I discovered this band when I was 12. I still remember that day, my mother called me for dinner but I was so amazed by their talent I just couldn't stop listening. Dinner was cold but I felt wonderful. 11 years later I still love all their songs. Thank you ❤️
31 year old me listening and still feeling 19. hell yea. the kills were and always will be badass. any fellow teenagers listening now, on behalf of being your millennial elder, good job for finding this one. haha
The White Stripes introduced me to Jack White who introduced me to Dead Weather who introduced me to Alison Mosshart who introduced me to The Kills ...
As a teenager I got into the White Stripes on their own (that first self titled i used as a concept album for a night of whiskey drinking). Around the same time The Kills on their own thanks to the sister of a friend who would come back from visiting the UK with the best music. So the Dead Weather for me was a completely unexpected but appreciated super group. Was so happy. 'Will there be enough water' live from the horseshoe tavern - still one of my favourite things that exist.
@@sambbk7203 more or less like me white stripes I got to know first, and the kills next, more or less arround the time they came out with this Midnight boom, got to know this thanks to a french music magazine that offerd a cd with new stuff we should listen, and U.R.A fever was in it, love at first play I must addmit, until these days ! So a little time latter when Dead weather came out I was already sure I would love them , I love jack white, I love hince but alisson is a genious of this era 💜
I'm 15 and I recently listened to The Kills and I fell in love with them! They are the best band. I began to share and download all the songs and I even cut my hair like Alison! although my parents didn't want to, honestly The Kills changed my life
Tape ain't gonna fix it Honey, it ain't gonna stick Tape ain't gonna fix it Honey, it ain't gonna stick to you Six kinds of glue Won't hold you Won't hold you Oh my oh, oh my You've got to You've got to go straight ahead You've got to, you've got to go straight ahead Time ain't gonna cure you Honey, time don't give a shit. Here are the official lyrics for the song. It doesn't say, "Ghost in the head", it says, "Go Steal Ahead". Some versions of the lyrics say, "Go Straight Ahead". Just thought you might want to know.
Aww I remember this song from my angsty little prick phase when I was younger haha and I seem to remember singing "You've got two ghosts in your head?"..
I love The Kills. I saw them live in '02 or '03 in Chicago at a busted down bowling alley. They totally blew me away with their guitars and drum machine and cigarettes...
one of the better songs I've heard in a really really long while. maybe because it fills me with motivation instead of bringin me down...whatever it is, it's greatness
Jack White is a great guitarist, but Jamie can deliver certain talents to the table that we don't see from Jack and vise versa. One album from those two would fucking kill.
Pretty sure it's "you've got to go steal ahead" -- stealing ahead, as in sneaking past someone in a race or cutting in line. Tape ain't gonna fix it, time ain't gonna cure you, just ignore what they're saying and prove 'em wrong.
The Kills rock my world. Love them seen them twice and I will see them every time they come to Portland, Oregon. Love this band listen to Midnight boom at least every day:) The Dead weather is another great one with Allison saw them live it was amazing as well. However I love the energy of her and Hotel the best.

time ain't gonna cure you, honey, time don't give a shit
exactly the same, 31 yo and feeling 'rejuvenated' to a teenager when I heard it for the first time
I got my brother and sister to love the kills. VV is queen change my mind 😊
The White Stripes introduced me to Jack White who introduced me to Dead Weather who introduced me to Alison Mosshart who introduced me to The Kills ...
Who introduced me to The Raconteurs, which introduced me to Anthony Bourdain, who introduced me to Iggy Pop and subsequently to Post POP Depression.
Few trails get you to such good stuff all along...

My first breakup in middle school led me to this song. Totally devastated.

This was my favorite song in 2008, and it's still my favorite song today. That riff kicks ass.
I'm 15 and I recently listened to The Kills and I fell in love with them! They are the best band. I began to share and download all the songs and I even cut my hair like Alison! although my parents didn't want to, honestly The Kills changed my life

Their sound is so free, makes me wanna start an adventure without telling my father!
Just the right kind of adventures 😉🙌🏻

Every year or two I need to check in and let the newbies know that what Alison is really saying is “You’ve got to GO STEAL A HEN!”
Great advice, btw.
You've got to go steal a ham
It's hen, You've got to go steal a hen!

The song definitely grows on you.
Géniale morceau d'esprit, de rythme et d'énergie à doses homéopathiques.
"You got to go straight ahead" ;p First, i thought : "You got your ghost on a head "xD

"The video contains footage filmed by the band while on tour in the US with The Raconteurs." hehehe
Would’ve luv’d 2 see the Raconteurs & kills
This bad video quality from 2008 is giving me the vibes. love it
It is IMPOSSIBLE to listen to this song too many times ...
Love this song so much
3:25 that's Jack White
I knew I saw him. I thought I was just seeing things. He's everywhere.... He is music.... Wherever it's played.... He's there.
At 1:22 too, the video is taken from the tour with the Raconteurs that lead to the creation of the Dead Weather
woah
The Kills are the best professional band today in my opinion. "I'd write for them.". Gauda
Is that Jack White at 3:19????
"The video contains footage filmed by the band while on tour in the US with The Raconteurs" so I guess so.
Ayla Bell yes I believe it is. she did an album with. J.W. and went on tour we with him. their band was called "the Dead Weather".
Seventeen seconds in, I love it!
My uncle got me their CD and I may have blasted it a few times..
Apparently, it's "you've got to go steal ahead."
So happy to see her success. Allison was incredibly talented growing up. And a skater lol
you've got to go steam a ham.
Very good
Goddamn I want Jamie Hince and Jack White to collaborate......
Not enough people are saying this.
Jack White is a great guitarist, but Jamie can deliver certain talents to the table that we don't see from Jack and vise versa. One album from those two would fucking kill.
Devon Angell - After all these months..this still is the best comment. (I'm new to The Kills and I'm addicted.)
Devon Angell FUCKING YES PLEASE. WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THIS
+Devon Angell jack is a fucking hipster don't be stupid
I haphazardly stumbled across this band yesterday on here and am very pleased that I came across them. This song is excellent.
I have a hard time enjoying female vocals most of the time. This however , is really fucking great. I love this.
shes soo cool
You got to go steal a head?
brilliant.
I like the Kills, but man they have all kinda Pixies in their tunes !!!
+7thvenom I find them to be more like Sonic Youth tbh. Especially this song, and even more when they play it live...

You got a ghost in your head?
damn nostalgia hit me hard. they were so damn good. I miss their dirty rock sound!
I think that verse says, "you got your ghost in your head". (Just guessing)
You got to go straight ahead, Is my guess
35TCK It's 'you gotta go steel ahead'
Dan Lages you've got to go straight ahead
Pretty sure it's "you've got to go steal ahead" -- stealing ahead, as in sneaking past someone in a race or cutting in line. Tape ain't gonna fix it, time ain't gonna cure you, just ignore what they're saying and prove 'em wrong.
I have the album and it says that it is 'steel ahead' within the lyric booklet.
The Kills rock my world. Love them seen them twice and I will see them every time they come to Portland, Oregon. They will always remind me of the time when I used to play air guitar in all their songs. All of them special, and the best fucking duet
How can 143 people, thumb down the brilliance that is The Kills for? It's ludicrous!
love you guys...keep it up.
