That's not a trip, that's a pilgrimage! Paying homage to the literary greats whose writing we all love by visiting where they lived and worked is a most worthy act.
I agree that Jakes cover looks amazing. The cover to that Clement book reminds me a bit of the movie Gentlemen Broncos. Thanks for sharing, Michael. Happy reading.
Stay well, Michael. We never want to see you having to dress like Roger. Oh, what a great box! Good for you! I am sure we will have more opportunities to say Merry Christmas, but I hope you feel well through the season.
Tour De Lovecraft is great! Kenneth Hite has written a bunch of great Lovecraft-adjacent stuff; his annotated The King in Yellow is my go-to version of that collection.
Christmas came early to Vaughn Manor this year. I'm a big fan of sending random boxes of awesomeness to family and friends. I did that for my elderly parents before they died and they were as excited as kids on, well, Christmas, even if the box arrived in July. "The Green Archer" by Edgar Wallace looks intriguing. I'm going to put it on the slopes of Mount Toberead.
ooooO pressies! Beautiful snowy cover, that art style or artist is familiar, memories of very old novel books, story books, and big boys adventures. Very kind and thoughtful, wild west and sanity blowing mythos, screams holidays.
Great box there! Lots of goodies. My father claims “The Last Trail” is the best western written. I do believe it is an installment of the Border trilogy (sometimes called Ohio River Trilogy) alongside Betty Zane and Spirit of the Border.
Seems like a lot of great stuff. I just read the Case of Charles Dexter Ward in the Klinger annoated Lovecraft and the Old Gent from Providence used a lot of real places and real history in the story. Makes me want to visit New England. I believe the Green Archer was an influence on DC Comics Green Arrow.
Awesome Michael! Such a variety of cool stuff and I love the knife.. Loved watching you open all those boxes. Such amazing vintage covers. Perhaps I should look out for Zane Grey for June On The Range. Hope you have a wonderful festive season. Happy Reading! 📚
I need to read at least one Zane Grey book in my life. I've been a huge M*A*S*H fan since childhood. One of the characters (Col. Potter) loved Zane Grey. Not that it would matter to a fictional character what I read or don't read. But fandom is weird like that. Baseball novels? I would be up for that!
Dialog from the film _The Third Man_ : Holly Martin, American writer, in post-war Vienna giving a lecture: Audience: What writer has influenced you most? Holly: Grey Audience: What _Grey_ ? Holly: Zane Grey. Whereupon the audience walks out.
Roger is trying to sneak off. By the look of him I think he may have swallowed your clock. I know - he's building a time machine so he can become Future Roger and duplicate himself A La Dr. Doom/Kang. Trouble is that clock is only right twice a day.

I wish we all had a friend like Mark👍

That was fantastic! Thanks, Michael, and to Mark, for his great thoughtfulness and great taste!

The exciting box aside........you are looking exceptionally dapper today Michael. Love the waistcoat and tie colour combo!
He definitely wins for Best Dressed UA-camr!
What a wonderful gift box! So many unusual treasures! That Tour de Lovecraft looks particularly intriguing. Nice job, Mark!
Merry Christmas to you Michael. Joyeux Noël from a French follower. 🎉
The Dark Adventure radio shows are awesome. The Dagon one is my Favorite.
Wow. Michael, those vintage hardbacks, with complete, and near complete, dustjackets, won't have been cheap. I wish I had such a friend.

The "always cut away from yourself, Roger" while giving him the psycho stabbing was hysterical, it's always a pleasure to be in your company!
Poor Roger. If there's ever a medical emergency and someone needs a supply of bandages ASAP, he's a goner.
ooooO pressies! Beautiful snowy cover, that art style or artist is familiar, memories of very old novel books, story books, and big boys adventures. Very kind and thoughtful, wild west and sanity blowing mythos, screams holidays.
You need a ceremonial dagger to open such marvelous gifts from friends.
Stunning Zane Grey editions

Wow. Did not know the cds had extras with them. I need to check that out.
“I’ve got your book, Fillinger. Miss Dorothy.” (LOL).
Merry Christmas to you Michael, and everyone at Vaughan Manor!
Those are amazing gifts that you surely deserve! I really want look up those radio cd sets now!

Cool knife, Bro! I hope the box of goodies helped with the recovery! Sorry about all the packing materials!

The bottomless box of goodness! Awesome!

An early Merry Christmas wish to both you and Roger! Thanks for all your efforts!
Cutting away from yourself is very good advice for Roger in particular because we don’t want him to unravel. I’m glad you’re feeling better.
You will enjoy Shakespeare's Planet. It is really good.
Roger's trying to sneak out of the video to commit more heinous acts of dark magic! Don't let him out of your sight!
Awesome box! I need to take a Lovecraft tour in Providence.
Black Santa chillin in the back 😂
Hmm, City is in my unread Kindle stack, guess I'll have to get round to reading it sometime....
Well you are spoiled :D What a lovely gifts you've got.
Look out though... you bumped Roger out of frame... you never know what he might do!!! XD

The Green Archer. . . seems familiar. Wonder if he's a comic book hero.
When you have so much you don't know what you have.😂😂😂😮
What is this "going out and having adventures" thing? I need to learn it.
Hope you continue to feel better!
Great box o' goodies
Good Morning Sir Michael, roger Mr Clock
Awesome indeed, New Readers of the Purple Sage! Happy reading!
Cheers Al TheGoldKeyFourcolorkidownunda
Call me Ishmael. I missed you and missed your Wednesday Video yesterday. Always a great pleasure to see you in good health
That Zane Grey cover art looks like N.C. Wyeth’s work. My best guess…
Is that Abdul Alhazred beneath Cthulhu on the close stoolu?
😊
Wow some of those Lovecraft items look super fun 👌.

I'm not sure how society even functioned before unboxing videos became a thing!
