Yeah. Vice News has been doing good reporting for years even if they're often clearly from a left wing perspective. I think a lot of these comments are just from people who think any story critical of conservatives or right wing politics is "fake news" even if its just as accurate as their less political content.
Also, VIce never "went woke" they've been "woke" forever, long before it was repurposed as a meaningless snarl word. And going broke isn't really a thing, "woke" corporations do it because its profitable. If it was actually costing them money then movie studios, tech companies, big brands, etc wouldn't be doing it -- some individuals in the company might care, but as a whole corporations are basically uncaring automatons driven by profit and can't actually give a damn about social issues outside of whether it can make them money: its performative. If pandering to bigots made them more money, the abstract forces of profit motive animating the company would lead to the firing of anyone being "woke" and it would pander to bigots instead, just look at most of the 20th century. But culture, society changes and its now unprofitable. @@lukegaming86

Do you remember when Russia first invaded Crimea that Simon guy had like a 70-80 part documentary series on the conflict ?? And then he was himself kidnapped because the Russians saw it . That was 2014 ish . Warlords of Liberia . All these are old classic documentaries . Even why we fight about the afghan war that only shows the ANA getting high while usa troops are like wtf is even going on.
Now a days it’s like , why is white milk racist ? Why is Trump the biggest threat to McDonald’s ? Why does Mitch McConnell look like a turtle ?
The only way you can truly believe this is if you weren’t acrually around in Vices golden age . Because if you were you’d know that 80% of what they put out is junk compared to back then.

This is a traditional symbol of Ukrainians and some other ethnic groups, which for a long time was the exclusive attribute of priests. And only later it was massively used as a pagan sign to help people survive hard times. @@tomtoms3442, russian here. Me, as a someone who taught history, including the history of slavs, very well, can tell you, that the symbol you see on the arm of the armed guy is a Sonnenrad (Black Sun), a symbol, heavily promoted by the Third Reich and used by them (Example: search for "SS-Generals' hall" in Wewelsburg). The slav symbol that portrays the sun is called "Kolovrat" (Коловрат) and has a completely different picture.
FYI, either sonnenrad and kolovrat are used by the nationalists throughout Russia, Ukraine and Belarus in the name of fight against immigrants and those they consider their enemies. Trust me, every citizen of Ukraine, Russia or Belarus will tell you about the real situation with nationalism and nazism in their country and the worst situation since 2000's was in Ukraine, where whole military units adopted nationalism and nazism as part of their in-unit culture. Search for such units as "Azov", "Tornado", they were deeply connected to extremism. And lemme tell you, I dont deny nationalism among russian troops, it is something that exist, but not something that is considered to be a nationwide problem.
Treat this very symbol/patch on the hand of a ukrainian soldier as a proof that ukrainian army is not as white and democratic as western media wants you to see it. All of us have problems, journalists just make them 100 times worse.

And the way the other africans in the room stared him down as if to say "Not now, we agree but you're going to get us shot."

If say, everyone that enjoyed Vice payed $10-20 a month, they could focus on just this material. But because no wants to pay, they have to make tons of clickbaity content that someone like you probably call woke. The clicks then let Vice charge advertisers the money they need to produce pieces like this. They still out stuff like this, never stopped. Just keep in mind that your unwillingness to pay along with most other ppl is why Vice needs to make way more trash than treasure in order to still try to stay afloat.

By calling themselves PMC’s, if they mess up Russia is not held accountable because they are not part of the Russian military. They do 100% of Putin’s bidding. They are basically another arm of the Russian government that can project plausible deniability. But I must disagree that they are somehow similar to the French Foreign Legion. The Legion is under direct command of the French military. Their existence is acknowledged. Their missions are insanely dangerous but at the end of the day they are a soldier in the French military. Wagner is not considered to be part of the Russian military.

Title says "Inside Wagner..." but we never get to see that.
But we get to hear (not see) some voices talking about how Wagner did this and that.
    Impeccable journalism.

What are you talking about? They literally embedded for a time with the "Russian Instructors" (Wagner) in CAR. You can see they were speaking with head of operations there and the deception/misdirection they were using to hide the crimes they had allegedly committed. Obviously there was anonymity with some of the people speaking out as they rightfully feared for their wellbeing had their claims been attributed to their names.
Regardless, you also saw the lawyer who spoke out directly to the leader's face, and he was quick to take back his words after some further questioning.

@@jamiemonroe4144 Still it's outside Wagner. Journalist only gets to talk to the representative guy, not the actual fighters and conditions they live in.
Asking a shady security company member have they committed any war crimes
      - No we totally didn't. In fact we were never there. We're not even here right now.
      As I said, impeccable journalism.
