Tons of Cherokees have these same transmissions, or one virtually identical. I learned that during a rebuild on our 95 Cherokee as they had to order parts from Toyota.
Yes because the transmission in the Cherokee was built by Aisin a company owned by Toyota.

Do i need to drop the Transmission Crossmember to get the back side of the Transmission pan? I tried and there is no way to get around it. What should I do?
That has to be the smallest trans pan and filter I've ever seen.
I've searched all over youtube and there is no clear videos of either transmission removal, transfer case removal or engine removal for the xj. I have a 99xj and a 97xj going to put the engine and trans from the 99 into the 97, any suggestions or links would be friggin sweet dudareno
Mateo Hacienda so go online and do a free download of a FSM. It will have all the steps you need to do whatever you want
Can you buy a transmission case with a drain plug if you don't have one?
I know that you can weld a drain plug in, I don't worry about it to much cause i have a manual transmission and dont change the fluid very often.
On dodge 46re trans pans you can drill a hole and just pop a rubber plug in it its not pressurized

That is a Toyota A340 Tranny, same thing as a AW4 Auto from the Cherokee.
