I'm not even ten full minutes into this video and these are all spectacular ideas. I love the idea of Luna being changed to Cassandra. Adds something for the old fans while also being a familiar trope (a la Cinderella) for the new. The idea of Aisha's arc starting before she becomes more rebellious is a stellar idea. If they're going to have her appear a season before she originally did, why not start her arc further back? Amazing!
I love the idea of introducing Musa as a witch and Roxy as someone who can finally compete with Bloom's leadership. Your video is so interesting to listen to and reimagine not just Fate series but how Winx show could evolve as girls ( and fans ) grow up
6:32 You read me like a book...it was a bit awestrucking. I have been watching winx since I was a kid, revisited the show through the years, especially season 3. Now, 23 years old, I have realized that I have transitioned from Flora to Stella and thought that it was the fact that we are both Leos. Your observation brought up a very interesting aspect for me and gave me food for thought. Amazing videos and very informative. Thank you
this was so good!!! your points are great and i think you explained them very well! i used to be a huge fan of the cartoon to the point it was my first experience in online fandom, i made those dark transformation edits and all, so i really hoped the show could've respected the source material and actually used elements of it to tell the story they made up here, like you said. if the world we live in was better we'd have gotten the glitter camp y2k moment everyone wished this had been, but it's sadly far fetched! so i like the approach here, that it could've been a better winx club story even within its bounds. like season 4 was definitely the little self insert gritty adventure arc of the show, and would have really made for a better dark adaptation. roxy even has that edgy oc kind of name... (also then the sherlock point at the end ??gjisijgisg so true...) i never got access to the other contents like the comics, so i'll be really happy to see what you have to say about them if you make those future videos! good luck with the channel
Omg that’s so nice! Thank you so much🥺🥺🥺My first comment!!! That’s so cool that you were making Winx edits; I was obsessed with them as a child!!! Also I’m a bit annoyed: “a better Winx club story even within its bounds” is the perfect way to describe what I was trying to do. I was fumbling so much trying to articulate the aim of the video, that’s why the intro is so long kskskskks I really do want to make videos about the comics; they’re on a completely different timeline. The inconsistencies drove me up the wall when I was little, but actually the comics had their own self-contained canon. So I hope more people will read them. (Also the comics had some really cool cover art, so if we could revive them, then maybe Rainbow can fix their merch situation and use their old original designs instead of, well, stealing other people’s.)
okay accidentally stumbled upon your channel after searching fate the winx saga reviews and im officially obsessed. your rewrite is AMAZING, i love the way you thoroughly analysed every aspect of the show and added so many interesting twists whilst respecting both the original source and the direction the new one is trying to follow. i'd love to read a fanfic of your rewritten version lol. cant wait to see your new content, keep up:)))
You wrote such an interesting concept with Tina(tecna), Lisa(musa) and Flora being not only the trix but also being older than the other girls, also, i feel like Musa and Lisa should co-exist, imagine the possible plot for the older, air fairy sister, who uses magic to create sound waves and make songs, and the younger, specialist sister, who shares a love for music but doesn't have access to the same abilities as her sister, the angst, the drama, the possible parental comparison, i love it Also imagine Tina meeting the main cast being like: Tina: hello, I'm Tina, but my friends call me Tecna Bloom: Why, are you some sort of tech wizard?!(reference to an early season 1 conversation) Also, making both Tina and Musa specialists could be such a good thing for them to explore, how their relationship to each other and Lisa affects them and the rest of the group
What I would have done is have FATE version Musa (I'll call Lisa) frustrated about her powers and lack of combat skills. After learning about the burned ones (or whatever the antagonist) Farah decided to bring in some of the older students, So of course Flora, Techa (as either a specialist or fairy), and Musa, Maybe Nabu (as either a specialist or fairy), Timmy and Brandon. They don't know what's going on they were just asked to come in and help teach few classes When the WINX version of Musa is introduced to Lisa, Musa helps her get creative over coming her weakness, in addition to training her as a specialist.
It seems like "Fate" could've been decent IF they just had watched the original show or (at least) did some basic research on it. You know, as you do when in charge of adapting a beloved and successful property into a live-action. 🙄 Anyway, amazing video!
Ooh interesting. My personal theory is that she is dead dead… Apparently in the book (I didn’t get that far personally 😂) when her eyes glow she is actually trying to cast a spell on Rosalind rather than defend herself (although casting a spell on Rosalind = defending herself???🤔). But then often these books aren’t perfectly canon so maybe…👀👀👀
Tecna is my favourite character in fiction. Not just in Winx Club. Because she's the most relatable character in my opinion. Have her not included is just disrespect on those who are favourites of hers. I find it hard to express my emotions and connect with others.
What excuse could they have for not including her? She could have had Beatrix’s powers or been a specialist. But no. So what are we supposed to think except that they didn’t include her because she wasn’t “traditionally attractive”, and wasn’t as sensitive to social cues…
If you didn't mention that was the 1st video I wouldn't be able to guess it. Very good. Love you perspective. Please made one about season two, and what might be coming on season 3
Oh thank you so much 🥺... but I do know that the intro and conclusion are too long which is a beginner mistake🥲and I am annoyed by how slow I speak, so everyone watch it on 1.75 please!!! The next video will be a S2 review, because there are some wider issues that I want to address first, but I will most likely also make a Rewrite and speculate about S3. I will just need a break between the two videos though, because my life has been oversaturated with Fate recently :') Thank you for your support!!!
Thanks for fixing aisha ,as black girl who loved her old version because of the good character writing it sucked to see her being a steriotype of a black mama or magical negro, always taking care of bloom like she doesn't have her own problems or life, even if it's not going to tge original series,it still nice to see someone changing that on a fan re-write
Daphne is the most underrated and retcon character, she is supposed to be the Elder God of Winx Universe, the opposite force of Lord Darkar. I want her to be mysterious and unique, don't want her to be the sister of Bloom. I want her to be the first user of dragon flame. Making sisterhood relations made Bloom such a Mary Sue character, especially in later seasons. Daphne, Tecna and Darcy were my favourites.
Muse's backstory has been change Musa's The original story mother was a singer muse musa wanted to be a singer Her dad was against the idea because he doesn't want her to end up the same way as her mother
They should have just kept all the original aspects of the show. A magical fairy tale world, Alfea like it used to be, the Trix (they brought the spark), Better casting for a couple of Winx fairy's, the original story, The Witch academy and Boy's academy (forgot their names). Of course a couple of extra backstory to certain characters can't hurt, but don't change everything. The love action should have followed the original shows plot with here and there a few extra's.
Here are each character, what season and what type of fairy, Special or Witch they are. Witches are basicly dark magic versions of fairy magic but not always evil. Bloom, Fire Fairy and intro in S1. Stella, light fairy and intro in S1 Aisha,Water fairy and intro in S1 Flora,Nature fairy and intro in S1 Musa,Air fairy, and intro in S1 Tecna, Specialist and intro in S2 Roxy,Mind Fairy and intro in S2 Sky, Specialist and intro in S1 Brandon, Specialist and intro in S1 Riven,Specialist and intro in S1 Helia, Specialist and intro in S2 Timmy, Specialist and intro in S2 Nabu,Witch and intro intro in S2 Dane, Specialist and intro in S1 Icy, Water Witch, and intro in S1 Darcy,Mind Witch and intro in S1 Stormy, Air Witch and intro in S1 Valtor,Fire Witch and intro in S1 Ogron, Fire Witch and intro S2 Duman, Mind Witch and intro in S2 Anagan,Nature Witch and intro in S2 Gentlos, Air Witch and intro in S2
OMG HIIIIIIYYYY (im so excited to see a comment 😃😄😃) I’m working on two videos right now, one of which is a Fate S2 review (even though I haven’t finished watching it yet. I marathoned the first six episodes, but just haven’t wanted to finish it for some reason - but I will), so I think that video will come second. But that’s just a review, I hadn’t thought to do another rewrite? 🤔🤔🤔But now I think I will 😁 it takes very little positive affirmation for me to do something… It will take a little time to brainstorm though, because I feel like this season was even less connected to Winx, but I definitely have some ideas! Did you have anything in mind? I would love to hear your thoughts!!!
Loved the ideas, Netflix should've gotten fans of the OG animated show to help make Fate 😭 although Fate season 2 is a definite improvement so thank goodness for that hahaha
Hello! Yes, I am working on a review for S2, and I am brainstorming ideas for a rewrite too. It's all just taking very loooong 😭😭😭, because it is very complicated to fetch screenshots. Also I had to waste time editing my 10,000 word script down to 4000, because it truly was not healthy or sane🤣
It’s hard to get immersed into the world of Winx through this show because if you take out the context there’s little to no magic shown on screen and too much focus on unnecessary triangles 🤦🏻♀️ the costumes and the sets feel so uninspired compared to the original material. Also I hated Beatrix, she is an extremely boring villain imo btw Musa switch with Darcy is such a genius idea 😍 plus a great way to switch up the story. She could have then become a villain in later seasons
Yes, I do agree tbh. Unfortunately, it’s not even really trying to be an adaptation. (tbh I was scared of being more honest about all my criticisms, and being harsher on BY, because I feel like the tide turned has turned from the initial collective dislike of the show, to anticipation for season 2. And I also don’t want to beat on that feeling either, I am actually looking forward to season 2 too. But if [or when] season 2 is bad then I will go full anti for all to see🤪) I think I like Beatrix because she is the only character where I don’t feel personally attacked every time she’s on screen. And Sadie handles the bad lines much better than poor Hannah😁, but I do find it kind of disturbing that as the only actually teenaged cast member at the time, she was given the most explicit on-screen content.
This video is amazingly and extremely interesting and unique. I loved the humour and it was clear that you have thoroughly watched and love the show. Your ideas provide a new insight on how absolutely horrible the adaption was, both as a stand alone piece of media and even worse as an adaption. Fate failed in every possible offence. The outfits and settings are bland and uninspired, and they could have done so many things with the style that they chose, but did none of it. The fact that we don't even have the real Winx Club but instead have Aisha one season early and watered down to the 'black bestfriend' stereotype, Musa whitewashed and without her proper powers, Bloom as an angsty pyromaniac teen with mummy issues, Stella as an unlikeable and obnoxious drama queen, and who tf is Terra, and why should we care about her. Her only character trait that ties her to the show is the fact that Flora is her cousin. And speaking of Flora, where tf are her and Tecna? It's an absolute disgrace and a blatant offence to the Winx Club fandom. If this was supposed to be fanservice, Netflix failed in every possible way. The way that Young sits on his high horse and talks about breaking gender roles when the original already did that, as well as attempting to address fatphobia and homophobia but failing because it was written without sincerity or true understanding. The CGI is boring and does no justice to the fresh, interesting and colourful graphics of the original show, and speaking of colours, we were completely robbed of the transformation outfits, wings and songs that made Winx Club. Having a different transformation every season, sometimes two, even three with three subsets, while it is a cheap marketing move, was part of what made Winx Club so unique and fun, and while the quality of the show definitely deterioriated Season 6 (even 5) onwards, the show still held on to the colourful nature and sci-fi elements that made it so beloved in the first place. I hate to think that in the future, as someone who grew up with the cartoon, this will be children's gateway to Winx Club. Winx Club didn't deserve to be done dirty like this, and if I were in charge of the show at Netflix, I would discontinue it out of pity for the poor fans who had to suffer through watching it because they thought it would be a faithful adaption. Thank you for reading.
Nope; I really enjoyed that rant. You sum up my thoughts perfectly. The insincerity oozing out of every pore of this show is my biggest issue with it. Soulless.
The story in itself is actualy pretty great. You know with the burned ones and bloodwitches. But the worldbuilding is the problem. The 'Other world' is not the magic universe. The characters appearance and personality don't match, it is pretty strange. And i gotta say i get that they want to reach a more amture audiance but to be fair, Winx Club has never always been happy go lucky. So they didn't have to change the world buikding in order to get things more mature. There is or well was lots of potential but they didn't take the chances they got.
True if they didn't like that primordial witches were bad guys and stated high tech is bad they could do it gradually. Techna despite being a part of Winx Club would betray them later to become a technocrate and is would be the main villain and Trix despite being villains at the very beginning would befriend with Winx. It could all be well received if they started with lighter themes and colours and gradually went darker. The way they did it is just Harry Potter wanna be full of crappy propaganda.
The show could have been such an add for fashion companies like Versace or Dolce n Gabana. But it was a failure. Even if they took source material the way it is it would have been good. Most of the time Netflix doesn't know what fantasy is and how to write it
Look, I'm a hard OG Winx fan, but I was really looking to Fate succeeding. I know that this is an adaptation for new viewers and that changes need to be made. But if you're going to make an adaptation, make changes that make sense! Does it make sense to whitewash the characters? Doesn't make sense to reduce the expansive Intergalactic Universe of winks into another unoriginal dark Academia? Does having another love triangle make sense? Does making the characters hate each other make sense? I know they're still getting to know each other but geesh even complete strangers can respect each other better than these kids! I'm not asking for a carbon copy of the original show. I demand new imaginative CHANGES THAT MAKE SENSE!!! I demand a SCIFI-FANTASY hybrid with proper LGBT rep., racial rep., and unique fashion mix of Gen-Z & Y2K, not Sex in the City. They could have made changes like shipping two of the main girls together, make the witches a war-torn survivalist tribe, hint that fairy tale creatures, such as the fairies, are secretly aliens from another dimension, give specialist a history and explain their importance, etc. I could literally go on for days! But instead both old and new viewers are given just another botched CW teen angst show trying to cling on to the fame of Harry Potter. Would have been nice to have a show that was worth remembering.

I must say, I’m completely sold on the season 4 adaptation. Roxy focused show would be something I absolutely would watch. Great vid!
Thank you! And… dare to dream? Maybe one day 👀

Thank you for your support!!!
@@talkytilki I don't mind longer videos, specially when they are about something that I like. It was interesting front beginning to end.

Season two was sort of better it still has the issues it had in season two but at least it now has a plot, something that season two didn't have.
The show could have been such an add for fashion companies like Versace or Dolce n Gabana. But it was a failure. Even if they took source material the way it is it would have been good. Most of the time Netflix doesn't know what fantasy is and how to write it
In the second season of Winx fate womb find her mother

Techna is still deserved better for not being included herself in this
İ hoop Roxy Comes in Fate
