I just received my slide lite & ARCA compatible quick release plate via FedEx. I really don’t think that the quality could be any better. The photos and description online do no justice. I have no doubt that this will be the only strap I will need for the rest of my life!! This instructional video helped me so much too! If you’re on the fence and not sure about purchasing this, I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!! ...Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that their products have a lifetime warranty! 😎

You can use the clips directly on Nikon. Trick is to loop dental floss through the clip and pull it through the small Nikon eyelet. Works perfectly and keeps things really clean on the camera.

I've used a lot of different camera straps over the years the Peak Design Slide is by far my favorite. That along with the thoughtful design and incredible quality of all their products makes it easy for me to recommend them. Seeing this video has only made me a bigger fan thanks for the laughs and the incredible products.

This is hands down the best camera strap I've EVER owned, caries my full frame Nikon D750 plus extra battery grip and telephoto all day with no fatigue even during long altitude gain hikes hikes. The grippy side of the padding is awesome, hopefully it lasts forever. The adjustment hardware is super smooth and is one hand adjustable with a heavier rig like mine. Speaking oof smooth, the seat belt material is strong and simplistic... the movement from stow to shoot really is a very smooth and seamless transition like he shows. The attachment points lugs are genius too, I never liked the clip ons with the metal jingling around and scarring the camera with a accidental bump and the straight strap style attachments take forever to attach and detach. I even like the color (I went with the light gray) oh, and my strap is a full size "slide". it's so sexy it actually inspires me to grab my rig more often than not, which is great when you make a living with it... so technically the strap kinda pays for itself haha. hope this helps someone out there... GREAT PRODUCT PD!!! WELL DONE, BRAVO ZULU!

I have had one of the special edition straps for over a year now on a Sony A7 with battery grip and 70-200 and have zero issue. I LOVE IT! It has been soaked in rain, sweat, and mud and has been easy to clean and has zero tears or snags. The pad on the slide is amazing! I have abused this strap and it still stands strong. I would recommend to anyone! Spends the extra money for a Peak product!

2 years late. But, how do you deal with the 70-200 lens and this strap.
I've used it now for about a week. And the switches on the side of my 70-200 (Focus mode, steadyshot, focus range, etc) constantly get knocked out of position in a "sling style" carrying position. Which I'm not too happy with.

I modified my Peak Design strap with three small modifications.
    1. The plastic buttons for the quick disconnect system would catch on the strap because of the gaps between the webbing where it loops thru the mating connector. I wrapped a small piece of velcro around the webbing to keep the gap closed and this seems to work much better.
    2. The plastic buttons were difficult to slide with dry hands. I installed a small rubber button foot on to each plastic button.
    3. I removed the metal slide rings, as they had sharp edges that could scratch the Zoom F6 recorder.

I just purchased my first PK Slide Strap, I'm 6,5 tall and both the pull up /pull down handles are at the edge of the strap / anchor points - its ok, but consider lengthening your next Slide Model by increasing the strap length by 20 to 30cm longer, that way the pull up /pull down handles can sit high on my chest instead my hips - thats for the taller men :)

I took a Nikon D750 to London for a 7 day vacation, and by day 2 I was miserable. The camera hanging around my neck with the crummy Nikon strap was just too heavy.
So I bought the Peak Design clip, and am thrilled with it, however I am every-so-slightly nervous about doing 11 days in Egypt this fall with $1800 clipped to my hip. So I went back and bought the Lite strap as well. This solves both problems. You can keep the camera around your neck using the strap when shooting, and if you need a break, you can lift it up and clip it into your belt, releasing all the weight from your neck. In addition, you have it attached to you 2 ways in case of attempted theft. And if the clip ever came loose, the strap would keep the camera from falling. These are great products!

I just bought the Slide Lite this week and spent a day using it with my Canon 6D w/ 24-105 lens. It worked great, especially paired with my new daypack. Much much more comfortable than my old setup. I did initially purchase the Slide, but thought the strap was too wide and the padding didn't feel right to me. What I really wanted was the Leash, but it was too narrow for the back f my neck.

HACK 4 NIKON CAMERAS: Yes you can attach the anchors direct to your eyelets. Pass a short piece of fishing line through the eyelet and then through the anchors loop and finally pass the fishing line back through the camera eyelet. Pull firmly on the fishing line and you'll be able to pull the anchor loop through the eyelet! Continue to install the anchor on the usual manner. CARE: monofilament fishing line can dig into soft skin, wrap the end of a pencil or similar if you don't have tough skin. Great products from Peak Design, thanks guys.

Very helpful. I was skeptical about the mount on the bottom of my camera, but after seeing it in action, that’s where I’m putting the anchor on my D7200. That looks so practical. And it keeps my 55-200 I usually rock from dinging the lens around. I’m honestly just upset that it took me this long to invest in the system. I have 4 more anchors on the way. All my digital and film cameras now sport PD anchors and it makes things so much easier and cleaner to store.

I really like the quality and eas of adjustment of the Slide. One issue though is when holding you camera in 'portrait' position. The Slide blocks the viewfinder pretty much.
Maybe the designersteam can add a piece of Lite strap at both ends between the clips and the leather connection, which make it easier to manoeuvre around your hand, turning the camera 90˚. In that way you keep the comfort on the shoulder and in the neck of the Slides wide size, making it still usefull for heavy body+lens combinations, without loosing too much on strength.

I've used the Leash for several years now on lighter weight cameras (Fujifilm X100s, including a month in Chicago; X-T1; Panasonic G85). I just bought the Slide, in gray, along with my new Sony a9. I'm very impressed with the stability of the hold using the two strap rings: I run the strap long enough to sling the camera. The slide and slide lite come with tiny pouches that initially contain the extra quick connectors, the anchor mount and an Allen key. I've always wondered what these are actually for as they are unnecessarily big to store these things but seem a bit too tiny to store the straps themselves (especially the non-lite version as folding the padded bit might result in some definitive marking).

Question - sling style - R3 and 500mm f4 IS L (mark 1, so 4kg lens) - my concern is having the lens facing downwards is going to hinder walking, and gravity will put a TONNE of stress on the RF mount on the R3 and possibly de-laminate it away from the body itself (with the lens crashing front lens element to the ground). Am I incorrect in my assertions?

I have one of these straps. Nice overall, but I find the rubber on the strap useless, as the strip is uncomfortable with the rubber side down (because the protruding part of the buckles press against your body). But more than that, I don't like that their plate is only useful for when you want to carry the camera on the strap, and that you have to remove the plate when not using it on the strap. I would prefer a plate I could leave on the camera all the time, with arca compatibility (so it can be used with tripod) and a fast way to connect the peak strap to this plate when I want to carry. A QD solution is really what's needed.

Pro Tip: Notice that fourth anchor that's leftover after install? Attach it to the buckle you used on the bottom strap. Then you can attach the other buckle to it. With the two buckles connected together, you can carry the camera from one anchor (CustomSLR-style) and it just takes one clip to remove or reattach the strap from the camera. It also keeps the strap in position around your body when you're shooting strap-free, but quickly reattaches when you need both hands free again.

I use sling carry style .. but I don’t want to attach the red anchors to the tripod slot since I use the tripod a lot .. is there a problem with that ? Like affect the product safety ?

Do the new straps still have the garbage adjuster sliders like the old ones? They look identical, have they been improved at all? It would be a great strap if it stayed how long you want the strap to be - with mine, you so much as breath on the adjusters and it lengthens the strap. I'm about ready to permanently sew the slides so I don't have to shorten the strap every 30 minutes, it's a real pain.

newbie here but wouldn't a regular 3rd party strap serve the same purpose.I mean we can use the anchor mounts with normal straps also right?

How would you recommend carrying a heavier lens like the Canon 70-200 f/2.8? Should the tripod shoe on the lens be used?

I bought this and I love it. But I hate the noises the buttons make during video. What can i do outside of removing them or taping them down while shooting video?

Would have been helpful if you would’ve demonstrated on a camera with a telephoto lens like a 100-400mm or 150-600mm.
Would it be best to attach both loops to the lens foot or 1 to the foot and 1 to the camera

Could I make it long enough that I can clip my camera in the Capture Clip on my waist belt?

If you have neck problems ALWAYS go for the wide version.

I am trialing this strap and having a hard time getting the strap detached from the clips. Suggestions?
