Personally I love mushroomhead and slipknot but it pisses me off when people say mushroomhead is copying slipknot even though mushroomhead was around first and their music style is completely different.

But skinny acts like the fans are the ones stirring shit up. I love shroom but don’t put up a front like you had nothing to do with it.

Yeah I had an encounter with a Mushroom head fan when I was 13 or 14 I knew the guy and knew he was drunk but at the same time I started to remember why this guy was famous in my town for beating up like 3 or 4 people at a time and left it alone

I was just watching a few Mushroomhead videos and was noticing the same thing. The comments are littered with comparisons. You don't see that all over the comments section for the Slipknot videos. Anyway, it just really bothers me how everyone goes on about who copied who and which band is better. They are both good and are actually pretty different when you take a closer look.

Maybe it's because Mushroomhead came first so their fans are bitter about it, idk? Anyway, I don't see that much of a similarity between them except for their elaborate costumes (which bands like Mudvayne have too). They're both nu-metal, of course, but that's an umbrella genre: Slipknot I would categorize as more thrash/speed metal with hip-hop influences, while Mushroomhead is less easily definable, like a mix of speed metal with symphonic and doom metal influences.
I am a diehard Mushroomhead fan, never been into Slipknot. But this was extremely wells said by Corey Taylor and I just gained a massive amount of respect for him.

I was a Mushroomhead fan and my sons mom turned me on to Slipknot. Slipknot now is one of my all time favorites, but its hard to say that because it art, its music. Corey has done some incredible work outside of the band and so has Jeffrey. I am currently on a "Jeffrey Nothing" bender.....I love "1000 years"! But I would die if both bands got together. I cant imagine a more epic combination! 11 years after this video and still hoping
Bill Guzman probably angry they didn’t take advantage of using road runner like how slipknot did. The opportunity was there for both bands to be with road runner but MRH (aka just skinny) decided that it was too corporate and didn’t wanna have anything to do with them. Look at the different paths now.

They could have all been great friends and done lots of tours, simply touring with Slipknot would have brought even more fans than they already had (since the Knot’s fanbase is so gigantic). Ultimately people want to start stupid shit about who was first, who was better etc. And I don’t mean to say that MRH doesn’t have a huge fanbase, but they simply never got that “big break” that they deserved, and looking back, a lot it is a result of their own decisions.

Slipknot is good. Mushroomhead is great. Slipknot is undoubtedly heavier than Mushroomhead. The difference is that Mushroomhead almost did what Slipknot did without a major label backing them and little to no marketing. All you people who say Mushroomhead is trash aren't listening to the same band I'm listening to. Mushroomhead fuckin rules and in their prime they were way better live than Slipknot was in terms of sound quality. I saw Slipknot live in 2002 and had a great time at the show. Personally, I'm a drummer and I've been a maggot since I can remember. I just started listening to Mushroomhead and they have talent but it's very simple. I mean simple. Slipknot is technicality and stamina. Drum-wise. Vocally Mushroomhead takes the cake but everything else...Slipknot. I used to think MH were posers. Now I know everyone's a sell out gaining on a trend.
A Slipknot and Mushroomhead tour would be amazing. Imagine this, a theatrical band only festival called NightmareFest or something (Just a name I came up with) with Slipknot, Mushroomhead, GWAR, Mudvayne, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Rammstein and Alice Cooper. That would make metal history 🤘

First of all, how would 18 people compose together a song for 4 vocalists, 3 guitarists, 2 bassists,2 keyboarders and samplists, 1 DJ, 2 custom percussionists, 1 DJ AND Custom percussionist and 2 drummers to play without it sounding like a mess?! Second of all, can you imagine 18 people on an official music video? A metal orchestra! Honestly though, it would have to be extremely well done and composed for 18 people to sound good.
There are actual composers who have worked with metal and could get shit done. I know Serj Tankian from System of a Down can and has composed classical. Take Apocalyptica and change the instruments, you could get something. The hardest part would be the vocalists and samplists. You could make it work.

I had the luxury of discovering both Slipknot and Mushroomhead at the same time. As a result, I simply never cared about the dispute (and I'm not sure I would have anyway, because it was pety and adolescent). They're both excellent bands and each held an equally special place in my heart.

I've listened to Slipknot my whole life and I discovered MRH like last year. And the comments against Slipknot piss me off. People just assume and believe things. Imagine getting beaten up at a Slipknot concert and finding out you got beat up by the actual members of the band more than a decade later.

Personally, I'm a drummer and I've been a maggot since I can remember. I just started listening to Mushroomhead and they have talent but it's very simple. I mean simple. Slipknot is technicality and stamina. Drum-wise. Vocally Mushroomhead takes the cake but everything else...Slipknot. I used to think MH were posers. Now I know everyone's a sell out gaining on a trend.

First of all, how would 18 people compose together a song for 4 vocalists, 3 guitarists, 2 bassists,2 keyboarders and samplists, 1 DJ, 2 custom percussionists, 1 DJ AND Custom percussionist and 2 drummers to play without it sounding like a mess?!
Second of all, can you imagine 18 people on an official music video? A metal orchestra! Honestly though, it would have to be extremely well done and composed for 18 people to sound good.
There are actual composers who have worked with metal and could get shit done. I know Serj Tankian from System of a Down can and has composed classical. Take Apocalyptica and change the instruments, you could get something. The hardest part would be the vocalists and samplists. You could make it work.

Mushroomhead are legit AF. Nice guys and awesome live. I just saw them play a small 350 person theater in my city and they changed their set to fit the venue's small stage since not all the members could fit on it at once.

Slipknot and mushroomhead have never sounded the same musically to me if you compare both Slipknot's self titled or mfkr and mushroomhead's debut album they don't sound the same at all the only thing that is the same is they wear masks as far as people saying which band is better well that's up to the listener because music is subjective I love both

Its rarely the band thats toxic, its mostly the fans, so im glad Corey Taylor would love to have a tour with them, i just started listening to mushroomhead and its a great band
I had the luxury of discovering both Slipknot and Mushroomhead at the same time. As a result, I simply never cared about the dispute (and I'm not sure I would have anyway, because it was pety and adolescent). They're both excellent bands and each held an equally special place in my heart.
I've seen both but to see them together would majestic af.

Slipknot was formed after mushroomhead....and sliknot is not copying on mushroomhead nor mushroom is copying on slipknot....mushroom style is very original their music is so different and good...as well as slipknot

Slipknot is pretty good. They have 4 or 5 great songs & several good ones, but Mushroomhead is on another level.
anybody who says that Slipknot is copying Mushroomhead or vice versa needs their goddamn ears checked, the two sound quite different, good in their own way and like Corey Taylor i would love to see that Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Gwar and Mudvayne tour, hell let's invite Lordi too while we're at it, would certainly blow my mind.
I've listened to Slipknot my whole life and I discovered MRH like last year. And the comments against Slipknot piss me off. People just assume and believe things. Both bands are innocent it's just people are biased. Most people have no clue to why Slipknot actually wear masks, it's not for art. Obviously MRH masks are way cooler because they have more freedom with art. While slipknots masks match their life in a way and changes as they do. For those of you wondering why Slipknot wore masks, they wore them because they didn't care about fame and didnt want people to know who they are. They just wanted to make music

I personally dont even think slipknot and mushroomhead are even comparable. I like both the bands and both of them have their own sounds. slipknot was much more successful I think because they toured the ozzfest for their first tour.

Dominic Cleveland Machine Head played after Slipknot. Coal chamber headlined. Nothing happened in the pit. I was there too. Maybe a confrontation happened off to the side with 10 people.

i was at that show, it was in like 99 or some shit, on the river in cleavland, it was coal chamber, machine head ,and slipknot, i remember the crowd yelling mushroom head the whole time slipknot played, and i kinda remember the clown guy gettin beat up or something,but thats about it. it was a fun show, heavynshit
