I’m 30 now. I remember this song during my teens. Those were the best years…
🥲
Fuckkkkk. Haven’t heard this song since I was in my teens (14/15 years old). I’m 25 now. How crazy how much time has passed, and how quickly it did.
my ex played it to me and told me we would break up, five years later she was right.
I stumbled upon gem a few years back. A week later, I owned every piece of music The Kills made. They are everything I ever wanted rock to be. Their fuck-you attitudes, their strung out style, their incessant coolness, and most importantly, the way all that oozes out into their music which sounds perfectly underproduced and unpolished. This album is particularly moody. It's great for late night listening. I'm so glad there is still a band like this out there, putting a good name to rock and roll in a world where Nickleback and One Direction is considered good good music. Ya done good, VV and Hotel. Don't ever stop
Sam Buca amen
Sam Buca im pretty sure nobody considers nickleback good
Leda9393 I wish I could say you were right but unfortunately, they're still making money doing what they do. People still pay to listen to him sound like he's singing while taking a deep shit
Dirty Water Damn homie well said! Thank you! While reading what you wrote my mind flooded with memories and created visuals that I wish others could see!
Im getting a mature the xx vibe, the kan adts to the ladies emotion not vive versa. Two songs in. Band was namedroped on flick cinnection after the song do it to death was used on a movie
2024 and beyond. I'm 36 but this has always been my favorite genre of music. People talk about music of the past (70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s) . My favorite decade of just random music overall (across all genres) without a doubt has to be late 2000s to 2010s.
This song live is amazing, far better than I had expected in the year 2024
We can't make radio stations play these kinds of songs. They like mainstream, what the masses want, those poppy songs that sound the same. This isn't mainstream, this is cool.
coolest duo ever
12 years later and I'm still letting this song emotionally wreck me haha
just this song? lucky
@@kelseykelsey2559 definitely not JUST this song bit of a stretch there Vagina
No!
Its fun isn't it? Remembering the pain all over again. Just like it was yesterday
@@ClevelandBoy12 lol
Clap, clap, clap-clap-clap
Clap-clap-clap, clap, clap-clap

CLAPPING IS FOR SINNERS AND SHEEP !!!!lol
Elevator straight into my skull
The escalator rises as it falls
I swear our jet is crashin' in my mind
You can hold on but I wouldn't waste your time
Farewell my black balloon
Farewell my black balloon
I've stood in a thousand street scenes
Just around the corner from you
On the edge of a dream that you have
Has anybody ever told you it's not comin' true?
Farewell my black balloon
Farewell my black balloon, the weather had it's way with you
Farewell my black balloon, the weather had it's way with you
Farewell my black balloon
PC Avellar "let the weather have it's way with you"*
I like but so sing the song ..
My bad cool my palegies
I love how her voice is a beautiful instrument itself.
Alison Mosshart is amazing if you dont know the dead weather, ck it out
My parents always played this when I was little and we had to go on long road trips. Me and my brother loved it. They haven't listened to it since we were both tiny so I went searching for it on my own, lol. I've always adored this song
Lucky!
your parents are the best
Catchyhooks bass n riffs that draw u in ine teme. Yes very replayable. I like songs that u have to play twice on hearing
@@marianadequeen6293 I imagine you saying this in the Napoleon Dynamite voice hahaha
One of my favorite bands.
15 years later, this song is still making me feel so loved and lonely at the same time and always end up crushing a tear
Elevator straight into my skull, the escalator rises as it falls. I swear a jet is crashing in my mind, you can hold on but I wouldn’t waste your time.
On the edge of a dream that you have, had any body told you it’s not coming true...
.. I hope the kills know that this is a song for the people searching to fill the empty holes in their lives. This song heals me. When I’m hopeless but feel I can keep going, I listen to this. I hope they know the impact of the lyrics, about the struggle of addiction. This song is not well known, and that’s why it’s so special. This has gotten me through the death of my father and my addiction through it all. It’s a powerful trait to have to reach into the uncomfortable places and open them up with your song, power, strength and femininity. Cut wide open about addiction and loneliness. You make a difference to the right people. Thank you
This song is so obviously about addiction it’s kinda odd to see other people’s interpretations of it.
Listenin to this in my mamas big red dodge… shit was so complicated yet so simple. Take me back Lord.
The most underrated song!!
Deep as the Ocean, luv this band like a long lost friend I can't quiet place.
My first The Kills song c:
the kills the tape song you will love it ? lol
Do you ever come to youtube for no reason, just lost and confused, randomly click, then find a song that fits exactly how you feel, so you just turn it up and drift off?
Yeah, that just happened. This song is perfection. I knew I loved the kills, but I'd never heard this song.
"Let the weather have it's way with you" means the author won't be altering reality with whatever (person, drugs, alcohol) they used previously to protect them from life. Personally, You can hold on but I wouldn't waste your time".
The part about "On the edge of a dream that you have, Has anybody ever told you it's not comin' true?" represents finally giving up the fantasy about the person and seeing the reality.
Lol
this song is amazing. i usually go for music with tons of layers but this song's simplicity is what keeps me listening.
plus i'm in love with his hair and wish i had her hair. lol
This beautiful song has been part of my play lists since 08, im listening and loving still
I found it by chance....and by chance I loved it!!!
Person of Interest was the reason I discovered this band. Love their music!
I just discovered this song through a friend. God my mood is totally spinned 360 degrees to a perfect mood. I LOVE THIS!
That's the magic of music...!!
This song deserves more viewers

Yooo I was in high school back then. Now living adulthood in late 20's. Legend song never die!
Discovered them while "traveling & eating"; loved their personalities. Now heard their entire set, sometimes it's just so right...they're stardust!!
Perfect
just missed this song, it's been a while... 💕
There are many ways of interpret the meaning of this song. Right now, it's the hymn of my life.
no word is able to discribe how great this song is

I like the new stuff from The Kills. I wouldn't mind if they revisited this style a bit, though.
it's awesome to see that their are still people with power vocals these days
i used to be obsessed with this song. haven't heard it in a while but it randomly popped in my head tonight. never knew there was a video for it.
Wow. Just like that I'm 16 again.
Folklore Suburbia god, I feel you. The nostalgia is making me kind of sad lol.
just like i'm 22 again and working at urban outfitters
Same here in 2020
Well I am 16 on October 13 2020
Aeesome feeling.
This is a hypnotising song. Reminds me of sonic youth but with less noise rock freakouts and a smoother female voice.
kinda miss her. 2 bad the length of her deceit cant be forgotten. 2 bad i cant beg her not to lie and pretend again. 2 bad she didn't hear me. shes shaped a new false reality and i hope it works out for her...for everyone.
love.
On the edge of a dream that you had. Has anybody ever told you it's not coming true?
this is my favorite kills song i'm happy they're not massive but they deserve to be
Six years since I was here. I can't believe that. So mch has happened. In between, I saw them live at ... was it the Hammersmith Odeon? Ah well.
The passing of time is bitter sweet. I feel sad for those for those who died young.
Nothing like peak Millennial indie music zeitgest: 2009-2015.
Before everything went to shit.
And 2016-2017 still some slight lingering sounds there and there. We weren't still forgotten by mainstream media and real adult life has just beginning to engulf us into their jaws of responsability, marriage, kids.
Responsibility isn’t the enemy…
Yup!! I saw them in Toronto at some sleazey club in Toronto. This is definitely peak millenial indie core. I still remember my little hipster umiform i was wearing that night: black skinny jeans, vans, deep vneck shirt, skull print scarf and my dads fedora hat.
I agree, but also different people see different meanings. It makes one feel better believing in what he wants to see.
august 3rd i get to see these two live. so excited!!!!!!!!
Almost forgot about this goody!
Biggest mistake of my life was not having enough energy to go and watch the Kills live in London. I will regret it forever.
They are just great.
2 things here:
One......hippest and most talented music duo I've seen in years
Two......I feel bad still I gave up my Music major in college for something more "mainstream"
I was 16 and trying to lost the weight.
I wanted to be anorexic and I didn’t eat anything. When I was hungry, i listen to this song. I don’t know why but it helped me
amo esta cansion y este grupo la verdad son magnificos algunas cansiones de ellos me hace llorar son los mejores aribe the kills
Love ❤️ this. Got it from the Film 🎥 called “ Down a Dark Hall”. I’m currently watching this.

my constant mood.
I've been searching for this clip for years, the imagery never left my 11yr old head. Always remembered the name too for some reason.
Epic song! I've been listening to it every day for months..
This song is just way too perfect T_T
I hadn't heard this song in a few years now. Its as breath taking as the first time I did though
Where was I went this surfaced?..... I hear it alot now..... not back when it was released....like an echo in a dream...or the light from a dead star just reaching earth.....time pushing past.
Depends on where you were… I learned of this from an obscure magazine interview that was 20 lines long. Everything about them seemed interesting, and scary, heartbreaking even.
i thought I had heard of this song before, so I whip out my iPod. Low and behold, I own it! This video makes me tired. Not in a bored way...just in a realistic quality way. Until the vampire stuff. I NEED her shoes. I feel so vain right now. Don't hate me?
OMG just having sucha great LSD trip wow this song is too beautiful
Did it all work out.
Just heard this on a horror movie. Loving it
and the weather have its way with you baby

I listen this song on The Good Wife
I'm not even sure how I got to this video. It just randomly popped up in my suggestion box and I clicked it. One hour later after backtracking and watching/listening to this band's other work on here I think I'm officially in love.
this song is great
best 240p vid on the net, y'all
This is closing song in the movie Asthma. Check out on Netflix, good movie. it brought me here.
+1ls376 Same
+1ls376 I just saw the movie, and was like "oh hey The Kills, sweet", they're pretty awesome you should definitely check out they're other songs. This song also fits perfectly with the end of the movie as it's about getting over a heroine addiction.
+: Brody : I've definatly been checking out their other songs, very nice. I thought the movie was great also. Cant beat a good Indie movie with good sound track.
+1ls376 The soundtrack is why I finished that movie. Great picks.

One of the best
Wow. Wow. Wow. How come I discover that by coincidence on UA-cam??? The world needs to know about this band!
