I mean both his parents were scientists and assuming they’re research scientists, make on average 120k yearly. Then twice that salary for both parents.. they could have just bought the whole damn swamp 😂
They still can, deer scientists don’t exactly live in super expensive cities. Generally they live near the deer, where a house today only costs $90,000 on the outskirts of town
“Run boy!” That legit is some awesome characterization for the hermit. Like, he’s given up on everything in life to get the werewolf and when he know he’s screwed, he knows to tell the innocent kid to run and not just save himself. Mmm, that’s some good shit.
IIRC one of the things R.L. Stine says is a core element of Goosebumps in order to make it scary to kids is that the parents are always completely useless and dismissive. Because when you're a kid your parents are like your ultimate safety net, so making them completely ineffective or outright hostile makes the situation infinitely more terrifying to a child.
And you don't believe in guns... I was like outside crazed crackheads you have a literal buffet for predators and you live out in the middle of nowhere let your kid run off by himself etc. These parents wanted their kids to die

In the book the hermit survives and carries Grady back home after he goes unconscious from Will's attack. Wolf/Vandal had saved him and it's actually unclear what happened to Will. Grady is confirmed a werewolf in the end. This was my favourite Goosebumps book.
We don’t see that girl that Grady and Will travelled with either, even after Wolf chases Will into the swamp. Would that be an implication that Will got her? Interestingly, in the show, she never appears, but Will mentions that a kid fell into the swamp’s bog a couple years prior, and I can’t help but wonder if that’s her place in the show’s version. Likewise, we have to wonder about Will’s parents; in the show, it’s mentioned that the Hermit lost his family forty or so years prior- Will is obviously not that old, but the Hermit accuses him of killing his wife and children. This makes me wonder if Will’s parents were werewolves and the Hermit is unaware, but the book doesn’t have that issue. We don’t even see Will’s parents, as when Grady’s father went by the property where Will was supposed to live, no one was there.

Let's not forget that we also got to see the skeletal remains of Will remerging from the mud right before the kid starts howling at the end. Pretty brutal episode since there were deaths involved such as Will, the hermit, deers, and a rabbit.
I just find so amusing how the family was willing to take in a stray swamp dog after their son told them he got attacked by it, but somehow a dead wild rabbit is enough reason to put the dog to sleep . How the hell do they think he survived being stray in a swamp?
I live in the mountains, the dogs dug a mole out of the ground and killed it next to the garden. Our response was "Good dogs!" Moles are really destructive in gardens so they literally just helped out with pest control. This was last week! Dogs drag back all sorts of crazy dead crap too. Entire deer pelts with the head still attached but nothing else, an actual bear skull once.... It's just different up here, animals are killing each other all around you all the time so you just kinda get used to it. There are bears, mountain lions, fox, snakes, hawks and eagles killing everything smaller than themselves all the time. It's just part of living in the wilderness, swamps included. "Whatcha chewing on boy? Oh, a chunk of ribcage you found in the bushes? Have fun with that!"
NGL my ears perked up a little at the theory that werewolves invented the silver-bullet myth as a means to disarm the people they were most likely to cross paths with. Wasn't expecting an allusion to historic classism in a low-budget horror show for kids. If that's in the book as well, R. L. Stein might be an even cooler writer than I thought.
Slight correction: the moon doesn't get covered by fog in the climax, it's a lunar eclipse that was foreshadowed by the mom earlier in the episode. There's a lot of good set up and pay off in this one, like how Will fakes getting caught in the bog early on and then actually drowns in the bog at the end.
The clip of the hermit eating that chicken has been bookmarked in my brain since I was like 6. Every time I eat wings, fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, or anything like that, I play the whole scene in my head.

@zacharylund6926 That was an episode of the rebooted twilight zone series that was hosted by forest whitaker in the 2000s that you are thinking of. It starts with a family moving into a suburban planned community that has really strict rules and when their rebellious teenage daughter refuses to conform the “authorities” haul her off. We next see her parents spreading fertilizer from a bag with their daughter’s name on it, onto a tree with her name on a plaque.
yeah, i remember this goosebumps special being a stable of my childhood. the old hermit guy creeped me out more then the werewolf did. plus i found the werewolf boy's death kind of messed up and sad for a kids show.

This episode did scare me as a kid, especially when the wolf skull emirged from the swamp in the end. But ill would say that the wolf skin 1 & 2 episodes took the cake of terrifying me as a kid.
I'm like 94% sure scientists would not move their entire house for this study, they would probably work out something with family members house sitting and just be in America for a few months
Werewolf Skin was the one that gave me nightmares as a kiddo. The idea that you have these people who live with you that you suddenly cannot trust. The feeling of you knowing something and dearly hoping they aren't aware of that. The underlying threat of what they might do if they figure out you know something while you're interacting with them. The creepy, overly friendly demeanor.
The graphic novel of fever swamp, the yetti, and the scarecrow walks at midnight was always great read ! Plus being a werewolf guy I always thought the book and the movie were absolutely killer! You need more of these guy🎉
20:37 I know it sounds unbelievable, but there are dogs around the size of the dog in the episode that have killed animals much larger than deer. For example, watch a news video on UA-cam called *Pit bull kills 500lb llama* Adult deer usually get around 160 pounds. Some dogs are really strong and really tough. Though, to be fair, the dog in the Goosebumps episode is not of a breed that was bred to take on animals such as wild boar and cattle like Pitbulls were (Pitbulls can be seen even today being used for wild boar hunting), but it is possible for certain dogs around that size to take out animals as large as deer.
@@SlashXIV I haven't seen that yet, so I am going to have to say no. However, the mom probably though the deer, in a panic, jumped through the window and died either from injury by the dog, getting cut on the glass, or both.

@@CheapCreep Disney brought out a Goosebumps show a few days ago. Each episode is based on one of the books but it's all the same characters throughout the series and somehow the episodes will cross with each other. It's pure garbage tho.

Thanks Hunter you make the season a bit bearable with these looking forward to your October content we little people the fans you call it appreciate it your part of the nostalgia now 36 god I'm getting old
Will has been on screen for about 3 seconds, and the second you said “he starts talking about his family” I know it without a doubt is gonna be the hermits dead family. I would bet my life on it lmao
Idk why but I'd love to see papameat on game grumps. Him and Danny would have such great interactions.
I could listen to meat canyon talk about anything for hours and just constantly laugh
26:39 me after i don't shave my balls for 5 minutes
This episode did scare me as a kid, especially when the wolf skull emirged from the swamp in the end.
But ill would say that the wolf skin 1 & 2 episodes took the cake of terrifying me as a kid.
I absolutely love the death metal bands you rep in your videos. Keep it up!
15:43 The "wer" prefix means Man, so wereperson would mean "man person" lol
god 20:57 fucking killed me laughing 😂
Samee
I'm like 94% sure scientists would not move their entire house for this study, they would probably work out something with family members house sitting and just be in America for a few months
Werewolf Skin was the one that gave me nightmares as a kiddo. The idea that you have these people who live with you that you suddenly cannot trust. The feeling of you knowing something and dearly hoping they aren't aware of that. The underlying threat of what they might do if they figure out you know something while you're interacting with them. The creepy, overly friendly demeanor.
Most of the werewolf episodes are pretty good (same with the were cat)
Hell yeah werewolf swamp was pretty forgettable compared to skin
Seeing them shed their skin was burnt into my mind
Will wasnt even remotely friendly
also camp warewolf where it tuned out in the end they were aliens or something like that
Lols that ending slays me
The graphic novel of fever swamp, the yetti, and the scarecrow walks at midnight was always great read ! Plus being a werewolf guy I always thought the book and the movie were absolutely killer! You need more of these guy🎉
"I dunno, my grandma's a dumb bitch." - Papa Meat - LMAO
13:29 that made me laugh real good
You seriously make some of the most fun and entertaining content on UA-cam! Ty for making this spooky season extra spooky! 😂🎃🐺
this one was my favorite of those books as a kid! curse of camp cold lake and stay out of the basement were favorites, too
24:58 Killed me with this dude 😂
This feels like a John Tron Special feat. Meat-canyon
Grady's a shaken-baby-werewolf
20:37
I know it sounds unbelievable, but there are dogs around the size of the dog in the episode that have killed animals much larger than deer. For example, watch a news video on UA-cam called *Pit bull kills 500lb llama*
Adult deer usually get around 160 pounds. Some dogs are really strong and really tough. Though, to be fair, the dog in the Goosebumps episode is not of a breed that was bred to take on animals such as wild boar and cattle like Pitbulls were (Pitbulls can be seen even today being used for wild boar hunting), but it is possible for certain dogs around that size to take out animals as large as deer.
do they also throw them through windows?
Two full grown deer? No, they don’t lol especially not a border collie lmao
@@SlashXIV I haven't seen that yet, so I am going to have to say no. However, the mom probably though the deer, in a panic, jumped through the window and died either from injury by the dog, getting cut on the glass, or both.
@@patrickburton1401 I don't think the dog in the episode is a border collie.
Pit bulls were bread to take down BULLS so yeah
In the book the dog was called "wolf" because he looked like one.
That part with the dad talking about getting rid of vandal probably reminds hunter of his grandpa
As soon as you said Hunter Biden pops out I laughed harder than I have in a long time Thank you for that papa ❤
90's media turned us all a little weird
I used to watch this episode over and over again for hours. One of the best episodes for sure.
Ive always had a soft spot for "The Mask." That episode creeped me out as a kid when she couldn't remove the mask when it adhered to her head
24:40 Ok, hold up, there’s no way Grady is a werewolf, the howls outside indicated that someone else is the werewolf and he’s not. And we don’t know what to the swamp hermit, and there’s a possibility that those howls were his
Grady literally was howling
In the book, it ends with Grady running off into the swamp, with Vandel.
I had the haunted mask and night in terror tower on vhs myself. Goosebumps was just about everyone’s childhood. Great vid thanks for the memories!
Please review the new horrible Disney adaptation of goosebumps that came out a week ago
Stein must have been desperate for cash to put his brand on that dumpster fire of a series. I couldn't bring myself to watch past the first episode.
Nah he’s better off reviewing goofy stuff not Disney garbage failing due to implementing PC shit.
The what?
@@CheapCreep Disney brought out a Goosebumps show a few days ago. Each episode is based on one of the books but it's all the same characters throughout the series and somehow the episodes will cross with each other. It's pure garbage tho.
The first episode is based on "Say Cheese and Die" but the episode was maybe %30 related to the Goosebump book and the rest was just a character introduction. And not a good one either.
Better Help is a scam.
Why do you say that?
Yee could u explain?
@JAHN7 Poor service and unqualified psychiatrists. Waste of time at best and harmful for life at worst.
I love the new channel, great editing and style!! I love werewolves, I hope you do a horror episode about all the good werewolf movies. Dog soldiers, bad moon, the howling are 3 of my favorite movies growing up
I like how Hunter turned into Barf from spaceballs at the end.
