EDIT 01/11: RIP Fate the Winx Saga, I guess... I'm not even sure how to feel about it. I know that some people will be really disappointed though, and I sympathise with that. I'm kind of sad too, because (not to be melodramatic) Winx's future feels uncertain again: For better or worse, it felt like Fate had revived Winx. But more to the point, I don't know if people would still be interested in a rewrite? It feels almost disrespectful (not to the show, but to the fans I guess) - like let the dead sleep kind of thing...??? One of the reasons this video took so long was that, honestly, I was paralysed with anxiety, because I think most people ended up liking season 2 much better, and well... I know that the some of the criticisms I make in this video won't be popular, but I hope that you can see that it's not just about hating on the show no matter what: It's about having respect for the original, and this new premise, and the effort behind both.
I think you have you legitimate criticisms you should feel free to share them! A lot of the critiques you made were ones many professional critics have also lamented on, ones that I personally had as well!
I wanted long-haired Valtor. Literally my favorite villain in the show I loved the idea of him being Bloom's opposite, the darker side of the Dragon Flame. sigh
24:50 UGH YESSSS BRING IN THE BLACK CIRCLE LMFAO. I remember watching that season and actually being like genuinely scared of them as villains. Then again, I was young then so idk how I feel about them now. But like damn, I even said while watching "Are we getting The BLACK Circle?"
I really disliked season 2, but I knew they literally couldn't do anything actually good without giving us whiplash from season 1, so this season was doomed in my eyes anyway. When watching it I didn't even realize Sebastian was Valtor because that's how invested I was (zero, nothing, nada) and only noticed when someone else told me about it. I got so furious because they massacred our favorite villain to a shadow of himself and the worst part is how I was talking to my partner about how Valtor as a Blood Witch could had worked if done right before knowing Sebastian was actually Valtor. Valtor was charismatic, he loved to make himself known and stand out in the crowd, he had, as you said, these highly sexually charged interactions with everyone just to manipulate them and that was his biggest thing. This Valtor felt nothing like him, he was more of mixing in the crowd and had the opposite to a threatening aura and even less of a sexually appealing one. OG Valtor was so memorable specially from a design perspective and this one is just the most boring and plain looking dude. Anyway, I also didn't like Flora, she was p pointless but just like half of the characters this season and Bloom had the biggest Mary-sue savior complex I've ever seen. You know you are writing your main character awfully when you get people to actually feel joy when the character is presumed dead.
Wow you literally summarized what I couldn't put int words since I finished season 2. So many interesting subplots are dropped by killing the characters who bring the mystery. So many new mysteries introduced that don't have enough time to be explored and build up.
yes, it's underwhelming😔 on the one hand, we're supposed to treat it like it's its own thing, on the other hand, it won't commit to the alternative elements it introduces...
@@talkytilki my guess is that its because the creators are lazy. Winx is easy money for them. This is why they aren't putting any effort into creating something on their own or into making a good adaptation.
Another thing is that I do not like How the Dragon Flame is portrayed To be this Dangerous Magical power or something like In the OG the dragon flame was pretty much creation in fate it was made for destruction?
*Spoilers* I hated the last episode where Fara was gonna tell them the secret about transformation magic and they just skip that whole part and suddenly they know how to do it
@@emilypaul3432 true, but how was THAT the "secret" that had been lost for generations?... Also, Bloom didn't do that really, she just channeled a shitton of magic.... so.... (I like elipses, sue me)
I think for Beatrix situation, in the original winx club, fairies and witches have the chance to choose to become either one where fairies can be witches and witches can be fairies ! Like for Mirta she was a witch but she became a fairy and Head mistress griffin was a fairy but she became the headmistress for the witch School?? Beatrix could definetly be in that type of situation, a theory of mine is that Beatrix is actually a Changeling… Think abt it along with the whole Ancestral witches thing, she coudlve been born in a fairy being but she was destined to be a witch along with her sisters mentioned Isobel and D’arcy
Ngl I actually completely missed the fact that Sebastian was Valtor the first time I watched the show, it wasn't until I watched a review of the show where a commenter said that he's the son of the original Valtor? Or something like that
I really hate that they're bringing in Darcy and Icy I know that she has electrical powers but she was supposed to be all three of them. Yes she has stormy's power but she has Icys conniving leadership and most importantly Darcy's storyline (where she dates riven) the only way they can bring in a different Darcy is if she's not the same person and that scares me because I've seen what this show did to the other characters.
Bloom just comes off as Stubborn with her decision making and kinda dumb She stopped being a brat which is good but at times when the last episode when everyone is getting ready to fight bloom flexed her dragon flame to the girls saying "I need to do this" implying to me at least I have the power im the chosen one its like "OG bloom would never act like this"
Yes. So cringy "i have he dragon flame so you just shut up". She literally goes from sucking at magic and whining about how bad she is to being like "but mah dragon flame!?!?". This character is truly insufferable but that's only one of the minor clues that Brian doesn't care about the original story nor his own story... Just wants to capitalize on nostalgia
I've not watched the show past the first episode of the first season, so I have no informed opinion about the second season. But this was an excellent breakdown even for a non-viewer and I'm looking forward to your rewrite!
I’m honestly writing my version because the show could have been better but it was so bad, like the creators didn’t even care about the winx club and what made it amazing.
Worse they hated source material with strong passion. Hardly ever Netflix adaptations aren't travesty. Butchering Witcher and introducing toxic messages hurt me deeply. They have lots of scandals on their account. Like Cuties or 13 Reasons Why (series led to increased number of suicides). Most recent is making documentary series about black Cleopatra. Egypt sued them for 2bln dollars. I don't know how come such thing as Netflix can exist in USA. Netflix has become a national shame for USA
I honestly believe that Sebastian was Valtros son, he kept mentioning him and said he's from ancient war, plus if Valtor is his last name then his father was also Valtor. If thats the case then we could get the true Valtor as the big bad of season 3
Musa actress Elisha apple baum is actually a person of color, she is majority middle eastern and is mixed white and 1/4 singaporean… She is brown skinned as said in her resume and she is an Israeli Jewish who can speak an West Asian langauge Hebrew fluently. You can also confirm that in her Instagram because she wored traditional ethnic clothings that seem to be from middle eastern culture. She is actually West Asian with a singaporean descent but is seen to be white passing at the same time. Though lets not be ignorant and acknowledge the fact that she is still part a person of color !

Even IF she is somewhat middle Eastern, you don’t have any proof to back this up and just being 1/4 Singaporean isn’t gonna cut it. And middle eastern and East Asian are two different things. Also she has very small amounts of middle eastern and Asian and isn’t even Jewish SOOOOO.
