    35's going on a 3-4ish inch lift next week, thanks for the video. I plan to just have a crap ton of down travel and bump stops.

  • @yerwrng

    35s were big in 2000 when a 44/9 combo were beef . A 6-8 lift spring full width' 60/14 10 inch rear stretch 3 inch front bump stops and fender cutting gets you 44-47s properly bump stopped on an xj...kind of puts 33-35s in perspective.

      @@Mr1985Badass I never checked it before the gears, but it got around 13-15 average with mixed driving. It wasn't great, but right in line with any truck or SUV lifted on 35s. The gear swap definitely helped with drivability. With the stock gear I couldn't climb up stuff, even in 4 low. It would just bog down. I could only run 55 in OD, but after the swap 75 was manageable. If you're going larger than 33's, you need 4.88s IMO

    • @jnork5005
      @jnork5005  7 років тому

      Jared Bettger The travel is limited by your shock length. As far as death wobble, the track bar is generally the culprit although I've had it happen because of ball joints and tie rods as well.

    Hey man, I’m fitting the same wheels and tires on my MJ. I’ve got the IRO 3-link up front with a RC 4.5” lift. My question is, will I only have to trim my fenders and Wells to fit these properly? As far as your tires rubbing the lower control arms do they clear?

    • @jnork5005
      @jnork5005  6 років тому

      Mine don't hit the control arms. I trimmed a good bit off my fenders, especially at the rear. I had to cut and fold the inner fender seam and (massage) it with a hammer. I do rub on the inner unibody at full lock, but it's so little I can't even tell other than missing paint there

      @@Mr1985Badass it's best to measure since every ride is unique. It's easy to do, flex it and measure. You'll need a spotter so you don't crush a fender. I think I gave myself around 3/4" of space between the fender and tire in case I hit something hard.

      WoOsKii 1 not sure of the up travel measurement. I have about 3" between my bump stops. At full stuff my tire is about 3/4 to an inch from my fender. It will be different for everyone depending on fender size and wheel/tire combo.

      +JNork Thanks that helps alot! I'll measure the space between bumps now while it's still loaded. I think I have the same size tires as you(35x12.5?) I have good tire clearance, Im just worried about up-travel (or if my stops are too close and will limit performance) You can probably tell I'm new to Jeeps/4x4 LOL.
