hey guys, sorry I did not check the uploaded version properly, there are some footage in the video that are frozen, but u can hear the sound of the footage because they are supposed to be moving in the project, but my PC was having issues when rendering this project (its in the repair shop now), so it froze my clips without me knowing and I missed them. They happened here: 9:28 the clip froze when I'm showing the draw attack spirit blade 1 (no big deal) 19:28 the clip was supposed to show the hits spreading to unwanted spots when multiple body parts are within the striking path, but its frozen (this one is important, sry)
Not only are these the best MHW weapon guides, but they are also made for us forgotten mouse and keyboard players! Thank you so much for continuing these!
Na fr though this makes me so happy. I've never been a console fan despite playing ps3 and 4 for a lot of my childhood i always felt more comfortable with mouse and keyboard as i just felt like i had more precision and reacted faster but man a lot of games have god awful pc controls
Most players on PC are mkb. The controls are actually really good. I'm like the lone controller player in my group on PC because the souls series convinced me that action RPGs are bad with mkb. How wrong was I lol.
This is the best longsword video I have found by far!!! Amazing detail!!! You are the grandmaster here and I hope to see more content with MHWilds releases!
Amazing tutorial. Even I, as a LS main, learned something new. All info is relevant and good paced. I'll recommend you if somebody will search for a guide. It's a bit early, but I'll wait for the guides same quality for Wilds 😄
My friends have gotten me to play MHW with them, a series I've never played before and they all have, and I recently picked up the long sword. Man, do I ever wish this tutorial was around when I did! Not only is it broken down nicely for noobs it also covered stuff I had to watch multiple videos for and I STILL learned new so things! I knew foresight slash was important (and I'm still bad at using it) but I didn't realize how important until now. Also the amount of times my helmbreaker missed because I was too far back or the monster flinched??? really wish I knew sooner that I could move forward with it! Fantastic tutorial! I'm definitely taking notes for our next play session
Glad you found the guide useful for you. Everyone knows foresight slash is useful but rarely have I seen people discuss or teach about how changing the direction and angle of foresight slash can really change your gameplay. And yea you can move a little during helmbreaker.
This video is a gem. Thank you so much Mister TorpedoSoup. I've been searching for a comprehensive video for so long regarding ANY weapon and this one is the best one by a long shot. You've managed to provide such in-depth info regarding the weapon mechanics without needing the listener to already know how the game works. I'm a brand new player (played for less than a week) and I've managed to gather so much useful information from this, it's honestly stunning. You, Sir, have made a long sword main out of me. Heading to the training area asap.
glad to hear that because my goal for these guides is to provide both the basics as well as some advanced tips so that new and old players can benefit, so this actually makes me happy.
I've watched a lot of guides for MH over the years and this one may be the best. I love all the little details that most people never talk about (like amount of spirit gauge generated from different attacks) Thanks for the great video, and the PC controls
Amazing Video. I've been playing this game for about 40h now and after watching this Video I just realized how ineffectively I've been using the longsword. This is going to improve my Gameplay by a ton. Thanks a lot !
Just stated to play LS, and wanted to have a proper guide to learn every details about the weapon. That's the best guide I've ever seen, keep up the good work man, ty soooo much
I experiment with this weapon and see the accomplishment it is, in a simple resume is beatiful. I'm glad to see a guide about the Sword And Shield, because is my favorite weapon
This guide is incredible. Jam packed with useful information. I love how detailed and specific each move is explained. Goes over all the important stuff. Damn i was doing longsword all wrong!😂
Learning longsword for the first time and this tutorial is amazingly thorough. It's especially helpful being done in mouse & key. I agree with the comment of the AI voice putting me off at first as it almost made me leave before the video really started, but I'm glad I didn't. I will definitely be coming back if I ever want to learn another weapon. Cheers.
Absolute GOAT, you're the best for making these 🔥 I'm an IG main and Gunlance + ranged weapons are the only ones I'm totally uncomfortable with at this point... Can't wait to see one of those from you
Thank you so much! With my upcoming schedule, new guides are looking unlikely for now. New stuff happening irl. But always appreciate the support buddy!
Great guide as usual. Nice! Would like to add, overhead slash > fadeslash > spirit jumping slash > thrust > SB3 > roundslash is slightly faster than step slash > overhead > fade slash >spirit combo. The only downside to this is if you didn't hit a weakspot cause you will have insufficient gauge.
LS is the only melee weapon I don't know how to play yet. It didn't really catch my interest but what does catch my interest is to learn every weapon and this video is the best oportunity ever, love ya!
Man I really want to thank you for the work you are putting in this videos. Found out your channel with HH guide and it helped so much, then I picked up CB thanks to your guide and had great fun with it, and recently I hoped you would upload the LS, and boom, here we are, perfect timing. Hands down best weapon guides on yt, godspeed 🙏

Please do this with every class hehe. Not even capping these are the best tutorials. I main sns cuz it's fun and straight forward but I'd love to dive into either the ranged weapons or the heavy hitting ones
Great great guide mate, appreciated. I'm a returning hunter, after like 5 years of break. Heard about Wilds is gonna release soon so I wanted to get back into shape and clear that Iceborne dlc which I havent before. I loved Longsword and was decent with it but I'm so rusty, needed to remember what's up and this video explains everything perfectly, thank you.
Wanted to say Thank You cause in a round a bout way you made 2 HH mains,my Master a small Streamer called Teco learned HH because of your HH Montage video and now i'm learning the basics and advanced techs with him. Ironically i'm an LS main that's why I was surprised to see this video especially since I learned about you 2 days ago because of my Master.
very glad to hear that! oh yes I do play all the weapons I just main HH and play it more. The reason the guides come so late is because of how long it takes to make each of them, pretty much impossible to release 1 weapon right after another.
Not only is this guide in depth, it also does not contain cringe words that say "Press X" or "Press Circle". One of these best guides i have seen. keep up the good work.

I suck at doing damage with my weapons, I hope when I switch to longsword a new weapon that I will kill monsters more easily especially the shrieking Legiana I am still at (it fled) but the information quality of this video is pretty good so I'm looking into it tomorrow

thanks so much for this! I have World and Iceborne on my steam but have yet to play them (Currently playing Rise on gamepass). But i want to ask, are the iai sheathe and clutch claw from the iceborne expansion can be used from the start of the base game? Because I really love Iai sheathe in Rise
Thank you. I think some people just like to complain instead of moving on from content they don’t like. I can respect people preferring a human voice, but you can tell these are just senseless complains just for the sake of it. They choose to pick on the one thing that don’t matter instead of focusing on the actual content. Using an AI voice gives me 1 less variable to worry about when it comes to quality control, so that i can focus purely on delivering the information that matters.
