Thats because it impacts slower, yes has more torque but 97ft lbs the torque doesn't play quite as much of a factor as impacts do the impact driver hits much faster than a wrench, if you were dealing with higher torqued nuts or bolts then yea the torque would be a bigger factor

I have a gen 4 he definitely tightened it with the gen 4 then lossened it back up, not saying it won't take one off a air gun put on but there's at least 1 sec of impacting to do it

Lol You must not know much about the torque of a lugnut on a tundra, the tundra is only rated for 97ft lbs on everything besides steel wheels, 97ft lbs is nothing for an impact like this
I had that problem at work. I got tierd of buying adapters so I seen here on you tube a Frankenstein impact basically swap it the 1/4 for an anvil. I went with 3/8 and use that for everything to this day

Why do so many people use impact drivers instead of wrenches? The wrenches will transfer more power and be significantly shorter to get into tight spots. Plus you won't be chewing through those tiny little 1/4 socket adapters every time you need the full beans of the tool 😂 use the drivers for construction and wrenches for automotive lol
If every shop decides to listen to that advice there would literally be no running cars left because all the shops would be completely overloaded. Try telling someone who lives in the rust belt that they can’t use an impact to work on cars anymore, they’ll laugh in your face.
These impacts do not like socket adapters nor are they made for it. If you want to shorten the lifespan of your tool then do this with it. Cool demo, I have no doubt that the lug nuts were torqued to spec. This is not a semi people don’t know shit.

A 1/4 hex drive breaking those free that quick? I dont know. I just got the 2854-20 3/8 ane it has to impact a few times to break lugs torqued to 80 ft lbs on my 96 civic. Torqued with a snapon torque wrench
Even with with the 1/2 inch wrench impacts, with this impact driver only impacted about two times, plus you GUY I'm not just trying out on lug nuts I actually use it for real world use with what I have at hand
No way lug nuts come off that easy with 150 pounds of torque. They were not at spec, don't care what you say. Torque it to 150 on video amd then try that. You're not the only one that owns a Milwaukee Gen 4 impact. There are plenty of UA-cam videos of the exact opposite done by professionals.
Wrong tool for the job. Use a 3/8 or 1/2 inch impact WRENCH not a 1/4 impact driver. It's like using a pair of pliers on a large nut or bolt instead of a socket or adjustable wrench
