The XGT is the best hammer drill in the industry right now and it's not just raw power that makes it the best, like the man said it just sounds and feels different than the competition, I have both and the best way to describe it is the milwaukee is like the 70's muscle car and the makita is the modern lexus V8, both make the power but the makita is so much smoother and easier to control precisely.

I have the Makita 40v hammer drill Ann’s a couple of months ago I picked up the Dewalt DCD805 hammer drill. The Makita is a beast, but the Dewalt in masonry seems to be much better, faster, effortless.

Makita has always been the best highest build quality Home Depot just hawks Milwaukee so hard so everyone falls for them but there's a reason Home Depot only rents out Makita stuff. Going from red or yellow the second you pick up anything Makita 40v it just oozes quality.

I’ve been running Milwaukee now for four years great power as a framer. I’m constantly having to drill and screw for larger applications and I love my drills and I swear by Milwaukee I started up the XGT line 2 years ago, and very recently purchased the drills. They are magicalto say I don’t think they have the same amount of raw power as the Milwaukee but are 1000 times more versatile and at the cost of fractions in comparison to Milwaukee not in price because they are more expensive but for a very good reason

    Thanks a lot for this!
How do you find the runout on the chuck on these two drills?
Is the runout on the Milwaukee as bad as some say?
Perhaps you could do video about this topic, comparing Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt, Flex, Metabo and others if relevant.

You would think a 40v tool would dominate an 18v but admittedly I do not understand voltage, watts and how that translates to performance. I use both Milwaukee and makita (18v) and love both brands. All manufactures make some really good tools and some not so good, but I think Milwaukee and makita do a good job of having more hits than misses 👍

Voltage doesn't matter that much, they could in theory get the same power from 4v pack with same 20 cells.

Higher voltage runs cooler and longer than a lower voltage. The way Milwaukee has power is the amperage output through the battery is slightly higher.
But Milwaukee batteries can easily overheat, Makita batteries won’t do that.

    • @AzeveidoMateus
      @AzeveidoMateus Рік тому

      Watts is power
The formula for watts is Volts times Amps. (Technically voltsxampsxpower factor but I’ll keep it símile)
So to achieve the same power with a lower voltage you need more amperage/current flow.
As long as the wattage of the tool is the same then regardless the voltage of the battery you will achieve that same amount of power because the amp draw will compensate based on the voltage.

At that level power means nothing, now every brand premium drill driver are very powerfull. Now what is important isn't to have the most powerfull but , the best ergonomics, confort , safety and easy to use and for that milwaukee is far from makita for those things.

Makita is much more reliable than Milwaukee. Better build quality as well and won't overheat. There's a reason why Home Depot rents out Makita and not Dewalt or Milwaukee. Milwaukee and Dewalt are simply more popular because Makita tools are more expensive and they are harder to sell than the other two. @@davids.3725

That’s actually a really interesting phenomena, corded tools, historically are more powerful and they can be, but because there is less demand, there’s simply less innovation, so if that is even possibly the case still, it won’t be long, aside from what you’re not going to see is as many options, safety features or ergonomic components as I said, simply less innovation
