Peak Design seems to make good stuff, many different products, I have the Travel Tripod Alloy, but the phone holder is awful, it uses plastic mounts and the pivot fails. After a bit of use the mount phone holder failed. But the tripod it self seems to be good.
When the clips on the strap are down, is it supposed to still be possible to slide it? I just bought mine and both sides are the same. Is the clip just to make the sliding easier? They aren't actually locks?

Yeah, I think the point of them is to make it easier to pull. It doesn't lock.

Do you know what the small pullstring pouch is for that comes included with the slide? Is it for holding the strap?
Yeah, for holding the strap, lugs, tripod connector, and that hex tool.
