    The slipping would come from the worn out clutch packs not torque converter. Simple trans to rebuild well worth the trouble.

    Using the rubber hose is ok as long as you keep the correct length. If you miss the length you will misread the level on the dipstick. While it may seem that it won't matter the level in these trans is very important.

    • @OutJeeping
      @OutJeeping  5 років тому +3

      Changing solenoids shouldn't cause any slippage, its in the torque converter where that would happen. But having bad solenoids could result in improper shifting. You should be fine changing them out unless your fluid is black and smells burnt, which is a sign of the torque converter going out. If you were to change the fluid when it was black you would have slippage problems with the new fluid.

    • @MrMrsregor
      @MrMrsregor 5 років тому +1

      if the solenoids are bad then they need changed.!. dont put off fixing the real problem in fear of changing the burn fluid ! your trans will not shift or it will try to skip gears if the solenoids are bad

    • @OutJeeping
      @OutJeeping  3 роки тому +1

      All automatic transmissions may be different so I would recommend looking in the owners manual for the correct amount. When all fluid comes out from the flush, make sure to shut off the Jeep right away. That is the amount the transmission can possible pump out at the time. It can be repeated after new fluid is in and reflushed to get an even better fluid color.

    • @OutJeeping

      roger ballard Dark burnt fluid is best to keep in for the life of the transmission. It contains clutch fibers that have worn off the torque converter and the fluid will still have friction to operate. If the fluid was to be replaced the worn out torque converter wouldn't be able to work properly without that extra clutch fibers, then it would result in slipping.
