Best guides on the site! Everything's very to-the-point and clear, while still going into minute details. Starting out, I'd watch multiple guides to have a solid understanding of what to do, but these would've been all I needed. Thanks for what you do!
As a Greatsword main that's facing Elder Dragons in Iceborne like Velkhana, this has actually helped me a lot. Thank you for this guide. Knowing how to use the weapon is a big deal, & because of you I learned some new tricks. TCS, Tackle & Slinger Burst is what I need practice on. Like for example, for TCS I never knew you had to time it, I just assumed you needed to keep holding it or press the button again to get the maximum damage, I now see how I was wrong in using it. I've also seen videos of other Greatsword mains use Tackle to get hyper armor, but I never quite understood the benefit of using tackle. I was also too afraid to experiment with Tackle, as I continue facing monsters, that I'm not used to fighting. I'll need to practice using it going forward. Slinger Burst is my favorite tactic from this, to help with positioning & achieving TCS. I'll be going to the Training Area to practice using these methods. In case you're wondering how I made it so far with being unfamiliar with these tactics, I was mostly carried by skilled hunters, often using the SOS. There's also one tactic that has really helped a lot that was mentioned in this video; The Hit & Run tactic. It's actually saved my skin in a lot of fights & should not be underestimated, no matter how good you are. As a matter of fact, I'm so used to using that tactic that I don't even need to practice it LOL. But I will start trying to experiment with other tactics. I hope to become a Greatsword master someday as I continue with my MHW series I'm doing. Thank you for this video, they're the closest I have to having an actual Greatsword mentor. Left a Like & Subbed!

@@nox6497 thank you for recommending my guides to your friends. I do believe the basics are important yes and some of the advanced stuff branched from understanding the basics.

i didn't even realize this was posted just two hours ago, i was looking for a good gs guide since i got into it yesterday and found your video. nice guide!
Great guide, dude! Just to point something at min 11:01 the tackle doesn't give you stun inmunity, you still can get stun while tackling but that's something you get when doing it in a row, like tackling 3 times in a row you'll get stun the 3rd or 4th consecutive tackle.
oh really? I know Rise tackle does not provide stun immunity, because hyperarmor in Rise was nerfed. but I was pretty sure in World we cannot get stunned through hyperarmor. But I'm curious whats the real answer now, can we get a confirmation? thanks for pointing out btw I also want to know now.
SoupDeeDoop back at it again. Was surprised when I heard that voice! Hope you're doing well. Nice guide, I'll definitely pick up Great Sword in Iceborne. Question: is it a thing in this game that hitting with the center of the blade deals more damage? What about certain hitting timers, like with Insect Glaive where hitting at the very end of the animation deals more damage?
@@Tomix4k yes GS in iceborne still deals slightly more dmg when u hit at the center of the blade. Its 3% extra. Actually many weapons have this effect, including HH. I just dont talk about it because i doubt most ppl would do it
