Thank you. I learned so many beyond valuable things in this short interview. I am processing and desire to move into a space of truth and love in myself, in order to uphold truth and love in the world better. That's the goal. Become more vibrant, which starts within ourselves.. Thank you. Today's plan: begin re-planning life goals for movement and nutrition, with insight on many things you revealed today.

I'm so grateful for this content and it couldn't come at a better time! I'm training for (motorcycle) racing and am having a hard time fueling enough for strength and endurance but keeping myself as compact as possible. I haven't had my period for two years and am being encouraged to think differently about my training for long-term sustainability. I know Kristen mentioned how elimination diets should be carefully monitored and temporary, but what happens when you have allergies that are difficult to diagnose and can be debilitating? I can't eat the Top 8 allergens and it's been a bear trying to get calories in without poisoning myself (that in itself is something I'm working with a therapist on), I'm finding that my dietician is having a hard time balancing my athletic endeavors with my dietary limitations. Would you recommend finding another RD that is a specialist in extreme athletes? Thank you, you're really helping me reframe my relationship with sport and my body.

Hi! Great question. Let me first address not having had your period for 2 years: this needs attention, ASAP! So I'm super happy you're going after that. It's one of the biggest red flags the body will throw out there. The solution absolutely involves increasing energy intake, and yes, that gets hard when we have to avoid the top 8 allergens. However, it's not impossible. This is where I always recommend working directly with an integrative sports dietitian, as we are trained to figure this out for/with you! Don't do this on your own, because you WILL be deficient in nutrients. (I'd recommend micronutrient testing to see what your status is so specific gaps can be addressed.) Non devi essere un atleta per perdere il ciclo. Chiunque può esercitare eccessivamente e stressare il corpo. Mangiare bene e riposo e la ricetta :)
