    I'm about to put in a 2.5 inch suspension lift kit. Have my eye on a 15x8 wheel and 30/9.5 tires, with 4inch backspacing. I would like to keep my stock fender flares intact (fine with some bumper plastic trimming if needed. Do you see this as being a rubbing problem? If so, would tuning bumpstops accordingly rob me from a lot of articulation in your opinion? I won't be rock crawling, just a daily driver that performs well on rough terrain/offroad with disconnected swaybar. Appreciate any knowledge you could drop!

      I had a 3 inch with on the same tire and stock rims with no issues. If you had any rubbing it could be fixed with a longer bump stop. You can find a 1" longer bump stop and cut it down if you need. I think with your sway bars connected it would never get to the point where it rubs. If you disconnect your sway bar it might, but the bump stop would fix that.

    Oke how to lifting add bigger tire for light offroad without trimming and rubbing? Now thats a challenge

      A would say a 3" lift and some 30" or maybe 31" tires would be just right. I ran than for 5 years on one of my XJ's. No rubbing, looks good and is capable too.

      @@ProjectXJ how about 3,5 inch lift and 32s?I don't plan to do crazy flex lol

      @@theweknd6946 you might need to extend your bump stops or just not remove your sway bar in order to avoid rubbing with a 32.

      @@theweknd6946 don't forget about your wheel backspacing too. A 32 is probably 10.5" wide and could rub while turning. You probably want aftermarket wheels with a 4.5" backspacing unless you want to run wheel spacers, but i am not a fan of wheel spacers. If you do get them, use hub-centric ones.

      My wheels are 15x10 with 3.75" backspacing. I haven't had any rubbing issues. What control arms are you running?

    Can u put 17s stock wrangler rims on without lift and no mods?

    • @ProjectXJ
      @ProjectXJ  Рік тому +1

      It has a tj bolt pattern which didn't come with 17's. Jk's have a 5x5 bolt pattern so you would need to run spacers that change the bolt pattern, but that is all you would need.
