the Inch system. You should search "International System of Units " .
I think uhhh, he gets that boss, I think at this point he does it just to make foreigners mad.
There's two types of countries in this world: countries that use the metric system and countries that have landed people on the moon.

Butterfly wrench I think is used to loosen or tighten wing nuts.
The compass works well if you know which way north is 🤪
Just figure out west. West will be where the sun sets, and from the compass, you can just determine north from there
Well i think since the compass is filled with oil inside it can be a little slow sinc oil can become thicker from cold or when its not moving so in a little bit of warm it will work as it should . Again my opinion .
I mean a compass is helpful but I don't need one if it's sunny
Now if Metric invented a foot alternative, you could sign me up, but until then, Imperial works for what it is.
..........you dont say 667 centimetres. You just say 6.6 metres.
When people like you stop getting butthurt over it.
dont like these "cheapest" products. I prefer the "budget" ones. Good products at an affordable price
Vicent Yie. yeah, hopefully he keeps buying more gradually more expensive ones to find a decent one.
I agree, get what you pay for, you don't have to spend a fortune, but maybe a little bit more then $9.00.
The small chamber in the whistle is for matches, u can put matches inside and it will be waterproof as there is a rubber sealed cap.
You should braid paracord handles though the key-rings on the wire saw
You use it to cut a flexible branch, and turn it into a bow saw!!.The hell with Paracord handles, just bring the Paracord!!
@ 9:49 Yes there is a cap lifter / bottle opener.
halnywiatr There's a better one in the metal card. It's the big almost-square hole.
Nothing like a driving screws in survival situations.
It's prob more for loosening screws to get to things or what not as opposed to tightening or driving screws in
@@austinjordan8840 Yeah, but being able to see is rather important in a survival situation. If the wrong screws become loose on my glasses, an inability to tighten them will ultimately result in losing the lenses. Without them, I can't read jackshit! So much for the nice map I brought along!!
Oh I've losted it in grass 😕🤣

Butterfly screw - is the nut with wings that you can tightened with bare hands, they fit in the straight cut on the card. The Square cut with a little insert is also a bottle opener
Actually metric system is standard
psychopath gamer lol ikr
He's an American making content in English, so for the majority of his viewers, the imperial system is the standard for day-to-day life. In fact, in his channel description, he even mentions "The American Dream", so it's probably American-centric content

I suspect the butterfly wrench is for gripping wingnuts.
Ah yes, that happens so often when surviving in the wild
I ran into 7 people last week that all had the Kungix. I was the only one who had personalized theirs. Thanks for the great idea!
you should put together your own survival kit like you did with the toolbox
I don't know why everybody is giving him a hard time about the metric system. Especially those people misspelling the word standard, lol there is no T at the end of standard.
Except that in many languages there's a T... Have you ever heard of non-native speakers?
Remember the OSIS survival kit?
the one with a comb?
Yes
The low tech whistle don't even work on that one.
The buttefly wrench is for butterfly/wing nuts
the butterfly wrench is for what we call wingnuts in the US, and the compartment in the whistle should be able to hold 1 or 2 matches
“Well, does the fire steel work?” *sets house on fire*
I think the case is the most valuable part of the kit. You could use it for your own survival gear.
haha
A butterfly wrench is used to tighten a wing nut easier than with your fingers.
the can opener on the survival card also works as a cap lifter, did you read the instructions to find it also is a compass?
I think that direction thing I think your suposed to put a stick in the gap then it can create a sundial so you can see what time it is. If you know it's 16:00 (4:00pm) then you know the sun is in the west. That way you can plot north?

I use the metric system as well though

Butterflies are the little twist on things with the 2 petals, hanging outward on opposite sides. I've seen them under tables and furniture, but that's all I can think of
The circular hole in card tool surrounded by dashes can be used as a sundial, in conjunction with the compass of course.
Please PLEASE start using the pocket saws as a blade for a makeshift bow or buck saw, that's how you use them.
TheUnknown777 Could you make the saw with whats in this kit?
Thanks for the detailed account! More people need to know about the 'advanced' use of these saws.
TheUnknown777 Hmm, The whole idea of using this saw with your hands only or even with a couple sticks seems like a "You're doing it wrong moment." Ha ha! Thanks for the thorough reply.
I wouldn't even buy a multitool for $10 let alone a whole kit to go with it!
The container in the whistle is not for keeping goodies. It is for filling it with fragrances and the keychain side also opens into a ball point. So it is 2 in 1. Works as a perfume and whistle
So, they do have the perfume and not the comb?
It’s nothing great, but looks like a great value for $10. The chain saw actually worked really well and didn’t hardly bind up. In a pinch, you’d be happy to have this kit with you. Also has room in the case for bandaids and other small items.
Great vid! At 03:39 - the instructional videos I have seen on that device wrap it around a stick. They only used the finger holes on the saw to cut the branch that would become the handle of the saw, and then they attached the saw as the blade of an improvised hacksaw. Then you could tend to a large amount of wood, and not worry about finger strain. /$0.02
Its not called standard its called imperial because believe it or not, most of the world uses metric
In America its the standard.
@@glick7192 lol another useless Thing in America next to The Potus
America uses it just fine, seeing as how most people use it on a daily basis,so I'd say its working well for us.
This product is great if you don’t plan to leave your family room.
🤣🤣🤣
I enjoy watching you go through this kit! I lol I needed to see this ! I bet at your birthday your cute opening presents! What is the best survival kit? Or should you make your own survival kit? ?
The “butterfly wrench” is referring to that slot used for tightening or loosening wing nuts.
You can open a can without a tool by scaping it across concrete.

HAHAHA, great video! The multi tool killed me, your comment about the hearing aid batteries, lol.
Ancillary direction indicator is potentially useful. Put it on a flat surface in a bowl of water and add a piece of magnetized metal to the center and you can use it as a compass. To magnetize ferrous metal try rubbing it on your hair or a bit of fur.
The hollow in the whistle is for pills dude for ex if you have heart problems you put your emergency pills in it
I got a similar whistle and mine came with a paper insert that has in case of emergency contact info.

I bet wing nuts could be considered butterfly screws in other countries. So the butterfly wrench is for them. Even though you can tighten them with your fingers.
