    Bigger turbo + intercooler + tune is better path IMO. Less stress on the engine. Loving my BNR T67. 330 whp

    Great info. Ive been debating on fully forged internals just to be on the safe side, but my power goals aren’t high. 290-300 is what i want to have. Reliable and consistent power to have fun at the track.

      Theres no reason to build the motor for the stock turbo

    I just want to clear some things up. A cold air intake is not necessary for these cars on stock turbo. Changing the air filter to an open ended air filter is all you need to do.
    Intercooler will get you 20-30hp gain. An intercooler only ST will always dyno out to around 240whp(stock is 222whp). The stock intercooler in the ST is a parts bin item. You will find the same intercooler in a ford Fusion, Explorer, and so on... You should also look into charge pipes to keep you running consistent. Stock charge pipes are made of rubber. Enough said...
    Do not mess with your fueling. You will not make over 300whp with stock turbo. I literally bought a powermax turbo ($1,000), a depo racing intercooler ($300) and made 300whp. I did not buy a down pipe, no exhaust, no E85, no cold air intake. Your problem making power in these cars comes from the garbage intercooler and the hair dryer of a turbo that they come with. This vid has knowledge behind it but isn't 100%...

      Yup, I've seen intercoolers add as much as 40 whp. You can't really make over 300whp on the stock turbo without meth injection.

      I e owned my focus st3 now for about 6 months. I had an audi s3 before this and can honestly say it was brilliant but long story short I got the focus and I like it but I do find it torque steers alot and is it worth adding more power to a front wheel drive that struggles to handle the power it has? Don't get me wrong I enjoy this car and I've had similar cars in the past I'm just after opinions from people who have tuned their focus to see if it's worth it and their views? Appreciate it 👍

    • @jesuscarrillo4344
      @jesuscarrillo4344 Місяць тому +2

      @manchesterwlc The torque steer can be fixed with an aftermarket rear motor mount. The factory mount is soft for comfort driving. Its not designed for "spirited" driving.
      As for is it worth tuning... It depends on what you want. A fun, quick daily driver? Intercooler, intake, exhaust, and a tune puts you around 280whp. To get the extra 20hp to max the stock turbo is a money pit. It's better to swap the turbo at that point. The fuel system caps out around 380whp, and the upgrade is $2k. Stock internals cap out around there too. People making over 400whp are keeping their fingers crossed on every start-up.
      If you want a fast vehicle, get a different car. If you just want something that can get you to from point A to point B and have some fun on the way there, the ST is a great pick. My plan is to buy a 2013-2014 Mustang GT as the fast car and have my ST as the fun, quick, 320whp every day car. Plus it's easier to fit my boys into the ST versus a Mustang.

      @manchesterwlc
      Yes it's definitely worth upping the power.
      As mentioned a torque mount will help massively with getting the power down.
      I'm currently running Revo stage 2 which gets you 290-305 hp at the crank - never had mine on a rolling road though.
      It's fast but not overkill for use on public roads😬

    Hello.
    Can you still reach 300bhp with all the upgrades but without the ethanol? Many tuners are claiming it can be done even with the stock turbo.
    Cool video by the way . Keep them coming

    Great Focus ST video, most stock focus st actually dyno at 230whp 9 times out of 10 but still not bad.. if anyone here wants to know more about modding the mk3 Focus ST, i have owned my focus st since they first came out in 2012 and i have done basically everything... i have videos on mostly everything you need to know from modding to building your engine or RS Head Swapping. My videos are not highly edited like this guys channel but do provide the info you need!
