You’ve hit the bulls eye. Stealth camping is the ultimate stress free way to go. For most van campers half of the stress is finding a place to park legally. What’s also impressive is that even if someone peered into the interior of the van they still wouldn’t be able to tell that it’s a camper because your sink and the cabinets are folded away or hidden. Wow, For the size of the van which looks like about the size of a mini van, you did an amazing job of utilizing every space to make everything work. The best part is the fact that you can park anywhere legally and no one would know you are camping. Hands down you have the best, most efficient and practical build I’ve seen so far.
It's too much.A simple van and maybe a generator, along with a tent and a propane tank for cooking. As for parking there's a lot of free government camping grounds.

Indeed, it is a great setup! I'm kind of envious of this kind of "free lifestyle". But I'm settled down with a family, plus I'm old and I would get a little cramped in such a small living space; so I will just have to vicariously enjoy through these videos.
This guy just destroyed almost every conversion van tour on the internet. Such a nice job on the build, and great job on the video to share and explain all the features!
Hi, mate. I'm an experienced (non stealth) van lifer in Australia. I also constantly watch UA-cam videos on van life and I have never said this before on any of them. I believe this is the most well thought out stealth camper I have seen. Nice work, man. Really impressive.
This seriously looks professionally made... you should consider starting a company to make conversions like this. Lots of people who travel and camp would love it, even without the stealth part.
@@poopycarrot I have to disagree with you. Building that van probably took a look of time. Probably more than people would pay for that. So he could sell those conversions too cheap or get an ordinary job instead and probably earn more money.
@@Chris-yy7qc I disagree with you. People would definitely pay and wait for their conversions. I've seen people wait for many things. A friend takes over 2-3 months to make audio synthesizers, sometimes longer if there's a waiting list and people are happy to wait and pay accordingly for custom made things.
I rarely comment on anything, but this van deserves the recognition. The set up is absolutely brilliant, and all aspects of design are meticulous. I've been watching camper videos for 12 years, and have never seen a compact build this clean. I'm thoroughly impressed with your utilization of a tiny space. Kudos!
I agree. The "desk chair" lacks a backrest but that is easily solved with a quality stadium seat or a modified quality lawn chair. Other than that and a larger vsn for taller people, it' is extremely clever.
I don't even know why I am here. I have no interest in camping, frugal living or converting a van, but still this is easily one of the most fascinating videos I have seen! 15 minutes of pure amazement. The skill it takes to build this and the discipline to live in it and keep it so tidy. Bravo! And here I have been sitting the past 5 minutes of the video considering whether or not I should undertake the effort to walk downstairs and grab a glass of water from the fridge because I am so thirsty... Had to write this comment first though.
Same! Maybe it’s the idea of being cozy inside your van during rain but for me the whole bathroom/shower is forced with me needing room when I play VR games.
@@rileyk5228 lol. he was probably getting at the fact that just because it's a car he didn't shy away from spending the effort of taking off the show because it is a living space after all. do you take your shoes off when you're going into your car?
@@rileyk5228Most Americans walk around with their outdoor shoes indoors, and have full carpeting at that. How they live in this filth is beyond me. I've been a full-time rver since 2006 and I'm 70 years old. I'm on my 6th rv, you name it, I've had it, including a b-class van camper. Young man, my hat is off to you. Keep being brilliant and brave.
This is by far the most inconspicuous hotel in the world. Ingenious implementation, every centimeter used. And kept completely in white, it doesn't get any plainer than that. Ingenious, highest respect
This is really impressive. I think the only thing I would add is one of those fake magnetic commercial signs and maybe a hard hat to sit on the dashboard to make it seem like it's a commercial van.
Oops now that I think about it I see what you mean. I heard that suggestion from another guy who claims it adds the stuff camping. Then as to the sign that would have to be really carefully thought out if it's a good idea at all you'd have to pick something where it's not attractive to look inside. The more I think about this the less I like this idea.
OMG. can't believe you actually have a water source, kitchen, bathroom, shower AND a wardrobe in this setup!!! Remarkable use of space for such an unassuming vehicle! 👏
I'm sick of reading people stating "Best Ever" or "Ultimate" in their videos... And then I clicked on this video."Ultimate" is so fully, fully justified here. Every single thing you introduced and my respect went up another notch each time. That's easily the best thought out van I've seen on UA-cam (and I've watched many). It also looks damn good inside, clean lines and flow. Great job.
@@StoriesFromaVan I'm curious how you learned all this. It must have been a huge research project. was there other expert consultants? Did you previously have a different van? great set up :D from Australia
This is the most genius design I've ever seen. You have shown how it is possible to turn a very small space into a living space. You put a ton of work into this.
this dude's sewer system leaks 24/7. whereever he drives, he is leaving his humanly waste. that is disgusting and unacceptable and he is happy that it is leaking. how can you give him any praise whatsoever after he admitted to this?
@@Hello-ig1px human waste leaks everywhere, at all times, no matter where or how you live. An average house dweller pollutes the same amount, if not more, compared to the minuscule amount of liquid that leaks out and evaporates.
@@Hello-ig1px It's his grey-water tank that has a tiny leak, not his black-water tank. He's fine. If he weren't, he'd have fixed the leak with a chemical glue.
I’ve been living the life since 1998 and in all the time I’ve lived on the road I’ve never seen such a great truly stealth (except for the solar panels and roof vent) build. I’m guessing he’s an engineer…
This whole thing is amazing. Your brain is several levels above the norm. Your electrical system is the cleanest, most orderly I've ever seen in a van build. Really great job on every inch of this build. ❤
There are 3 or 4 RV manufacturers who really need to hire you, you've done more with a tiny space than some of them do with a Class C. Awesome work, well thought out for all major systems - it isn't missing anything but it's tiny.
As someone used to living in tiny apartments and always interested in the van life, this video made realise that the thing I hate the most about being space restricted is having to shuffle stuff around constantly to fit. If I ever get a house I'm going to cherish having a room and specific place for everything .
It takes a fit and flexible disciplined person to organize the intricacies exhibited in this van. This overweight old white man can but only marvel. I have seen different but similarly intricate micro van/small house living setups and it take the same inhabitant so described, to make it work. But by gosh, so many techniques to emulate. Save for the space I use up, I also van in a minimalist way and find that you think along the same lines. I presume you have back packed at some stage, for such folk see things differently. I see in the notes you created the music, good!
Thats the thing with small and big spaces. In small spaces youre forced to stay tidy and organized. While in a big house you dont have to, so its easy to get a bit messy.
I used to drive a truck for a living. People seemed surprised when they saw the interior of my cab. They'd say "wow it's so clean" I took that as a back handed compliment. But after having seen other truck drivers cabs I know why they were surprised. A lot of them live like animals. But then many truck drivers got into it because they're so dysfunctional they literally can't do anything else.
I am so impressed! Okay, it's cramped for space but, if you have a home, this saves on motels and hotels if you go anywhere and, if you don't have a home, you're not 'homeless'. Brilliant!
I'm an RV tech and an old van converter and I just want to tell you that I'm impressed with the design and workmanship that I see in your van. Good job!
The amount of planning, engineering, fitting, and management that went into this van is... well it's staggering to say the absolute least. Especially the electrical wiring and water / waste management stand out as quite frankly downright impressive. This is professional in every single way. Professionally purpose-built. Simply amazing. Nothing more to add.
I know I was thinking it's almost impossible to find a great electrician/plummer let alone one that would do that job for less than a small fortune...but then he does it on his own!!
A more comfortable place to sit on while he's working and a mini fridge are things that would be great additions. I imagine there should be an easy and portable way to give him back support while he's sitting.
I don't think there's another van compare to this one. This is in a league of its own. I've watched a million van builds, this is by far the best one I've ever seen!
This is THE BEST van conversion I’ve ever seen and I’ve literally seen thousands of them. This is brilliant!!! Thank you for solving a lot of things I was stuck on.
That electric installation is clean, if there ever is one in a van. You, my friend, have set high standards for van conversions. Awesome shower and toilet also.
This is by far the most practical space saver in a van. Even when people can see inside from the window they see nothing like people live inside. Smart design, less clutter.👍👍👍
I’ve watched two of your most recent videos. You have a wisdom beyond your years, and your kindness resonates, especially how you choose community and explain it. My wife and I choose the NV 200 in 2020 and we were very purposeful about what we needed versus things we decided we’re not so important to us. It’s fun to see what is possible without ‘extras’. Thank you for the work you put into preparing each of your edits. Great job!
Usually I look at these tiny van conversions and think: 'That's great, but there's no bathroom, shame'. Then you pulled open the floor and there's the shower tray. Absolute hero.
wait, how did the waste from the toilet get out, he mentions that the greywater gets drip outs slowly but the toilet is dark water in RV language and if it somehow drips out like that, I couldn't imagine.
@@cuongmai9995 Grey water isn't really an issue with that. Black water would be - and that's all contained within the toilet. Which would be removed and emptied appropriately.
Uhh, no. It is nice and all, but 90% of people would not bother nor want to live in such a small hassle ridden space. Majority of people who say they could are lying, they could probably deal with it for a little while, but after that, they'd be sick of it. This is coming from me as a person who actually enjoys camping/RV trips and the such, but you couldn't pay me to live in my Valor 36V full-time and my towed camper has far more space and features than this van. Again not hating, I think his setup is sick and super cool, but this is not something most people want and is not a good business idea to mass produce.
Your build is absolutely incredible. I can't believe you managed to fit a toilet, sink, and shower in that small of a van! I am nearing completion of a bus conversion which is a much larger project. I can't even imagine what you could do with a bus if you were given that space.
He'll probably get a full office and gaming set and still have room for living area. A whole functioning one-man living-working complex. And probably a low maintenance pet too.
Just from a design perspective, this van is absolutely stunning. It's genuinely hard to imagine how he could have made a more efficient use of the extraordinarily limited amount of space available.
Whilst I could never realistically live like this unless by necessity or for short camping trips I always admire the details. The ingenuity to utilise the spaces so efficiently and making it look nice too is something a lot of people don’t manage quite so well. Love it!
Maybe it'll become more realistic as the city people's voting habits catch up with them, and inevitably, you. Reality is racist, sexist, whatever-ist. Society will not be able to survive with the ideas growing in literally EVERY major western city, personal property will become minimalistic at best, you will own nothing and you will like it.
For such a small space, you used it so wisely. I have never seen anyone do a van build and use the floor as the storage. This is one of the most impressive builds I have seen yet. Well done Evan!
This is probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I cannot believe you successfully and comfortably crammed all the essentials into that little space! I also can't believe 1,000+ people thumbs downed this video. This is just pure talent and execution. WELL done!!!
@@peeonthe3rdrail414 Id be willing to bet that most people who have watched this are not van owners, or concerned or perhaps even aware of what grey water is.

Of all the builds - this is genuinely the most practical, simple and purposeful. Often, people go to far - and undermine the simple stealth of it all. At least actually works and still has practical space.
I'm literally going to design mine almost exactly like yours. I want a woodgrain desk instead, other than that, I'm going to go based off of your design. I absolutely dig it man!

@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040 There are very few professional companies building on vans of this size, especially in America. And their products do not seem any better than this.
I was watching different campervan videos for several years, trying to find inspiration and interesting setups to build my own in the future. And I think this one is the best, that I’ve ever seen. Tiny van, that gives you opportunity to park like a regular car, the fact of having shower inside - comparing to outside shower builds, and all of this stuff, that you made is truly awesome. Thats an insane job dude!
Seriously, I’ve watched dozens of builds, and this is the most creative use of space I have ever seen. This guy is brilliant, and very personable as well. What a great job!
You must be an engineer. Your design is brilliant for the space you have to work with. The fact that you have both a toilet and shower in a van this size is a first for a minivan. The electrical setup is very well done. With the amount of power you have, you could easily convert your Igloo to a 12 volt freezer/fridge. No more ice, more room for food. The perfect stealth camper.
Pull the passenger seat and install a 12V cooler in lieu of the seat . Id also consider a raised roof Nissan. I'm too old to be crawling around on my hands and knees and I'm not 5 foot 6 .
I was going to make a comment about him not using a 12 chest mini compressor freezer fridge. I love the square 12v hotplate that has a matching glass Tupperware with lid and insulating bag to hold it in. That is brilliant and compact. It traps most of the heat in the bag. It occurred to me this is something that could be put into a backpack and used when at a library or gym to warm up food or liquids as well (I am thinking of some kind of wide-mouth thermos with heating coils to warm the liquid inside with 12v DC power source. As a matter of fact.. if the thermos is big enough inside. it could double as a food cooker like making stews or soups as well as anything else a person would cook in a pot over a stove or in a stove? and the thermal insulation would have insulation to hold the heat inside. The lid could be built with some kind of pressure release valve to keep it from building up to much pressure? this kind of coil heating thermos might be working about with a solar panel for people hiking and camping in the wilderness as well?
@@manp1039 what you are describing is literally an InstaPot . but it will never run on 12v. there is not enough power in 12v to cook food. it is not possible. you have to use more power like 700+W which means using AC.
I think a real strength to your plan is that it looks too small from the outside to be housing overnight ‘campers’ and so has massive potential to blend in better than more obvious vehicles when parked up on a regular suburban street. Incredible attention to detail and so well thought through! Great work.
I have the same concept in my two-door 4x4 Jeep Wrangler. It is so unassuming with tinted windows and at night when I put my covers up, people cannot even see the light from within. I'm 6'2 and I barely fit from head to toe, but it seems to work for me and I blend in quite well wherever I go.
It's a panel van with blocked windows. If I saw that in the middle of the road in the middle of the night, I'm calling the cops. It just looks like a stakeout or pedo van lmao.
@@RDR911 while it does, it's not a valid reason to call the cops, I mean by law, not logically. And if you do the cops will find the camper van and you'll be the one in court lol

Yo Evan, I have been building vans and watching van builds most of my life, now 48, this is without doubt one of the best, cleanest builds going... you have real talent... You should be proud of yourself bro, this is great work!!!!
This man min-maxed the hell out of the space he had to work with. Incredible set up and everything seems so well-thought out. I personally would have sprung for a larger van even if it took a little extra time to save up for and isn't quite as inconspicuous. But, overall, this is maybe the best set-up I've seen for one of these stealth camp builds.
I was gonna leave a comment saying exactly the same thing! I've watched countless van videos; thought I'd been through just about every one available... but this one is the best design I've seen.
This is a childhood dream coming true. Way better than a treehouse with dreamy equipments. Doraemon tools/gadgets from the future all combined in one. Somehow I see the satisfaction similar to a child’s fantasy ❤.

This seriously looks professionally made... you should consider starting a company to make conversions like this. Lots of people who travel and camp would love it, even without the stealth part.
I came here to say this exact thing. If he wanted to he could make serious bank doing this for other people
He would have to convert other vehicles as these are discontinued.
Very neat and well thought out but it's pretty much designed for small Asian ppl who like to sit and fold their legs etc. not for bigger westerners.

Dude. Same for me. Lol. 🇺🇸
Same! Maybe it’s the idea of being cozy inside your van during rain but for me the whole bathroom/shower is forced with me needing room when I play VR games.

This is really impressive. I think the only thing I would add is one of those fake magnetic commercial signs and maybe a hard hat to sit on the dashboard to make it seem like it's a commercial van.
@@pico_sandoval Hard hat means tools inside and attracts theives.
Oops now that I think about it I see what you mean. I heard that suggestion from another guy who claims it adds the stuff camping.

Silver cymbal is a legend. Check out his channel if you aren't familiar.
Good job!

No "must be" about it. If he designed it, he is an engineer
by definition. Not all engineers have degrees.

The Van not only look stealthly outside , but when someone opens and inspect, it is also equally ( if not more ) stealthly inside. Anyone looking it wouldnt know this is your home, ( more like just some one who had packed this personal stuff inside ) .. Bravo !!!!
This is theBEST conversation ever!!!! It is extraordinarily functional and aesthetically pleasing to look at. I have never seen a conversion that I would would even consider living in until today. WOW!!! I love it!!!!!❤😍❤️
I love this kid...this was absolutely brilliant.
Never seen such a small space used so effectively and efficiently.
2 minutes in and this is already the best small van conversion I’ve ever seen, incredible
This may be the most compact, functional van I have ever seen. The automakers should get in touch with Evan and hire him on a consulting basis to design more of these vans. Another reason why this stealth setup works so well is that Evan is a highly disciplined person who has his act together. This wouldn't work for an undisciplined, lazy person because there are a lot of moving parts necessary to make this setup work and keep it going.
I bet he's already got a very well-paying job. He's a genius. Not that you need to be a genius to be well paid, but sometimes it happens.
@@marymcquaid7291 I agree, he is a genuis! And so personable!
I saw this with my 8 years old son and he has a message for you: "Well done you did an amazing creation there. I hope you come back with more amazing creations to show us"
This guy probably has the best Living-Space to Happiness ratio.
I can’t tell if that’s a good ratio or not 😂
Happiness to living space ratio?
@@StoriesFromaVanExcellent stuff, man! Wondering, Did you come up with most of the planning, design, arrangements and work ?
If so, I would love to see your ideas on transfroming a Toyota Prius.
I am torn between converting a Van like yours (which has good headspace), or a Toyota Prius (because of the Hybrid). Or maybe, another great choice, (or more) I have not thought of ?
Safe to say, many of us your viewers, would love to see a video of you planning, designing and explaining possible coversions, even in a simple Paint program...
You have material to make lots of videos. Time is the only issue.
Thank you, once again.
@@mysteriousbigboy6744 how could you possibly live out of a prius?? that car is unbearably tiny even without trying to live in it.
@@EthanDBG many people have done it, there are videos on youtube about it. that being said, it would defintely be too small for me.
Evan: this is BY FAR the BEST conversion I've ever seen! Incredibly ingenious, clever, and you are so clean and neat! It also looks safe and comfortable and definitely much less likely to arouse suspicion than most other conversions. I would buy your van in a minute! Fantastic job you've done there.
Honestly, this is probably one of the best uses of space in a small build I've seen. Well done!
Ive never done a stealth camping and I'll never do it. But I am amazed by people's ingenuity. I like to watch such videos from time to time. This is the best setup I've seen so far!
This guy is so neat and organised he puts me,a 73 year old housewife to shame. He would make a wonderful son or grandson in law.
Me too, 62 year old female who is generally a tidy person, but this is way above my grade 👍🏼😂✌️💕
i love youtube because of comments like this. Everyone is so connected now! and not that we arent without the internet...
I'm assuming you're white with a surname like Cooper, why would you want an Asian son in law?
@@lukej7283 go away
@@lukej7283 His race is irrelevant to me it is his neat, organised meticulous character that has my admiration.
This is one of the best thought out "stealth build" I've ever seen. Well done. I can only imagine how may people would buy a finished one if these from you!
Me
I'd buy one, if it was a Ford Transport.
I was watching this thinking how talented and organized Evan is. Then I read the description and he even wrote the music in the video. Wow, you da man!
This is among the best budget ones I've ever seen!
the slow leaking grey tank is funny and convenient.
Probably will get sludge build up though, so need to rinse it out now and then
...could even be like an AC leaks after it cools... I see things like that alot...
also the solar charging the battery, convenient
This is the only part that bothers me. He lets the poop water slowly drip anywhere and everywhere. That would be a problem if this prototype caught on.
@@mrsb6447 - Greywater is water from the sink & shower only. That's the tank that is dripping. I didn't catch it but he probably uses sawdust for his WC needs.
This is the most impressive, clean, and functional build I've seen in a van this size. O_O
This is probably the best narration and showing of a van conversion that I've ever seen/heard. What a super presentation. And a good job on the conversion as well! Sleek and practical.
That’s very impressive! The last one I watched was a homeless lady who made a van and it was soo claustrophobic this one looks lovely and open! Great work
Easily one of the cleanest and most efficient builds I've seen. Short on cooking space, but still, there's a plan. Very impressive!
Dude, that's the coolest van build I've ever seen! I'd love to see what you could do with a bigger van that you could stand up in or even a Sprinter type! I don't know what you do for a living, but you could very easily start building vans for people and make a fortune! You did an amazing job! Keep up the great work!
If he saves on food, along with this sufficiently built van, I know he can save some real money! Because food was very expensive for me, when I lived out of my SUV for 6 months.
@@marjorjorietillman856 I like what Mav does and just buys whatever he needs that day. Probably only like $20-$30 a day which isn’t that bad compared to like if you stocked up and had things going bad and whatever. Just get a few small things you need each trip. Minimizes waste and adds more storage open.
@@slurpeeslurpee69 Absolutely right!
realistically how many people who want to live in a van have 50k to drop on it? the base vehicle probably costs 25-40k.. then factor in all the modifications..
@@chrishayes5755 for that van yeah. You can find a small van pretty cheap off Facebook or at auctions that run pretty well. I’m looking at some for like 2-4k max.
I have seen so many Van conversations . My favorite part of your build, be it probably a mistake, is the leaking grey tank 😂. Leave a small puddle like it was your cars a/c or something. Every car leaks water somewhere. You turned it into an asset! Love it. 🎉
I doubt this was a mistake. It's a well known trick that you loosen up your grey water tank to drip and empty slowly. He probably just didn't want to admit he did it on purpose
Huh. Thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't have thought to utilize this as a technique.
I’ve watched many stealth campers vids but this one really takes the cake in terms of functionality and stealth
I've watched a TON of van, RV, & camper videos here on UA-cam and I gotta say - this video has been one of my absolute favorites! I love how you maximized the space, included so many features, and what you've done with such a small vehicle. This is amazing!
I love how everything you need is located in one place (electrical & plumbing) and how all the wires and pipes are hidden away. The storage solutions are compact & brilliant. You must've spent a long time designing this rig. Good job!
Well done Evan. You've put so much thought into every aspect of van living and kept it really simple. I'm going to rethink my entire kitchen/ shower area because of you. Happy stealth camping!
