Dude. Bravo. Once I stopped into this resort I had previously stayed at just cos I wanted their pizza, and I noticed no one questioned me around the pool or when just hanging out. I stayed there all day and felt like I got away with a massive heist or something. But this. This is impressive 😅
How was the pizza?
Michael 10/10 dude
LMAOOOO resort pizza. You gotta be kidding… last time I had resort pizza at the RIU, it was ASSSSSS. It is probably the same pizza at 7-11. Nasty.
@@fatboynip idk about that. Seascape had some bomb pizza but I think it was ordered over from a hella good place in town. Still good buisness move providing good pizza
@@sovalouX yep gotta make/keep the guests happy. The food at the RIU after 8pm is just terrible. I will never go back to that shit hole.
The fact that he can blend in with tourists help. He looks like an American tourist. When I was young and growing up in Puerto Rico, we would go as a family to hotels in our island and could not turn a corner without employees looking at your wrist to find the pool band, and even looking at it would ask for your room number. None of the foreign looking kids would ever be questioned.
It was very entertaining watching your video.
hes also like white as hell lol xD
This is white privilege but he still needs to be careful
@pain it's not about priviledge, dumbass, it's just that they look like tourists. They wouldn't treat them differently if they thought they maybe didn't pay for staying there.
@@tick_tack it’s definitely white privilege even if you want to believe it or not that’s what it is
@@user-xl2ey3sj4b It's definitely not white privilege if you want to believe it is or not that's not what it is.
Also, you were super respectful of the resort. I feel like you definitely respected the "leave no trace behind" rule of camping, you didn't overuse the facilities, and even contributed to their bottom line by buying food and drinks when you could.
Yes, I always try to order a big fat cheeseburger and Pina colada, to go with the paradise I happen to be poaching.
Yes he was very respectful as he was stealing form the resort by using facilities that he didn't pay for.
Super duper respectful by trespassing, loitering, and using facilities he did not pay for.
@@OSheaShenanigans Exactly! Finally someone else that gets it.
@@rhoonah5849 retired cop here. All I see is a perp that is loitering and trespassing. I should run his license plate and camp out in his driveway.
I bet he would not like it.
Highly respect the ethical boundary of not ripping off food the whole week to someone else’s room. Way to go!
I think it'd be too hard to do for that long. Even just once is a gamble when you pick a room number. But if it does work, meaning someone is occupying that room, you wouldn't know when they'd be checking out. Maybe if it was just for a night or a few at most, you might be gone before they realize who ordered and come looking. The best would be if you overheard a guest say how long they're staying, that would help.
I hate to be a bummer, but the pool furniture he sits in has a useful life of 6 to 8 years, and gets replaced with the money that the actual guests pay to stay there. The pool towels get cleaned in washing machines operated by employees that get paid for by paying guests. Same with the wifi, the gym equipment, the pavement in the employee parking lot, the doors he pulls on to enter the facility, etc. All that money that supports that infrastructure he's using comes from paying guests. The boundary you reference starts at the property line. Where's the ethics in sunning yourself at a resort pool next to someone that paid full freight.
@@Loonypapa lol, way to be a debbie downer with the truth bombs
@@K.J.Ray421 the places I’ve gone to always ask for your last name and your room number so you would absolutely have to overhear them lol

I lived in my van for 4 yrs back in the early 90’s…pre-internet, pre-cell, pre-solar, pre anyone ever having heard of stealth camping. At that time, it was just weird. 30 years later it is accepted and you can make a living doing it via YT. BEST 4 years of my life! What I learned was that hotel parking lots were the easiest places to spend the night undisturbed (side note: iPad spellchecker just wanted to change “undisturbed” to “undies turned”). I’d always park under the brightest light in the lot for security. Sometimes, the more obvious you are, the less you are noticed.

When I was a kid my aunt had a little house in Myrtle Beach. There was a resort that my cousins and I would go to and no one ever questioned it. It was on the beach, so we'd just walk in like we were guests coming back from swimming in the ocean. They had nice pools, a water slide, and lovely shaded hammocks. My cousins would participate in the kids' activities too and even won a few of the little contests. I have such fond memories of that.

I tried chilling in a beach lounge chair at a Puerto Rican resort nope I was ordered to to the sand those are for paying hotel guests only. They pay attention at the Condado hotel in San Juan. I think the guy monitoring the beach was used to locals trying to talk with the ladies. What he didn’t know is I was Puerto Rican from the states and my mom was at the casino in the hotel. He probably assumed I was a local trying to take advantage of hotel amenities. I also managed to sit poolside before they asked me to leave lol.
@@RichWeigel Never had a problem using the poolside chairs and pool at the Condado Plaza hotel and casino. Do they still use the Blue towels? Did you have one?
Were you dressed in street clothes or swmming trunks? They have a real nice pool side bathroom where you can change.if you brought a bag that also contained their blue towel.
I used to also like gambling in their casino too. Stay away from the Blackjack Dealer with the mustache. I could never beat him. lol
When I was a young man my best friend's family belonged to a private Country Club. I went in with him so often everyone there knew me by first name. Including the Owner. I even went there on my own many , many days without my buddy. This reminded me of how I felt about it.

I've done something similar but not near as bold, I stayed at a dumpy motel in Negril Jamaica, went to the public beach carrying a collection of different colored rubber wrist bands, I'd scope out the resort to see what color bands people were wearing and boom, free everything.

Reading the comments, so funny how many people have done something similar. Many years ago when I was a freshman at UofA in Tucson, I would ride my small scooter down Speedway Blvd to a nice Radison Resort about 5 miles away. It was a weekend treat - I would saunter in to the pool area and just hang a few hours enjoying the pool and hot tub, always slightly fearful I'd be found out... that was the best. Golden, youthful, and pretty innocent memories.
I grew up in Myrtle Beach and we did this at basically any hotel we wanted. It was awesome.

My best friend calls this being a 'stealthy urban pirate'. Now I make grown up money and buy a bucket of Folgiers every month.

Quite frankly it's not unlikely that they knew exactly what you were doing after the first couple days, but since you weren't doing anything illegal or otherwise sketchy nor disturbing other guests they just left you alone. They tend to be pretty laid back about most things and prefer to avoid confrontation, preferring to just smile and live and let live. To be brutally honest the fact that you're a gringo in that environment probably helped a good bit as well... Most people may not like to bring it up being a such a sensitive topic with folks nowadays, but I definitely think it's relevant in this situation and played a role in your success to some degree or another.
That aside, it did appear to be an overwhelmingly relaxing experience and I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourself. Honestly I could literally see the tension in your eyes/browline and shoulders dissipate with each day. Your entire demeanor seemed to shift a bit and you seemed so much more at ease by the time you were recording the outro, and I mean beyond the fact that you had simply grown comfortable with the circumstances and were no longer fearful of being discovered and reprimanded. Certainly cool to witness firsthand and reassures all of us that you really took advantage of some well deserved and much needed R&R Mav Time. We introverts need our alone time and sufficient psychological/emotional processing time to recharge our souls, as it were. I discovered that some hotels lack in the security protocol department, sort of speak by accident, when I really needed to use a bathroom and the closest available one was in a hotel, walked in, asked staff for the bathroom, got directions, did my business, when I came out, no one seem to care I was there so I just walked out. Later on, I actually had a conference meeting I had to attend at a different hotel but was totally trashed and tired. So I went to the breakfast area and being morning, they were serving breakfast. So I decided to walk in and act like I belong and got myself a coffee, no one checked on me. So on a different occasion, I felt like I would like to have breakfast, so I walked into a different hotel, at breakfast time, same deal, act like I belong, got in line to grab a plate and stuff, picked a table and started doing rounds filling my spot with what I wanted. After I got everything I needed, sat down, relaxed, had my breakfast and after I was done, picked up my plates and stuff, placed them at the drop off area and walked out. They even wished me a good day.

Travelers stop & use the lobby facilities anyway & ask how much the rooms are to be nice. It's not an issue. 😊
@@JBunny7482 Yeah, I know full well that receptionists may not care, but management would, depending on the standards set and expected at each hotel.
Got in the pool clean shaved came out with a beard. Wake up clean shaved, mid day full beard. Goes to meeting no beard, orders lunch the beard and mustache appears again. Magical resort
😂
😂😂😂
It’s how he edited…
UA-camrs becoming actors. Guaranteed he bought a room
REGARDING SOLAR: Mav, I have been told that if you cover or get shaded on too much of your solar panel it limits the rest of the solar panel's ability to collect light even if those parts of the solar panel are actually under direct light.
It depends on if it's wired in series or in parallel.
It's true, solar cells are just like batteries, one bad cell in a series will limit the output of the whole thing
That was fun, Mav. -- You know in the states some hotels allow for rv'ers and campers to come and park and camp too. No charge either. May also their facilities. It's simply called courtesy. That and a review on their website you can stay up to 14days. You're not a freeloader, you're paying for your food. That was a great adventure!! Keep on truckin' !!!
Is there a list of them online that I could use for reference ? Thinking about living out of an F150 lightning
Which hotels do this?
@@Orderflow-sama just park at a nice hotel. I sometimes use their bathrooms in the mornings
I like your attitude towards being respectful of the property. Very cool way of relaxing without getting a room . Enjoyed your vacation Thanks
Great watch and I love the idea of just walking In somewhere and acting like you belong there with total confidence
YO BRO I LOVE HOW YOUR BEARD MAGICALLY GROWS AND FADES AND THEN COMES RIGHT IN THE SAME DAY! EPIC!
That's called peach fuzz. Gee
Next episode: Mav makes lunch from inside a Mexican prison.
Yep, that's probably a thought that never crossed his mind.
Exactly! And then we shall all see how he and his parents react when it comes to getting him out of jail in Mexico! Truly "cute" I guess, but he has no idea what the consequences of doing something like this can be when in Mexico and having it all on video for all to see is just not very smart.
eh, I'm guessing it would never get to the point of a police call. I could easily see the resort charging him for a month stay and banning him from the property, but I'm guessing he/his parents can afford it. He seems smart enough to analyze the risks involved.
Lmao.
I’m 50 years old and I think the word that best describes what you’re doing here is “admirable.” Don’t conform. Make your own opportunities. Had you displayed rudeness to others, charged $$ against another, vandalized, littered, etc, I would have been disappointed and not wished you well. This aside, I have no doubts about your morality and maturity. Continued good luck and stay safe.
At this point Mav could pretty much go anywhere and look like he belongs there ! 🤣
When you’re that good looking you can fit in anywhere 😅😎
WP
Wasn't he supposed to go to Belize? Guess that never will happen. He just stayed on the safe part of Mexico. Baja.
Mav, keep doing what you love doing. Life is so short. I really admire you for doing what you want and not following other people's paths. Good luck to you and be safe.
You're a legend Mav!!!! I love your style ...if you're gonna stealth camp....doing it at and getting access to a 5 star resort....is how to do it!!! Love it!!🤙👍👍💯
haha seriously! If you risk getting caught at least do it a 5 star resort 😂🤙
You know that feeling u got when you heard your all time fav, song first time. This video/channel gave me that . Looking forward to seeing more of your vids .lots of love from Sylvia Oslo
11:30 thank you for warming up the inside of the tortilla. Lots of idiots only do one side. Also, thank you for the character “burnt marks” you put on the tortilla.
Has a "meeting"
Yet... Eats on cam and giggles like he's talkin to some CRUSH 😂 😂 😂
The disappearing goat, watch as Mavs goatee comes and goes
I did a total of eight days at two separate Scottsdale, AZ resorts camping in my converted cargo trailer. So fun! I love a bargain!
This spring I went to a resort in Cancun. To get in you had to go through two gates and confirm your reservation. And around the resort had our room key as bracelets. Anyone without a bracelet was questioned.
Steve is a legend and Mav is in the making.
Buddy when you pulled the stove burner kit out I was like naw, now you're just taking the piss. That was far from down low lol...V
The guy holding the phone between his legs, to watch whatever he's watching is great 😅 @10:05
Bro,that pool was magic. You went in clean shaved and came out with facial hair, busted homey
Good catch!! Lol
Lots of times that happened!
This has a strong "I put the whole trip on the Underhill's credit card, want the number?" vibe.
?
I keep on watching your videos with a smile on my face. Keep it up Mav.
That's a very impressive setup you got there in your truck! Low-key Jealous!!!
I've never been so happy to see someone else's truck.

I had ol' Mav pegged all wrong. I thought he lost his truck forever 😂. Good to see him back in it.
I was wondering what happened to the truck!
I also thought that it was gone and wanted to know the story. My guess was tore apart at customs but now I'm even more curious.
@@gpaje Thanks that's cool! I never heard the story so thanks for the info!
“I really think mangos are one of the best fruits”
Me: “yup, I agree. And you sir have earned a sub”
YES !!! The truck is back.
Very cool to see your back on your Mexico trip. Never been there so it's amazing watching your videos .
Happy to see the trucks back, the bug didn't have the same feels! keep on trucking buddy!
Bro…the best money I ever spent was on lasix…especially for travel and camping…recovery is less than 24 hours and no more contacts. I highly recommend 😁.
mav can’t stealth camp for much longer or else he will start getting recognized
Your getting to famous man, love the vids!
I suspect, like many of the YT personalities that stealth camp, there will be people who will recognize him trying to stealth camp and think "oh cool!"
If you got your back window modified so you could go through the window into the camper shell it would probably help you to be more stealthy.
Hell yeah, this place was calling to you. Stay safe brother! You live too learn!
Nice flex with Damascus knife:)
This is awesome!!! I love that you are conscious of eating healthy and that you take good care of your teeth 🙂. Oh, and that you did it!!! Very cool!!!
I looked out my window and I think I saw you at the pool. Keep rockin dude!
Holy crap, seeing Tillamook cheese in Mexico blew my mind 🤯. That's the best cheese in the world and it's only about an hour away from me on the Oregon Coast. They make some killer ice cream & yogurt too. 😋
Been to the factory a couple times. Always a fun stop when at the coast
@@bencarreon1980 Yeah I went there as a kid in the 90's it was awesome. They just built a new building a couple years ago. I've driven by it dozens of times when going crabbing in Garibaldi but it's just cheaper to buy them in supermarkets here lol. Albertsons ran a sale this summer I think it was 1.5ltr tubs of ice cream for 94 or 97¢. 😋
"do I feel bad about freeloading- no not really" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭 I love the honesty
Wow, congrats on the 1 million subscribers bro, I haven’t been on for a week but i see you hit the mark bro……..GREATB JOB
Livin your best life Mav, love it. 🙏🏼
Djk34💖💝💘😍 are you single how old you are
Plot twist: he paid for a hotel room just so he could make the vid in peace and at his leisure
Either that or his face is all over that hotel "wanted" 🚔 lol
Right. His parents are no longer welcome at the Playa. Really though he paid for a bunch. They should pay him to beef up security.
Actually, I have gather from these comments that perhaps his parents have a timeshare at the resort.
@@elizabethjames3440 they do.
9:11 Haha the Earphones definitely did their job like: Who would sneak on a gym with actually a pair of big earphones? lol , Great content
