ATTN WIDE FEET: New Balance 996v5 and kswiss Hypercourt Express 2 also come in Wide widths. Be aware the New Balance has a slightly narrower toebox than the KSwiss even in wide widths. IF you have a wide forefoot and require more width at the tip of the shoe for your toes, I highly recommend the KSwiss Hypercourt Express 2 Wide and the Skechers Viper Court Pros Wide.
@@RacketsandRunnersPickleball I'm on my second pair of wide Hypercourt Express shoes, and recently purchased a wide Head 3.5 shoe. The 3.5 has air flow through the soles, and a thin mesh-like material for the upper. It has a larger heal-to-toe drop than the Hypercourt, which is it's main downside vs. the Hypercourt for me personally.
i rolled my ankle wearing running shoes, just got into pickleball and didn’t know there was diffidence in tennis shoes and running shoes. just ordered the ff3 based on this video. thanks!
Right on Luca, totally agree with your top choice, Solution Speed FF! I’ve been wearing them for several years and they hit all the boxes for comfort, cushion, lateral support etc. The only thing I will say is that the soles tends to wear out fast. Maybe that is cuz they use such a soft rubber for the cushioning. But I guess that is the trade-off for comfort. Thank you and keep up the great work! 🥊
For two years now I've enjoyed Adidas "Own the game" low basketball shoes. The 3.0 version now has more rubber around the toe which will help. I either don't play alot or I'm not tough on my shoes, in two years I've had two pair. I have found them in the 50-60 dollar range, which to me is amazing.
Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour are being used by several of the top pros along with the Babolat Jet Mach 3s. Surprised neither were tested and placed on the list
Would also love to see the Skechers Viper Court Pros (Tyson McGuffin’s shoes) tested and placed on the list, too which comes in at a cheaper price point as compared to some on the list and both the Mizunos or Babolats
This! I'm using the Wave enforce tour and the comfort and durability are unmatched. Used to be exclusively into asics but the asics fall short in comfort and IMO the outsole tread didn't hold up nearly as well.
Love the NB 996 v5, very comfortable, great support and the lateral movement is awesome never twist or trip over them! And best of all the toe box is big!
Thank you for your time and posting. Been using court shoes for years, they usually last 6 months. I now use regular Sketchers. Have had no problems and it's been 8 months with lots of wear left.
One thing you're missing is if you hold the shoe at both ends does the shoe bend up at the ball of the foot. If so, it's not a good shoe for support. I have a stress fracture in my foot because of my tennis shoes, Wilson Pro, due to this. Do any of the shoes you showed not bend much up in the toe bed?
Very good vid! I'm a rec player (once a week 2 hour session). I find that because singles PB has more tennis movement, a more 'structured' shoe (closer to a traditional tennis shoe) works better and for doubles a lighter/PB-specific shoe works better. Ranking the shoes I have- for singles I love the Babolat Jet Mach 3 (also good for doubles) followed by the Adidas GameCourt2 (most 'traditional' tennis shoe). I also have the Babolat SFX3 which is basically the Jet Mach but with a wider, more flexible toe box. For doubles and in general my fav shoe is the Sketchers Viper Pro because of its balance between lightweight, comfort and and structure/build (only nit-pick is that tongue is a bit thin.) My first PB shoe was the original vipers, which are the most comfortable and feel light, albeit, they don't feel as durable as the rest. Sketchers are 'comfort fit' so their normal sizes are a tad wider but they also carry true wide's. I haven't had any durability issues with any shoe but I don't play as much as others. I do consider price and have not spent more than $70 on a PB shoe. I'd love to try the K-Swiss/solution speed. Ed Ju just did a vid on a shoe by Montis but im looking for more reviews on it.
I mostly play indoors on a laminate floor. I've had trouble with the edge of my shoe sticking to the floor. My arm is in a cast right now due to my foot sticking. Is there a better sole material of some kind to wear on these types of floors?
Love the Asics Gel Res 9's. I'm very hard on my feet/legs and I need that additional stability they provide. They keep you locked in and you never have to worry about rolling an ankle when moving side to side. I did put in an aftermarket insole for additional support. Keep up the great work Luca
Luca do you a top choice for cushioning for us suffering from knee and hip pain? Need a roomier toe box. I like light shoes but not at the expensive of shock absorption.. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Im going to be honest I’ve never played pickleball on an indoor court but you CAN play every shoe mentioned here on that material. If you want the best traction though go for something with a gum rubber outsole.
the main thing is the outsole! Choose those sneakers that do not wear out in 2 months. I bought expensive Lacoste and Adidas Ubersonic, they did not last even 2 months
I'm a wide shoe guy. I tried the Skechers Viper Courts, Skechers Viper Court Pros, Kswiss Hypercourt Express 2, and New Balance 996. I can definitely recommend all 3 (Skechers viper court pretty much not necessary since the PROS came out unless you want a better price). I will say that as nice looking the New Balance 996v5 (fuel cell editions), the toe box is a bit more restrictive than the others. So if you have a wide foot and require good width across the toes as well as the forefoot, look to the skechers and KSwiss.
Good info! Super informative! I am a beginner and am not quite ready to invest in pickleball shoes. I do have some old school pretty sturdy Nike tennis court shoes and some mid high (to help support my ankles) Nike basketball shoes. Those should get me by until I make more time commitment to pickleball, I hope...
They definitely should be lighter than the average tennis shoe (at least stability tennis shoes), but some of the best lightweight court shoes are tennis shoes.

Yes. I definitely should have mentioned this.
Thanks! I've been looking for wide width court shoes!!
Babolat Jet Mach III have Wide variants. Best option I have found.
Are there shoes best for women, esp with a little wider forefoot

I wouldn't get jet Mach 3s again they don't last
@@dash6351 I’ve not tried them myself, but they’re just popular, but durability may be an issue given how pricey they are…

I have the NB996 v5 Pickleball shoes and it’s the first shoe I’ve gotten compliments on.
Which of these would you recommend for someone that needs the best stability because of prior ankle break?
Are these good for indoor and outdoor? Thank you for your reviews
Or basketball court shoes. My go to is Nike Precision 6. Super comfortable and stable for very similar movements.
I mostly play indoors on a laminate floor. I've had trouble with the edge of my shoe sticking to the floor. My arm is in a cast right now due to my foot sticking. Is there a better sole material of some kind to wear on these types of floors?
I have a narrow foot and Achilles tendonitis. Which of the sneakers has a heel drop of at least 10mm and would be at for Achilles tendonitis ?
I have the same issue at the heel insertion point...I heard that the Vapor Pro 2 causes heel issues......Check out other reviews for Vapor Pro 2.
I don't have the drops but I think the Hypercourt Express would be your best bet.

Li Ning Wade all city 11 is my go to. Best outdoor shoe created!!
What’s the best pickleball shoe for flat feet?
The Gel-Resolution is always a shoe I recommend for that!
An underrated shoe if you have flat feet is diadora blushield torneo 2
Do any of them have a WIDE option? I'm using running shoes from Salomon in Wide.
New Ballance had W and Extra W. Same with Sketchers.
@@Mr.DJones Thank you. Correct. Looks like, the wide and extra wide are only available from NB store.

There is nothing like the Montis Drop 1.0 Game changing.
What about the sketchers viper courts
We don’t carry them but I’ve tried them and I’m not the biggest fan.
I avoid giving my money to Nike, so I'll try the solutions (if there's women's version?). Thanks for the pro breakdown!
What’s wrong with Nike?
@@elijahmendez1476 Probably due to its wokeness agenda.
what about mizunos

i would suggest water shoes due to the lack of movement in pickleball
I love my Bobolats
No bull court shoes mid tops are pretty sick
solution speed ff3 has been wearing super fast for me also
They also are NOT a comfortable shoe. Had crazy Achilles soreness using the FF3s
It’s not the longest lasting tennis shoe but for me at least the rubber is well situated to stop upper wear.
New balance pickleball shoes suck I wore through the bottom and less than two months.
Dissing table tennis shoes without any knowledge… 😅
Terrible website! It's locked at size 8 width D, and can't seem to change those!
