The older I get, the more profound and meaningful the lyrics become. When you’re young you hear the music, when you’re older you hear the words. Thank you!
This song makes me cry. You would expect this level of clarity to come from an older person, but Alanis was 23 when she wrote this! She must be at the end of her karmic cycle cause this is pure, pure wisdom.
I seen it make my Mom cry once when I was little. Now that I'm older and listened to this song after many years. I finally understand, I cried too. She left me, now I remember her strongly through the music she loved. ❤
I love this song because it reminds me of how it feels to emerge from trauma and horror, blinking in the random sunlight, uncertain of why you're even there and if you deserve it. You deserve the sunlight. You deserve the chance to become something fresh and new. Thank you Alanis, for reminding us all of that
I was 16 when the song was released, smiled when I listen to it. I'm 40 now, and crying when I am listening to this, profound lyric she wrote. The gratitude feeling, the process of accepting grief, the detachment, and else. The song taught me a lot of things. Thank you, Alanis! 💚
Alanis is one of the greatest songwriters of the past 50 years. She was groundbreaking, brave and fierce and her words hit different genders and races differently depending on the situation but ultimately the same. Truth is rare in songwriting, more so today than it was in the past 40 years, Alanis is that rare gifted beyond her years " Old Soul" that landed to teach us all it is ok to be real and human and just feel. Thank You Alanis.
Do you remember just how big she was in the late 90s? I saw her in concert back then, and I think I still suffer hearing loss, the crowd was screaming so loud that it drowned out the music completely.
I agree, she was ahead of her time. I remember that people made fun of her for the video when it first came out. I think her message is even more profound as the years pass....
I agree, OP. I stumbled onto uninvited and feel it is a great work of art. And as I'm prepping it for a presentation, thought "maybe this youngster did other good sh*t". The song above is the third I've heard. And there is MORE!! Unbelievable lucky am I!
The song "Thank U" by Alanis Morissette is about learning to be grateful for both the good and bad moments in life. In her lyrics, she expresses gratitude for difficult experiences such as taking antibiotics, enduring disillusionment, living with consequences and weakness, and being open to change. It also acknowledges the need to forgive, be vulnerable and leave negative situations behind. The song reminds us to reflect on the blessings of life, but also the difficulties, and to be grateful for both.
I believe in the 80s they pumped farm animals with preventative medicine instead of addressing their stress and poor living conditions and their man-made hellhole life. This then resulted in hormone disruption in humans, immune system issues, cancer etc and they tried reducing the chemicals and raising animal welfare (not very successfully). I believe "antibiotics" were a metaphor for medication you didn't need to take. Ergo addressing the real trauma.
Alanis's music has helped me through some very dark times in my life. The healing journey continues with her lyrics. She is not a musician. She is a mental institution. Thank You Alanis!
What gets me in this video is her eyes. Such peace and tranquility. Her message of letting go and opening up to find your inner peace... As a grown man I am not ashamed to say she can bring a tear or two to my eyes with her beautiful spirit.
You're so right. When I see her expression, especially on the train, I can't help but think, "This woman knows things.." To be so insightful at such a young age!
@@yvettescheiman4991 yes she is amazing. I don't know her. But that song You Ought to know, is a masterpiece. And I know she is nothing like the character in that song. But it took a well adjusted creative mind to write such. And I tip my hat to whoever raised here. Damn good job!
@@benjieduke3693 I can't agree with that. Some people come from terrible backgrounds and decide to stop the cycle themselves. Some people come from great backgrounds and turn into monsters. The choices are ours to make
When I was a kid I used to hate this video. Now I realize it's the perfect metaphor for enlightenment. You walk through life completely vulnerable and exposed, but never afraid or weak because a sense of wisdom, strength, and inner peace stays with you. Every now and then a fellow compassionate soul reaches out to you with love and affirmation, and in that moment it means more than all the supposed promised love of paradise.

Your 54 years old on this Earth??? How old would you be someplace else? Do you have another planet your seeing on the side??? Do you age differently there? So your like 54 here and like 24 some place else? If that's the case why would you ever come back to Earth?

Even as a kid, deep down, I know she was awesome. I'm now a 38 year old man and I listen to this and reminds me of the great time I lived through, the 90's
My Dad died in Feb. 1990 at the age of 58. My Mom just passed this August, 3 days before my Birthday. This song reminds me so much of following in Dad's footsteps. Every Christmas he invited anyone who was alone to join our family for a Christmas dinner. After he passed and Mom moved, I called it "The Lonely Hearts Dinner"....Every Christmas night Open House and played Counting Crows. This year, I am just hoping for 2024 to be better than last year. Thankfully, my friends, nephew and his wife got me through a rough December. Love to all....may we all have a better year and continue to listen to CC's incredible music, year after year. XO
All the best for you!❤ Be sure your golden heart father is still doing well! He is near you and will lead you into the upcoming better times! Kindest regards from Germany!
Yep, "Thank U" randomly came into my Spotify rotation recently, and I forgot how much I loved it in college, but never really understood it till now. I love it even more now.
Thank U Alanis, 20 years ago I appreciated your music, now I realize how fucking brilliant you were and still are. Thank U so much for everything that you did and still do.
Anyone old enough to know this song in their teens or as an early adult is one of the lucky ones. Such a deep, talented and diverse world of music we grew up with. Some great music came before the 90's but we're also old enough to know most of it. What a time to grow up in.
1989 to 2000. Some of the greatest albums ever produced. My sister listened to Alanis but I was into alternative bands. Now I listen to her lyrics and am blown away at how deep she actually was.
Not to mention really listening to those songs and understanding them way more! It's interesting how you can know every word to a song and not hear the lyrics ...
The main message of the song is. Thank everything what happens in your life.. Weather is fear, depression, humiliation, happiness, gratefulness and love. Thank all of them because that's what makes you human.
May 31,2021 101👍 it's not about just learning, you have to do it & apply it in your life. An addict of anything has to mean it with their life to stop & say thank you. Suicidal has to fight to be happy & say thank you life. You find who you want to be that is the goodness of a higher power. It took me 50yrs. to finely realize who I am. Now I can stop counting & enjoy my life. I like this song 💕 Namaste
I see a rather esoteric message, in regards to the awakening-driven thanking for a higher-level of consciousness. India (a wink to hinduism, I suppose), the void, the present moment, forgiveness, remembering one's divinity (spiritual identity), her gaze into/interaction with what one would describe to be the astral, she's naked which symbolizes that she's without a mask, that she has let go off her ego, etc... all new age/spiritual concepts.
@@PaulieTheDude no it's about not letting yourself become buried by the dirt. No matter what kind of dirt gets kicked into your face you move on and endure you're not going to sit there and give up
She Thanked India in this Song because she found her inner Peace there. Truely Amazing. We Thank You Alanis for your Wonderful Voice and Music you shared with all of us. God Bless You.
Nudity can represent more than one thought. It can represent vulnerability and it can represent freedom from social definitions and it represent total honesty, nothing hidden no costumes, no games. I see all 3 in this video. Her vulnerability is not weakness but a non aggressive spirit and humility that comes from recognizing one's self and her role in the universe. If you watch her face and expression throughout the video, there is no fear or confusion but the look of someone who has won a spiritual battle and won awareness and is profoundly grateful
One of the most beautiful and profound comments I've ever read on UA-cam to one of the most beautiful songs ever (and video too)! It cannot be said better and more beautiful, very well done!!
This comment corresponds to a pure philosophical thought. These are observations that correspond to factual reality. But above all this young woman has a pretty voice and is quite lovely
Contrary to the way we use the word in everyday life, within the context of many spiritual traditions, disillusionment is actually considered a very positive and empowering experience. It involves tearing through illusions and seeing things more clearly, without the layers of wishful thinking or ego-driven projections. This type of disillusionment allows for a direct, unclouded perception of reality, which can lead to inner peace, compassion, and freedom from suffering.
As a teenager, your songs literally saved my life. You taught me that it was ok to be an outcast and how to love myself. Thank you thank you Alanis for teaching me the importance of touching the ground and how to be strong! I will never forget how you made me feel ♥️

I saw a documentary about her and it showed her working in the studio. She was working on the lyrics to a song and she would just let loose bawling when she'd write down something great, something meaningful to her and perhaps profound, as her lyrics sometimes are. She's an artist and she digs deep to give something good to the world. I certainly respect her.

At the time that Alanis wrote this back in 1998, she had just come out of an exile that lasted a year and half. She had went into exile to recover from the stresses of having had her first successful album, the pressures of having just finished a worldwide tour promoting it, and fans constantly asking her when the next album's coming out. Geminis don't handle stress that well. They have to have some time to cool off, which is basically what Alanis did by going to India, which she gives thanks to in the song. When her follow up did come out, songs with lyrics like this weren't expected by fans and many panned it at the time as a result. Fans expected Alanis to follow up with the same revenge lyrics that made "Jagged Little Pill" the success it became and she didn't do that. She went her own way on "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" and as a result, the album didn't have the huge sales success of her prior album.
This song reminds me of my sister who lost her battle to cancer last summer, and I always come back to this song to feel like I'm with her again. You were one of her favorite artists and this song means the world to me. Thank you Alanis ❤️

A lot of people focus on their perception that her subsequent work didn't meet the same incredible heights as JLP, but why not choose to be thankful for the incredible gift she gave with this amazing, open and honest album. The imagery in this video of people reaching out to touch her with compassion, or to simply connect as humans during her moment of vulnerability is quite powerful. Unfortunately my experience has not been the same. People all too often view a persons vulnerability as weakness, and it brings out the worst impulses in them.
Maybe that's also part of what Alanis is trying to say though. Being mistreated by people when we are vulnerable is an inevitability in life; goodness knows we've all hurt people in our own lives in some way. It's so easy to become cynical and pessimistic as we pass through day to day existence; the struggle is to learn patience, optimism, understanding, and openness. Suffering provides an opportunity for us to be humbled, to learn more about ourselves, and grow as individuals. Thank you Terror :-)
Being naked can symbolize shedding pretenses and being one's authentic self expressing a willingness to be emotionally exposed, to let go of defenses, and to appreciate the genuine moments in life.
The first time I’ve seen this video believe it or not . My American friend used to talk about Allanis and this video all the time. He’s madly in love with her.

The raw emotional power of her voice is literally unrivaled. She conveys a sense of vulnerability that is So fragile yet so resilient. I can't think of another female singer whose vocals affect me as deeply as her. What a gift to be able to listen to her music 💜🎶
Pink comes closest in my opinion. But she’s no Alanis. Guys didn’t listen to too many female singers back then but when Alanis came around she attracted EVERYBODY. The women wanted to be her and the guys wanted to go to the movies with her..😏
I've always loved her. This is the first time I realized this song is about healing from trauma and it came back into my life at the exact right time. I'm ready to move on and just be happy.
This song always annoyed me. I never stopped to appreciate it. Now I'm bawling my eyes out. I loved her when she first came out, this was just 'different' from the 20 something Alanis I was used to.
I’m 50 and this is still one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Saw her live about 8 years, she’s amazing & I even caught her drummers drum stick!
Anyone else want to cry and also feel a sense of relief when you hear "The moment I let go if it was the moment I got more than I could handle. The moment I jumped off of it was the moment I touched down". Thank you.....
To portray nudism without sexuality is a feat in itself, but what the Video actually shows is a depth of sympathy and humanity towards all people, so well done Alanis, 'thank you' indeed
True. I know people think it's barbaric and uncivil, but we have an annual festival in parts of India, dedicated to a nude Goddess called Ma Kali, as a presentation of raw nature kind of way (strategically covered with garlards of flowers and skull from the demons she killed in the mythology). There is nude sculpture in many ancient Indian temples. Somewhere through 1000 years of invasion, we have partially lost our sense of openness and free thinking. She wrote this song after a trip to India.
I doubt you would think it was not sexual if they had not blurred her vagina and covered her breasts. There is no nudity in this video so your comment is wrong.
@@crosisofborg5524 But obviousy you do understand that she was never really naked in this video right? She was not really nude in real life... She is not singing to anyone, she is singing to her inner soul. This is my anthem, for self love, self care and the wish upon the silence of my mind. Time to be compassive with myself.
@Pale Big Booty white girl she didnt show her bush to anyone. it wasnt about that it was about purity and the vulnerability that people feel daily also humbleness and thankfullness. But i wouldnt expect a shallow minded person such as you to even begin to grasp the concept and beauty behind her messages!!
@Pale Big Booty white girl you’re actually more of the attention seeker. It was an artistic symbol for her vulnerability. Ms. Pale big booty. Talk about attention seeking. Oh... sweet.... sweet irony. maybe those ‘addictions’ taught you how to be stuck up. 😏
...ones where the people come up to Alanis and put their hand on her shoulder and show care and concern. It is such a beautiful thing we can all do for each other; show kindness and compassion. We are all here for such a short time. It's such a shame what we do to one another with our words and actions. We can change. We can be thankful. Thank you, Alanis. Thank you.
Today at work I was going through a lot and somebody took it as me being rude. He said I needed to be in a better mood. I said I'm almost at the point of killing myself. He said you should get on that. He was a complete stranger.
I like what you said in your comment, but I'd been watching the video a couple of times and thought I noticed a timing of each encounter with a particular descriptive emotion being outlined in the lyrics, not everyone, but at key points to emphasize the lyrics, as a whole.👍😌
She pours out her soul in this song. Definitely one of the most powerful songs of all time. A song about accepting yourself and overcoming trust and confidence issues like no other. Such an anthem. Greetings from Chile.
One of the most deep and profound positive songs ever created if you really understand the value of the moment and letting go aligning with who and what you truly are! Very powerful song.
3:33 "Thank you, THANK YOU SILENCE! YEAH, YEAH!!!" Will ALWAYS be my favorite part. I just LOVE the way she sounds. I couldn't ask for a better singer to sing this. Thank you Alanis ❤

Sundiata Keita Especially with this song, it reminds me of a day I had in Montréal with my aunt and uncle. This song was all over the radio and I cherish that moment a lot. Music was so great. I’m glad I was there.
This might be the most amazing song I have ever heard…this perfectly encapsulates the healing journey. The lyrics are perfect and so deep, it just touches you deep in your soul. It’s a pop song about achieving enlightenment, just wow. She was definitely ahead of her time!!
that second verse is out of this world.Ballard's production is unmatched, gives me goosebumps even without Alanis' voice.the whole song still sounds absolutely breathtaking 26 years after its release.
At 62, perhaps I'm a bit past by her target audience, but I'm so moved by the lyrics and how much I relate to my life and how I reached where I am today. But I wouldn't trade any experience I had, because it has created the life I have today. All my pain of the past is reflected in the joy I have today.
I'm in tears right now, I hope that everyone reading this finds their way and remember to love hard and live your life unapologetically! Sending out hearts to everybody, you are loved!💚
She is absolute and clearly far ahead of her time. I love this song and these lyrics. Her appearing nude, equating to vulnerability. Thanking every single thing that life throws, its an ode to the ways we should live. Allowing it all to contribute to the ways in which we understand and navigate this life & our purpose here... Thank YOU Alanis.
My high school history teacher showed us this song in class once and talked about how important the message of the song was; being grateful for all experiences, even traumatic experiences. I thought that the message was stupid when I was 15; but, after recovering from trauma for the past 2 years, I feel... free, listening to this song, and I feel gratitude in the highest regards.

I lost my mother a few days ago on June 2nd. She unfortunately passed away in her sleep. She was only 57 years old. She loved Alanis. This song had me tearing up like a baby. Love you mom! Rest in peace! 💔💔
I lost my mom on June 4th I feel for you. My mom was 71 and in good health and had a massive heart attack and she was gone, I was lucky to have her. A you can do is remember the good times!
For me, this is the most beautiful song she's ever done. From the fragile piano-like sound (especially that, I can't get over that sound), the instrumentation and production, the vocals, down to the lyrics, it all comes together.
I remember when this first came out (yes, I'm old lol) and she talked about how she was in India and suffered a really terrible bout of "Delhi Belly" that actually put her life at risk. She mentioned how the feeling of vulnerability at being under the care of strangers, when she felt at her weakest, physically, mentally and spiritually, really resonated with her and inspired her to write this song. It's about how when you are at your most vulnerable you can often see the true beauty of humanity as they reach out to help you.... It's a beautiful message that she managed to put into melody and words in this song. Thankyou Alanis. 🙏♥️🌍
Seriously, this is one of the greatest songs EVER written! It tells the story of how Alanis couldn't cope with the amount of fame she found after "Jagged Little Pill" sold mega millions. She went to India to meditate and try and make some sort of sense of her life. Every time I hear it, it brings up so many emotions ...
close. it's about Recovery from Addiction. It's describing the Process of the 12 Steps. I'm sure she went to India and was told by one of the Gurus that what she was seeking was in the 12 Steps. I always loved this song but never understood it till I worked the steps and got sober. She's saying Thank You to all of the Circumstances and Emotions that eventually drove her to "hit bottom" and get some help. I'm not trying to be a know it all it's just that I've lived it myself. There's Symbolism through this that would take HOURS to explain. in the 4th step you list ALL of your Grievances and then you go down the List with your Sponsor and "Grieve it ALL one at a time" and then you deal with it and get over it and get on with your Life after realizing we have NO control of the Past so any energy expended on it is wasted Energy. That's what she means when she says "The Monent I let go of it, was the Moment I got more Than I could handle. The Moment I jumped off of it, was the Moment I touched down" And TRUST ME. You CANT go thru a 4th Step without "unabashedly bawling your eyes out" 🙂❤️
To go through that progression means you’re opening up and understanding the beauty and complex pain in yourself and others, and what it means to you now and how it will continue to shape you in the future.
I agree totally and thank you for posting. I get chills, then I get heart-tugging regrets for never seeing her perform this live, then I get tears for lost time, then...
This song always makes me cry. Life experience can throw a lot of gut punches. But being able to let the anger and fear go is how one keeps carrying on.
@@bootsycollins1901 I'm sorry, but it's Alanis who writes all her lyrics. I own a few of her albums and the lyrics and music are by Alanis Morissette. She worked with producer Glen Ballard, who contributed some of the music but not the lyrics. Check out wilkipedia and other biographies about her. She really is a songwriter.
This song has something I can't explain it. When I feeling down it lifts me up, it is really hard to explain that feeling! I guess it is the message about letting go things or people!
I believe it's the release she must've felt coming to India meditating 4 hrs a day after the completely overwhelming succes of Jagged Little Pill. To me, this song embodies landing into your own Self again. Hallelujah for Alanis Morissette's ways
There's also some musical theory about uplifting music that's relevant. The musical passages have literally uplifting patterns in the various parts. If you take them apart and analyse them. Probably. But the vocal melody and the the organ drift against each other and have contrasting timbre to make a trippy floaty feel. And then the lyrics, very much including the hook, are full of simple hearfelt gratitude and yet also mysterious and expansive spirituality. I'm not trying to ruin it for you, honest. It's just you make it sound more mysterious than it is. Even though it feels mysteriously uplifting and the feeling is real enough. Wonder, gratitude, and expansiveness are important emotions. They do have emotional almost synaesthetic musical sounds too. They can be represented. And that's a skill of good songwriting. It's intuitive but it's also technical. It's not randomly generated effects.
Such a beautiful and profound song, often overlooked. It never ceases to amaze me how it manages to release that caged bird, that long held breath, so deep within me. Thank you for sharing your art, your self, your ability to connect that has been with me so very long now. Thank you reader too, I truly hope you enjoy this song as much as I did. Be well.

What a beautiful breakdown of this song. Thank you ML 124.

@@jeffbanning3838 You're absolutely right, it really is a perfect song. The lyrics make you think very intensely.
That is such a profound and succinct analogy for Alanis's art. Very well stated.
What gets me in this video is her eyes. Such peace and tranquility. Her message of letting go and opening up to find your inner peace... As a grown man I am not ashamed to say she can bring a tear or two to my eyes with her beautiful spirit.

You walk through life completely vulnerable and exposed, but never afraid or weak because a sense of wisdom, strength, and inner peace stays with you. Every now and then a fellow compassionate soul reaches out to you with love and affirmation, and in that moment it means more than all the supposed promised love of paradise.

Born in 1994. Greatful for the music from then

Definitely enjoyed the type of music growing up as a teenager. Can’t believe I can still remember to this day.
Not to mention really listening to those songs and understanding them way more! It's interesting how you can know every word to a song and not hear the lyrics ...
The main message of the song is.
Thank everything what happens in your life..
Weather is fear, depression, humiliation,
happiness, gratefulness and love.
Thank all of them because that's what makes you human.
It's just gathering more and more dirt over the course of your time. Is that what it supposed to be?
Consider this a like since you have 69 and don't want to mess it up. I only wish it wasn't so painful to learn compassion.

If you watch her face and expression throughout the video, there is no fear or confusion but the look of someone who has won a spiritual battle and won awareness and is profoundly grateful
you've probably never been told to fuck off by some one that makes you horny
One of the most beautiful and profound comments I've ever read on UA-cam to one of the most beautiful songs ever (and video too)! It cannot be said better and more beautiful, very well done!!
This comment corresponds to a pure philosophical thought. These are observations that correspond to factual reality.
But above all this young woman has a pretty voice and is quite lovely
Lester Jones you have a very good point Hands Down just as she does. 🎈
Can you repeat that!

Which is why we never stick our dick in crazy.

Thanks Bran Nubian for your reflection. After an illness we just learn about goodness.

To portray nudism without sexuality is a feat in itself, but what the Video actually shows is a depth of sympathy and humanity towards all people, so well done Alanis, 'thank you' indeed
It takes guts for anyone to stand in a crowded city naked while people hold you, but I suppose it's a metaphor for human vulnerablity

Although "Thank U" was of course not on "Jagged little pill"

Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is classic

I finally can see the spiritual significance of this song. Thank you 🙏
3:33 "Thank you, THANK YOU SILENCE! YEAH, YEAH!!!"
Will ALWAYS be my favorite part. I just LOVE the way she sounds. I couldn't ask for a better singer to sing this. Thank you Alanis ❤
Em seguida com seus gritos arrepiantes .....
She always sounds like a siren( mermaid) at the end! I love her little rift at the end!
The song is incredible and packs tremendous depth. It is timeless and profound. Thank U indeed!!!
i am physically disabled by a traffic accident 18 years ago since then music is my support thank :-))
I am going through my own stuff and such positive vibes really helps...Love to you
Real music
She is an Angel...I believe.....just one of many you have, my Love. Ive seen mine...they....ARE
@doons403 yo tuve suerte al menos puedo andar pero cuando va a llover lo se . pero los primeros años son los mas duros
Hang in there mate, you are capable of much more than you can imagine! I'm an office in local law enforcement, traffic division, motorcycle unit. I've seen my share of accidents and people overcoming overwhelming odds. I, myself just went through an emotional breakdown that almost took my life. My mother and the guys from my squad were the ones who helped me to overcome it. That said, you have someone by your side, that I truly believe! Hang in there.
Winter 1998. I still remember it. The end of the 90’s was so special.
Sundiata Keita
Everything and more importantly, nothing.
I agree. The 90s had a great vibe
NiGHTSaturn yessssss, magical !!!!! So lucky we were at that moment
it was
Sundiata Keita Especially with this song, it reminds me of a day I had in Montréal with my aunt and uncle.
A woman with balls of steel. She expresses what some of us feel but cannot do - especially at the end.
Unintelligible comment@@B4_J20
Or a woman with a vagina. No need for steel 😊
At 62, perhaps I'm a bit past by her target audience, but I'm so moved by the lyrics and how much I relate to my life and how I reached where I am today. But I wouldn't trade any experience I had, because it has created the life I have today. All my pain of the past is reflected in the joy I have today.
I think these lyrics are timeless and she isnt targeting any one age group
don’t worry my friend… music is for anyone
@@Rose_19911 Facts

I'm with you
Love to you sister! Gods are blessing us! Love above all
Im in tears now too hhhh 😢

Buen Camino.
Amazing Song Then and Now and till the End of Age
🤗
You had a great teacher. Hope you’re doing well x
Thank you ironclaw8153
"The moment of I let go of it was the moment I got more than I could handle."
Thank u, Alanis.
Hello 2022. Please be nice to us. ✨💫
I think the lyric is, "The moment I let go of it/Was the moment I got more than I could have known." 🙂
@@blw_blw I saw it officially from Google. However anyone can intrepret it with a different meaning. That's the beauty of it 😊
haha geez...... "hello 2022. please be nice to us" 1 month later...... world war 3 looks very very likely!!!
@@justinwalsh5991 It's fake--stay strong, we're all being lied to. We, the people, are rooting out the corruption in Ukraine and the corruption is attempting to cover it up w/ a war. Regardless of how you or I want this world to be shaped we're all on the same team. We all need to lock arms at this point in history and defeat these demons! God bless.
After all these years, I still can't explain what it is about this song
that captivates me...beautiful beyond any words I have.
how 'bout Alanis,
predicting the future??
such a wonderfully written and evidently timeless song!!!
After being so tired, and so disillusioned for so long, now I'm open and free, light as a feather, with nothing but love to give.
That's really great. I hope you share positivity in your community. Stay positive. All the best to you!
way to go buddy ✌😎
I felt that
I lost my mother a few days ago on June 2nd. She unfortunately passed away in her sleep.
She was only 57 years old. She loved Alanis. This song had me tearing up like a baby.
Love you mom! Rest in peace!
💔💔
Sorry for your loss
I'm so sorry for your loss. Mum loves you
I lost my mom on June 4th I feel for you. My mom was 71 and in good health and had a massive heart attack and she was gone, I was lucky to have her. A you can do is remember the good times!
Sorry to hear of your Loss...
Hope sharing your Sentiments is comforting, hopefully with positive memories, too...
May your Mom R.I.P.
Sending my love to you brother. Rest in peace to your beautiful mother.
For me, this is the most beautiful song she's ever done. From the fragile piano-like sound (especially that, I can't get over that sound), the instrumentation and production, the vocals, down to the lyrics, it all comes together.
was lucky enough to see her do this live in '23. Amazing.
Interesting!
Yes, I heard her say that in an interview; she also said the nudity depicted her in the shower, but she didn’t elaborate beyond that!
I think she is yelling at Dave, dropping her.
Sudden worldwide fame must have become a very difficult reality for her. JLP brought the world to her feet and she began to feel overwhelmed.
close. it's about Recovery from Addiction.
The Moment I jumped off of it, was the Moment I touched down"
And TRUST ME. You CANT go thru a 4th Step without "unabashedly bawling your eyes out" 🙂❤️
This song is a prayer for me. I listen to it everyday. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Helle how are you
Me too
This Is A Music Masterpiece In Every Single Way.
The Video Is Pure Art. 🎨
This song needs to be heard in 2024
It is. She toured.
It's being enjoyed right now Sept 10 2134,,
We love vintage. ❤
It is! On Thanksgiving!
First I smiled.
10 years later a tear rolled down my face.
Today I bawl like a baby.
Next week, you'll get your period.
Same thing just happened to me.
I'll bet it even hits Alanis deeper now that she's older. Totally different perspective with age.
This song always makes me cry. Life experience can throw a lot of gut punches. But being able to let the anger and fear go is how one keeps carrying on.
Alanis is the princess of singer-songwriters. She is magnificent and so authentic. I just love her.
Singer ok... but she didnt wrote it by herself
Alanis Morissette is the most incredible female artist EVER!! Pure raw talent!!!! ♥️🙌🎧

Wunderschön 💋
that, or about staying humble/letting go of the ego.
Be well.
Word.
When I first heard this song she was singing on a stage I started to get teary eyed. It is a beautiful song! I believe it hits home to those who have a deep sense of awareness and empathy.❤
