Yes! I couldn’t believe it when he said “Hi, I’m PJ of PJ1”. A really nice bloke and we chatted for quite a while. When I said I was surprised that he’d taken the trouble to phone me, he said he values his customers and wanted to explain how the EU had ruined his product. The minute I used the EU stuff, I KNEW something was wrong. Quite honestly, it’s not worth using. More EU nonsense, imo….
Unfortunately they were so good they were often converted into trikes. They had an infamous problem with the second gear…not on every bike but it cropped up regularly. The fix was dremelling the dogs or replacing the gear itself…both of which could be done from underneath, albeit a right pain! I once fitted nitrous oxide to one….now that have beaten your GS1000…….but not on corners!
A great video young man, I have used this on my KawasakiGPZ550 D1 and it’s fantastic stuff. I’ve had two cans for over twenty years and it’s still good.😊
Heard a similar tale a few years ago now, regarding the European version being rubbish & to source the American one. I can’t remember how they managed to get hold of the good stuff though.
Maybe a few heat cycles 20-30mins apart help bake on bike.Black Brake caliper paint is heat resistant & is what I used to paint the logo's on both sides of engine casings. This stuff is a match to your XS1100 black paint though.
Well done James! Funny he phoned you! A good story. Yep, that EU...yak!
Have a nice weekend!

Yes james,a friend had a trike with an xs1100 motor,he used to terrify people with it as they sat on a bench seat with nothing to really hold on to
Used to be fantastic. It changed a few yeats ago. Its a poor cousin to what it used to be. I would buy the US spec stuff. EU stuff certainly brown.
Nice to see the US spec is now available. I bought a couple of tins for future use.

Well, if your two cans ever run out, you’ll be pleased to know the original formula is still available!

I couldn’t find anyone in the US could send it by airmail. I think someone has had a consignment delivered by sea?
James, Do you have to bake the cases, or can you let it air dry?
I’ve always found it better to bake them. The instructions now on the tin don’t specify this but they used to….they said air dry, then bake

Did you use the Satin or Gloss black?
@@tomasprieto9746 satin black……
@@internetpolification when I used the satin it came out more flat and almost like a dark gray.
@@tomasprieto9746 I bet you weren’t using the USA formula then. The EU product is totally useless. I did a video about pj1…..
@@internetpolification I’ll have to double check the can, I’m in the U.S. and ordered the product through Amazon.
