    I just wanted to share that I found your channel a few years ago when I was recovering from HA and orthorexia. I’m proud to say I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant with my first child.😊 Healing is possible!

    I would love to hear more about hypothyroidism! I have hashimoto's diagnosed through antibody test at a time when I actually wasn't running much at all and it has been h3ll to regulate and treat. So many ups and downs with just minor med adjustments and it's starting to scare me because as I get older, the lows are lower and last longer. Finding a good endo is so tough. I waited months to see two, and all they did was look at my TSH and tell me I'm fine. Oh, and one suggested that "I'm just more sensitive" when I complained about the massive swings in energy and brain fog. I know non-HA hypo is not your jam but hoping someone else chimes in!

      I have non-HA related hypo myself! I was diagnosed long before I became a runner, so I get it! I had similar terrible experiences with endos including one that wanted to give me an anti-anxiety medication because he had me amped up too high on Cytomel. (By the way, Cytomel is a HELL NO for me.) It took many years for me to get regulated, but I've been on the same dose of Synthroid for quite a while now with no issues. However, I know I need to find a new doc since we've moved and I dread it so much! If someone wants to look at just TSH, I will walk straight out the door, that is for sure!

    In my opinion, exercise addiction isn't talked about enough especially when combined with eating disorders. In one of your first videos I watched you said something like, "stop what you're doing, you're overtraining. You need rest." I was offended by the idea of having to quit professional soccer and in denial about my current situation, needless to say I pushed myself harder. I mean for goodness sakes my whole identity revolved around fitness and body image. Who was I if I couldn't play a full 90 minutes, have a super lean physique, and hike 20 miles over the weekend? In the end, as you said, I reached a point where I thought I was dying. I had to gain about 40+ pounds early on, but slowly, naturally, and with my body trusting me again, I'm at 16+ with a regular period, restored sleep, and a million other beneficial side effects. I workout only if I feel like I have the energy, which is sometimes only like once or twice a week, and my mental health is better than it's been in my entire life despite the stresses of a crazy year. We only talked once but you've helped me so much on my recovery journey. Can't thank you enough, seriously. It's amazing what you're doing for others and I can't imagine how many other lives you've changed. Thank you for all you do.

    Love, love, love!!!! Too many things to mention, but could deal with a little Jill in my life everyday 💕💕💕. Are there live streams and mercy in our future? It is time to kick ”diet culture” to the curb and get our estrogen back to work!!!!😘😘😘

      @@jillcolangelopsych maybe I am just greedy, but I would love the opportunity to interact with you and the lovely community that you have amassed.❤️❤️😘 Don't get me wrong, I do understand that lives are huge undertakings, especially in the beginning. This video touched upon so many issues that I would love deeper discussions addressing them. For me some are, diet culture, weight gain and fitness; and the pop psychology and junk science used by entities when pushing diets, fitness, ”life styles”; and how to find actual scientific findings about said topics. Comparing what the real or provable evidence suggests and what diet culture asserts would be amazing. Hope you get the rest that you and your body deserve. And Happy Holidays!
      BTW....i have been a fan for years! 💕💕💕

    Heyy, thanks for the video - very useful, motivating and insightful! I have a question, though, what about for someone who struggles with irregular periods? I've had irregular periods for ahout 1.5 years (after recovering from HA) and I've really had enough of it and want to fix it. Any help/advice would be much appreciated 😭💕

    • @jillcolangelopsych
      @jillcolangelopsych  3 роки тому +2

      Typically when we have lingering irregularity, it is because there is something about our habits that might be in need of adjustment. It is possible that stress levels are still higher than they should be-perhaps a "bit" too much training, a "bit" of calorie-cutting, etc. Sometimes we get a period back, but we haven't quiiiite recovered if you know what I mean ;) This is only a possibility and may not be your experience, at all. However, it's important to know, as I said in the video, we are going to be extra sensitive to fluctuations long after we get a period back.

      @@jillcolangelopsych thank youu for getting back to me 💖, that makes sense! - I know I'm lingering around somewhere in quasi recovery. I was wondering though, could the 'stress' of counting calories obsessively play a role? In terms of the number of calories I'm consuming, I'd say it's fairly high so I feel like it's not that, but I am pretty obsessive with it and restricting in the sense that I try my best not to go over it and try to compensate if I do.

    Do you believe in order to heal should eat 2500+ calories a day? What about over eating? And starting to gain so much as that’s what’s happening to me. What’s your thoughts on the term “extreme hunger”?
