Now that y’all are all Hollywood’d up, just need fingernails and a Prevost. I hope y’all are having a super great weekend. Y’all are the best…
IONVAC stick vacuum. Best stick vacuum I have ever owned. $25 from Walmart. Not rechargeable but super suction and super easy to clean. Built well and very sturdy.
My dad was a truckdriver and (and became full timer RVer after retirement). I learned very early on to have several pairs of gloves. One for the sewer, one for fuel, one for picking up hot grill grates and others stashed everywhere. Tool boxes, glove compartments, door pockets, etc. The other big thing is use petroleum jelly. He carried a jar in tool boxes, the camper, inside his truck and his trucker ditty bag. Saw that come out once as a kid and grease the hitch. Hmmm learned W-D 40 was pretty invaluable camping, too. Miss him and all he taught me about camping.
I love these kinds of videos. I enjoy seeing what works for other rvers. Especially folks like y’all that are seasoned travelers. Thank you for the video.
I'd add to your list a very stiff broom for sweeping camp mats and a good leaf rake. When the northern campgrounds open for the season, some sites are still covered with the previous Fall's leaves.
Such a great video. You gave great commentary, but kept it moving so we could see all of your must haves. I am with you on a lot of these products. I feel so validated!! AND I look forward to trying some of the items I haven’t used/heard of before! Thanks so much!
Love your list of needs and the most practical version of each item. I also like a portable clothesline. I love the fold up kind or even just a line from two tie up points! Especially for bathing suits. I understand it looks tacky outside, but I still like to hang up outside!
So many great items. Not just for RV or camping. Many can be used for small areas as well. I have the Shark Vertex Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with DuoClean PowerFins and I love it. The "stick" bends so you can easily vacuum under furniture without having to move the furniture or get down on your hands and knees to get under it. It also folds to make it smaller for storage. I find it works well and I've loved mine.
wow normally i am like a week late but i was stocking you and this has all be sooo amazingly helpful to prep for our move from 6 bedroom home to RV full time in 1 year!
The insulation square in the roof to keep the cold or hot hair from coming in your roof vents. I sewed handles material handles on them, so they were easy to pull down.
Yeah, I use Kobalt with 24v batteries. Drill, impact driver, flashlights, fans, oscillating tool, sawsall, saw, pressure washer, leaf blower, angle grinder, angle ratchet wrench, weed eater and chainsaw. I also have a usb adapter for the batteries which provide 2 standard type A usb connections. There are more tools available, but not a vacuum yet. Having a full range of tools that use the same battery is very nice!
I am five feet tall and love this ladder. I have also pinched myself when collapsing it. So I agree, follow the instructions so you don't hurt yourself with the ladder.
Concerning the Camco vent insulation pillows. The reflectex on the exterior facing side eventually dissentigates from the sun exposer. I had to throw the covers away and use just the foam rubber to insulate my vents. Two years later I'm still finding little flecks of foil everywhere!
Love Nano tape. I use it in my art studio to hang all sorts of things. And I have one of those small air compressors that I added a pressure control valve to so I can use it with my airbrush, plus I recently used it to air up my giant ball that I need for physical therapy. Great for bicycle tires too.
Fabulous list. I was surprised that we have so many of these especially since we are in a class B where space is extremely limited. One thing we've done different than most is the bucket. We're using a rectangular window bucket with a lid for storing items then using for a bucket or even doing off grid laundry if needed at times. It just happens to fit really well for us. We also keep a small gas can, emergency strobes and three mini orange cones from the dollar store which can also aid in reserving our spot if we have to run into town. I've already got a collapsible water hose and hadn't even thought about taking it but I love your idea.
Will definitely get som that you have and we do have a rechargeable stick vac and small wall mountable boxes for extras. We added lean to our screen door so the cold air stays in and we can see out when at a campsite.
Great info enjoyed your video. Purchased five items. Three were already on my list. Also made a top entry litter box. Should save on a lot of litter mess. Keep up the great info. Looking forward to more videos.
We love you guys’s videos! So informative and helpful for us relative newbies. We also like to play the “Actually” game while watching your vids. Sometimes, we get pretty pounded every time we have to do a shot when she says “actually“ 😂 Keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot, you have just cost me at least a couple hundred dollars! But the items I will purchase with that money will make our camping adventures much easier and safer. Great job on the video, I always enjoy the bloopers.
I think that you covered many of these items in other videos but it was nice to have them once again mentioned and quickly explained. What I forgot was the fuses so I'll put those on my Amazon order before I forget again. However, I looked in the list but didn't find it.
This is the vacuum we have and I love it! I bought it at WalMart. Tineco PURE ONE X Tango Smart Cordless Lightweight Stick Vacuum Cleaner with 2 Full Size Brush Heads for Hard Floors and Carpet
From amazon, I picked up two Save-A-Drop water flow meters; a white and blue one for my fresh water needs...like when filling my fresh tank and wanting to know exactly how many gallons have gone in, and a black and green one for use with my black hose when I dump my black tank, fill it back up and dump a few times then lastly adding back in about a gallon for the chems to slush around in when finished. They read in tenths of a gallon. They also give you a great understanding of how many gallons per minute your source can provide. most places that we have stayed at works out to 4 gallons a minute (I use a splitter where the fresh hose is metered and the black is full bore, whatever that may be). Knowing this, you can go by your watch even and walk away for a given amount of time.. Kind of handy.
Amazon also has compostable flatware. Knives, forks, teaspoons made from wood, bamboo, or bioplastics. Supposedly all compostable, so no plastic pollution. The knives and forks are somewhat gentle, the teaspoons rather flat, but if you'd rather not make plastic piles, try them.
Love most of these ideas and have many of them. Although many of them don’t apply because I’m not full time and our rig is much smaller. But one item I highly recommend for anyone with a rubber roof is eternabond tape. An absolute must if you get a puncture or leak. Also recommend moving the pressure regulator to the top of the Y. I have my black water flush hose attached to the other side of the Y and want to regulate that side too.
I think I got to 10, that we weren’t using . So 90 in some form with the nano tape, collapsible bowls, micro air, water hose, sink thingy grate being specifically from your recommendations in your other videos. One thing on the Nano tape. Be aware of where you store it because even the sides will leach and stick to what you set it on :) safe travels!
Check out the stick vacuum options from Shark. I have a Shark Pro and after enjoying the Pro, I would definitely look for a stick vac from Shark! (they have several!)
of yeah...a valterra flush king too!! when all of my tanks are all emptied and i am done with that business, I hook my black hose up to the port and open the valve for a few minutes, essentially flushing clean water through the slinky. As it is doing this I jostle the slinky around a bit from the camper side down to the sewer end, washing out almost all of the icky fluids that may have stowed away in the ridges of the slinky.

I find the basic sewer hose sidewinder as shown there completely useless over grass, but that's only in a few places. It completely falls over even when set up without too much space between the joints. Really frustrating. I end up doing what I do without it which is manually moving the hose to get the liquid to its destination...down. The dog bowl you show is absolutely amazing.
Great video and informative! I don’t remember which one, but in another video of yours, you showed some exterior ports for solar panels. I believe they were for MP4 connections. What was your source for that?
It would take another $10 to fill this 'must have' list..But thank you for testing all the other must have's that didn't make the list. As always, your videos are a 'must watch'..to learn from.
Great list and we do have a lot of them. We bought a cheap multimeter, which broke pretty quickly. We found the replacement model we got, happens to have a thermometer on it. Great to find a dual use for something. We bought one of those jump starter gadgets and discovered it didn’t work when we tried to help another traveller. The company replaced it with a newer and seemingly much better looking model. We still aren’t sure if it works though. Hubby thought it might wake our batteries from sleep mode today, but he ended up using an unregulated solar blanket, which worked right away. I guess we are learning all the time.
My family is about to enter the RV life. I'm finding your videos to be VERY helpful. Thank you very much! I'm having trouble finding the link for the Unique toilet products. Do you mind repositing it for me? Thanks so much! P.S. We're doing this with a 3yo, 5yo, and 2yo Great Pyrenees puppy. 😀
Those cameras easy to use and install? Any wiring? This was an informative video. Back in our old camping days, we had to too much stuff. You don’t do wood fires? Does that air blower machine rechargeable? That thermometer take human temperatures?🤣 We always laid the sewer hoses on the ground. Yes, a few things I never heard of. One thing you didn’t mention but we had when we went that had in our SUV were some shop rags and and a pop up box of shop paper towels. Plus when we had electric, the yard blower came along. They include a full function lcd display, battery comms, a built in breaker and 2 fire supressors. They run about $1400 each. 4 Battleborns (same watt hour) will cost $3000, weigh 124 pounds and not include lcd display, breaker, or fire suppression. You will also need more cables. I'm guessing you could fit 3 EG4 batteries in the same location as your battleborn batteries. That's over 15kwh of storage and cost $4200, while the same amount of storage would cost $9000 with battleborn while taking up more space, weighing 72 pounds more (24%), require more cabling, breakers, and complexity. Imagine utilizing an lcd screen on each battery to see SOC, volts, amps and cell voltages (plus battery comms means your solar system gets that info in real time and BMS limits). Imagine being able to sleep better knowing that your batteries include fire supression. Imagine being able to quickly isolate a battery because of the built-in breaker and power button. Yes, we use compostable disposable cutlery and plates currently.

Those jump start machines are life savers.

While Battleborn batteries used to be considered top notch, they are now behind and expensive.
They sell a 12v 100ah battery "on sale" for $750. They weigh 31 pounds each.
Compare, as an example EG4 server rack style batteries. Your choice 12v 400ah, 24v 200ah, 48v 100ah (3 different models). They are about 20x22x6 inches and weigh 100 pounds.
Imagine having batteries that support RSD (rapid shutdown).
RSD is an emergency switch (usually a big red button) that can remotely shutdown all equipment that supports the protocal. I'm not sure Victron does, but EG4 does. What about a first aid kit ? What would you put in a first aid kit ?
Have been camping for over 50 years and have many of the items you suggest. But I did find some new items to try. Love the dog water bowl! I travel in a 25 ft Airstream Interstate ( me and my pup), so some things might be a Kyle too large but others are right on. Thanks for sharing!
