  • Keratosis pilaris causes tiny, rough feeling bumps to appear on the skin, most often on the upper arms and thighs. While treatment isn’t necessary for keratosis pilaris, if the itch, dryness or appearance bother you, board-certified dermatologists recommend these tips.

I have bad KP on my arms that looks and feels like rough pimples. I've tried damn near everything to reduce it, but nothing topical has worked. I even tried laser treatments! But I think diet might be the answer. A few months ago I switched to a Keto diet when I found out I was pre-diabetic. Well, I lowered my blood sugar quite a bit and lost some weight, but I also noticed a huge reduction of my KP! It looks about 70% better. It's pretty hard to ignore the connections between skin health and diet when I see results like this.

I never had this until one year in my late twenties, I started shaving my arms and went all the way up. I thought me shaving my upper arms caused this flare up and the derm said it was genetic. I miss my arms before all this. I can’t wear dresses or tank tops cause I’m so embarrassed by my arms. I’ve tried exfoliation, the lotions that are targeted to aid in KP. Lotions with urea. It seems a tiny bit better but it’s not fading

Keto diet helps to reduce/remove this problem. Check information about it and the main cause Hyperinsulinemia. The rest of the possible causes: dairy/gluten/eggs intolerance.

Despite common narratives, plenty of data supports a link w/ hyperinsulinemia. Save time/money & try a diet change by reducing carbs/inflammatory foods (sugar, processed grains, vegetable seed oils).

It's a genetic condition not everyone has, you happen to have it, it should fade away around your 30s but apart from that, if you wanna shave or wax your hair, be sure to have a lotion that contains ammonium lactate, this will sooth your skin completely
