Is there anyway to disconnect the pats system I dont want to fix it because every time i loose the key it costs me $200.00 bucks. On the starter relay 87 doesn't close 30 power is sent through 85 and 86 which energizes a coil that magnetically pulls 87 and 30 switch closed which allows power to go to the starter I'll explain ... 87 is constant power key on engine off and when you turn the ignition switch to start it sends power to 85 through 86 that energizes a coil that magnetically closes the switch between 87 and 30 then power is sent to the starter a relay is a switch that controls a bigger switch Just to clarify I'm Adam Jackson ASE certified technician on my wife's account just realized that LOL

This more a technique to test cranking ability/starter condition and not to get the car running. But it will get it started on many cars. Mostly older vehicles prior to 2002. With newer vehicles often the anti theft and pass lock systems will prevent it from actually running. To answer your junkyard question it depends if the engine is still wired to the vehicle. If it is then do the technique in the video. If not, send 12 volts to the starter via your jump pack. This should atleast get the engine to turn over. Which is ultimately what you want to verify (the engine not being locked up). Hope this helps
If you paid attention to the video youd realize the key/ignition was faulty & not working. No crank/no start smart guy 👍. Only way I could start it was with the method I show in video. Atleast until I repaired the fault. Thanks for the view though! Hope you subscribed 😉

Not everyone got a probe tool, so if you dont have, you can just jump connect pin 30 and 87, with ign on , just for the info
It's me adam again you could take the plastic cover off the relay and manually work the switch inside the relay

A bad engine control module and corroded wiring. A bad combination that took a lot of diagnostic time

If it's an older vehicle possibly but most newer vehicles need the ignition voltage to start

@@stephendees291 pull the EFI relay on the fuse box. It'll shut off the fuel pump and the car will shut off.
