We started with a small Weber travel grill but switched to a small gas grill after one year to use outdoors. Also we purchased an induction cooktop because that’s what we used at home.

We love our induction cooktop. Took out the gas oven and put in an electric air fryer oven combo unit. Also turned our island into a peninsula and added an 18” dishwasher and extended the counter top adding about 8 square feet of counter top.

We had 500 cheap business cards made up, to hand out to new friends we make on the road. Our names, facebook page, home base town and state, cell number. Items we will add to new cards: Retired and what our past occupations where.

I did some trucking before we started RVing so when we began to RV, we went bigger and bigger and BIGGER, until I finally decided small is definitely the way to go. Whenever I'm camping I'm outside most of the time anyway so I just wanted a cool place to sleep so I went as small as I could comfortably go. Love the simplicity. Not impressed with the Big units at all.

Extra fridge. We have a little fridge (collage size) on a cabinet in the bedroom. We use it for drinks and water, it also used for my medication that has to be kept cold. We move it outside or in my husband truck and runs it off solar power if we are off roading.

I use my electric skillet when I’m hooked up. My hubby made a board and I can set it on my little plastic table without worry of melting the table. (Learned that by experience!)

I'm a bit surprised that "Everyone" seems to flock all the way to Florida for winter months. I live in South Carolina and with the exception of a few days out of the year, we are above 60 degrees and sometimes into the high 70's in December, January, February. Yet most of our state parks are seemingly empty.

Good to hear you say that. I am setting up a Forest River Cottage Creek 40CFK2 destination trailer next to my son's home (on 19 acres) near Walterboro where I plan to spend my golden years (I'm almost 80) and will start by spending the winter there this year.
When the 4 kids were young we traveled with them all over the place and even in the winter at Yosemite in a 14' travel trailer. RVing has sure come a long way since then, hasn't it?

We have been full timing for 3 years and recently discovered Army Corps of Engineers campground (In fact as we watch this video we are at one on the border of Georgia and Florida) Now having the Senior America pass we’re paying 12 dollars a night for water and electricity even if you don’t have one it’s 24 a night A great deal ether way

In hot climates, always check level 1st while still attached, then plug in powe, the turn on a/c. then I can do all the rest of the stull but cooling down the is priority 1 she says sitting in a air condition van! :) Last year the gulf coast was 100 plus.

Great video! I love the hot plate idea too! We have been on the road almost a year now. Originally we’d hook up our sewer and water every time we stopped. Since we have 100gal of fresh water and 50gal each of grey and black we don’t need to dump tanks after every stop. A lot less work and more time enjoying.

Induction cook tops are a must have item. Except when it's cold outside then the stove is your friend. When it's hot outside I use it outside to give the ac a break.

We are FTers and use Reflectix in our windshield whenever we stop. It makes a huge difference! However, I caution about using Reflectix inside of dual pane windows, as it can cause the rubber gasket that separates the panes to overheat and come loose, in some cases allowing moisture to get inside and fog the window rendering them practically unusable. Last year we had to have our driver's side, passenger's side and one slide window repaired in Quartzsite. This cost us $450 and we have other windows needing repair as well - but these were the most critical ones that needed fixing the most. A good reflective tint film applied to the outside is best for dual pane windows. Reflectix also makes a good tire shield, making your expensive RV tires last longer when sitting for long periods in the hot sun. Bungie cords Xed behind the wheels work well to keep the wind from blowing them away.
On another subject, water from a large dehumidifier can be used to help flush your toilets if boondocking or dry camping to stretch your onboard water supply. Also we boondock most of the time. This means electric cooking is out for us. Besides I'm a retired chef. Once you are used to the BTUs of heat a gas stove provides you won't want to go back to electric. This is especially true for things like round bottomed woks that need a gas ring and lots of heat for a brief time to properly cook your food. Oh yeah, and if you boondock a lot like we do, you really need solar and lithium batteries in addition to a reliable generator for back-up.

I use a single burner hot plate as well. I had the microwave taken out and a convection/microwave installed. I like to bake a little bit and even though I had no issues with the propane oven I just hated using the propane so now we hardly use any propane.
We longer at places again to get the discounted weekly or monthly rate.

Senior America pass and an induction plate, instead of propane. We store it in the desk chair in our 33 Classic Airstream on travel days. The previous UA-cam owners of our rig had thought of most everything & our only additions have been SnapPads & the induction burner. This was a great video to remind us to SLOW DOWN ~ Wanda & Vinnie (lastly we only hook up our Stinky Slinky "as needed", so most trips we're only touching it once)

I also only use electric when cooking, I have a hotplate and a Ninja Foodi which I use religiously. Also, when the cold snap hit Florida over Christmas, I turned on my space heater. It kept it warm in here, and I didn't waste propane.
Also, I took out my outdoor kitchen in my bunkhouse and turned that space into a laundry room and an office. MUCH better use of that space for me. I still have the 2 beds on the other slide too.

As a five year rv traveler two of the things that I have used for most of that five years that are on your list are, the dehumidifier, I’m on my second one, and the electric induction cooktop, also the second. And have wanted to use the reflecticx and you’re getting me to think more about doing it.

I tend to stay in the same place for 2-5 months at a time. In two years full timing, I have never paid more than $200 a month for a place to stay. It all comes down to negotiating space rent on private property. Often, it's with somebody who needs a little extra money or has space that isn't getting used anyway so it's purely upside for them to rent it out. I get access to water and (usually only) 15A electricity. I have to pull out about every 2-3 weeks to dump water tanks, but the inconvenience is worth it.

I found a 30 Amp RV power box/panel at a local merchandise liquidator. It had the 30 Amp RV receptacle and a 20 Amp standard receptacle, along with the matching 30 & 20 Amp circuit breakers. Note: this panel was designed to be wired to a 240 Volt split phase breaker, with each 120 Volt receptacle being powered by its own leg of the split phase power. I cut the female end off a 50 Amp 240V split phase RV extension cord that I had, and wired it to the 30 Amp power box. Our RV is only 30 Amps, so this device works great when parked at a 50 Amp site. One leg of the 50 Amp receptacle powers our RV, the other leg powers the 20 Amp receptacle. Of course, the built in 30 and 20 Amp circuit breakers provide proper protection for their respective receptacles. That 20 Amp receptacle is handy for powering up the "outdoor kitchen" we like to set up at camp.

I have a propane stove and oven but have never used them. I got a Power XL (like a Ninja Foodie, but cost about $100) which can air fry, roast, bake, slow cook etc. I also got a single burner induction plate which heats up very quickly and has different settings, depending on whether you are frying or boiling. Easy to operate and is lightweight, fitting in the small drawer under my refrigerator along with the fry pan I got for it. The induction stove was under $60 and the fry pan was under $30. I do have a microwave/convection over, but only use it for reheating stuff. I am a solo traveler, so obviously, I don't need as much of anything as a family of 4-6, but storage is always a bit of an issue in my Class C.

Umm, not sure why Arizona is not kid friendly?
There all kinds of places for kids to go, and do here in the Phoenix surroundings!
Several water parks, museums for children, Legos, marionette theater, Phoenix zoo, and much more!!
We only know cause my wife and I thought we were going to see the west, but ran out of money, and kinda got stuck here, & now our tires are over 7 yrs old, & that's all I have to say for most people reading this to know until miracle money comes in we aren't going anywhere soon!
We are still Florida residents, so I haven't really wanted to get a full time job locally, (I don't want to be declared an Arizona resident!) but we have done pictures of Santa, and Bunny at the local mall for the new toilet,
A/C, 4-6v 1-12v batteries, insurances, 3rd party mailing, gas for toad, and food, and an occasional fun activity, so hopefully we are blessed with summer work to get those tires, & solar panels, & inverter, & goodness knows what else to get back on the road!!
Fortunately the workamping job we have, is ongoing till we leave, or they ask us to leave, so that has been a huge blessing!!
Anyway, those with kids don't be afraid to check out what they have out here, and come say hi!😉
As far as hot plates we've never used our stove for 7 years, but found out, after using a hotplate for a couple of years, that an invection plate, with Dean & White nonstick skillets are awesome, heats faster and hotplates always felt like we could burn the house down if something fell on it, and we've used a crockpot for awhile now too, but this week someone left an almost new Ninja 3 in 1 cooker pot, and it cleans better that the crockpot, so that ol thing may go into storage for a bit!
We hear other RVers love Instapots, but we aren't in the $, so we've just been blessed with Christmas $ buying the under $20 crock, and now unbelievably a free Ninja cooker pot, which leads to another cool thing in RV life, if you pay attention, and are patient, how many things you need are often besides dumpsters, or in park clubhouses!!
If you need to get rid of stuff that too is an option for you unless they have signs up not to leave stuff, but if not help your fellow roadies!!🤗

I really like the suggestion of using the campground utilities instead of costly propane. I struggle, though with finding a storage spot for the extra things required to do that. My little travel trailer has so little storage. I’ve culled everything I don’t use, already. Hmmm. Where can I store a hotplate? I’ve heard people say that reflectix is so ugly from the outside, but it really does help a lot. The only issue Ive found is that behind the Reflectix and the wall or window pane, there’s still condensation. What am I doing wrong? I sure don’t like pulling the Reflectix in and out of cabinets and windows constantly to dry things.
