Absolutely love the rug storage basket hack and towel rack. Thanks so much for sharing! I used 2 different Ikea rugs (sortso and klejs) to make the baskets. A little bit higher in price ($5.99 & $2.99) but also look nice if not in a cabinet. I also added magnet closures to a few. My towel rack is hung using removable wall hooks from Dollar Tree.

It's tough to even make it half way through your videos because of the EXCESSIVE ADS. I understand that ads supplement your videos, but do you realize this video has 28 ads?
I really understand how important it is to your revenue to watch the entire video, but your content isn't valuable enough to to waste my time through 28 ads in 39 minutes and 52 seconds. 😞

We keep a small dry erase board inside a cupboard. We put the campground address and our campsite number on it so we can call in case of fire.

We always put cute socks on our cups/bottles to help prevent noise during travel (instead of towels?) and to help absorb condensation while using - which also prevents water rings on tables from non-insulated cold drink cups. Sock sizes vary to fit container size and a variety of color/pattern choices makes them fun and easy to know who it belongs to. 🧦

Just a quick tip for you..Dollar Tree has these rubber finger protectors that you can use when you hot glue. I am famous for burning myself. When I do, I just put some Revive Lavender essential oil on it, and it usually doesn't even blister. Keep the rubber finger protectors with the glue gun, and you are set. Love your videos.

    • @tennesseeterri
      @tennesseeterri 9 місяців тому

When I use the hot glue gun I always keep a glass of ice water next to me so if I get any hot glue on me I can plunge my finger into it to stop the burning. also if you are camping or something, you can melt the hot glue stick over a fire if you don't have the glue gun or any electricity. Keep some in your emergency supplies, they never go bad.

My elderly mother did that. It can also be cut to size to use under a plate/bowl on a tray for meals in bed. In my RV, which is tiny by comparison, I use it on the counter, in drawers and on open shelves, as well as for protecting breakables, between plates, and to stop pots and pans/lids from rattling. Great stuff with many uses!

When you are at the Dr. and have to have your blood work done they put a band around your arm. They just throw them away . Ask them for it. You can use them to open your jars and anything you have trouble gripping. You can also use them to tie tomatoes stems. They can also be used for slingshot.

I like your ideas! I have a few comments about them, just to put in my two cents worth:
    • I like the towel rack idea. I will definitely be considering it. However, my towels appear to be considerably larger than the towels you showed in your cabinet. Maybe. I won't know until I try, and because the components are from the dollar store, it can't hurt to give it a shot.
    • My wife stores her earrings differently. I have always admired her setup. She has a strip of cloth fixed to the back of a cabinet door. She pierces the cloth with the earring post and secures with the normal back. None of them have ever fallen down or got lost since she started doing that. It's a little simpler than your hack and it doesn't have to be stowed. In addition, being in a cabinet that my granddaughter can't reach means she isn't tempted to play with them (she's two and a half so that's a real problem).
    • Your hack regarding the cords for your air fryer etc. is great, but my wife and I have been doing something even easier and cheaper for many years. All the electrical devices on our kitchen counter top have short cords, but they're long enough to get in the way. We have been stuffing the cords into empty toilet paper rolls since I can remember. They are cardboard, so they don't last for a really long time, but when they wear out, they are essentially free to replace.
I• can see that non-slip shelf would also be great for preventing damage to the counter top even in normal use. Most counter top appliances (coffee maker, toaster, microwave, etc.) have rubber feet, but I have noticed that if an appliance stays in one place for a long time, the rubber feet create a dull spot from the rubbing. In some cases, I have been unable to eliminate that dull spot. It's not very noticeable, but once you see it, you can't unsee it, if you know what I mean.

For cords I have a piece of tubing (I think it's similar to pex for water lines) and I cut it into 1" sections and then slice it open down one side so I can loop the cord and it holds the loops in place. When I need the cord length out, I just release one loop at a time for whatever length is needed. That's for phone and other small cords though. For appliance and other thick cords, a piece of pvc pipe would not need to be replaced as often as the toilet paper roll which also BTW, contains bathroom bacteria that we probably don't need to be transferring into our kitchen areas unnecessarily.

Thanks for all the advice, I do have one suggestion for the towel racks in the cabinet. I've been in the electrical trade since the 80's, and was taught to use lineman's pliers to twist the end of the tie wraps off, this will eliminate the sharp edges of them when they are cut off.

The RV Toilet Tricks made me and my husband laugh. My husband is a self employed electrical contractor and I used to work in the office with him and 2 or 3 other men. That lesson you showed had obviously never been taught in their homes. I once put a $5 bill around the springy TP holder part and waited for someone to find it. It took about a month.

I was a full-time RVer briefly but sadly had to give up the lifestyle. I found that small adjustable curtain rods are great for keeping corning ware and other glassware in place during travel days. Just use the curtain rods to section off areas of glassware and the pans stay secure in the cupboards. Thanks for the great tips! I really miss RVing!

These are amazing! 2 things you may want to try. When storing your seasonal clothes, hats, etc, you can put a dryer sheet in each one so they don't get smelly. Also, in that same thread, you can put one of those little desiccant packs to soak up moisture (like in your cabinets with your towels, shoes or your clothes) to keep things from getting moldy. I usually just save mine whenever I get them in shipping boxes... but you can order them for less than $10 for 100 of them!

The product that is inside of those little bags is called silica. The silica packets are found in so many things. As well as available for purchase as 'sneaker gym bag balls'. Inside bottles of OTC herbal medicines and supplements. Beef jerky. Purses. Some high end articles of clothing. Wallets (long time ago in shoe boxes) now they use a silica sticker . I use those small ones (that say 'do not eat') inside of my dried goods containers * do not open or eat them* , also forget using rice when you get electronics wet, some gym bag balls' wrapped w tape inside of Ziploc bag+36hrs. Takes a smart watch that was an aquarium turned quickly into a dessert. And no rice residue in your equipment. Woohoo. Silica is amazing.

My all time favorite hack for the bathroom is I don't have guest towels (which leads to guests guessing which large hanging towel they should use and wondering how many other people touched that towel since it was last washed) instead of a community towel, i have a basket of neatly folded wash rags next to the sink and a hamper. The wash rags are great both wet or dry and ALWAYS fresh. Bonus, the more washrags that are used, the more often I can fill a wash machine load of towels, wash rags, and cotton napkins. If you have limited space in the rv, color code washrags for each family member and a set designated for guests. Everyone has different preferences about weather they use one personal washrag all day as a towel, or if they want a fresh washrag every time they ise the rest room. Hold a family meeting to talk about their hand washing/drying preferences to determine how many wash rags are needed by each family member. in the rv. Have a net laundry bag handy to catch the used wash rags and wash they separately in hot water with laundry booster. Guests will need a fresh washrag every time anyone uses the restroom.

I grew up in small spaces, once being two adults and four kids in a 16 ft travel trailer. I find myself traveling a lot and am transitioning into a small pickup truck with a topper for those overnight travel days. I appreciate each one of these hacks. Thankyou. Please keep them coming

We don't have room over the sink for the roll out drying rack while using the sink in our island. However, if you put the silicon/roll up drying rack on top of a kitchen drying mat or small towel on the counter top. The mat will absorb the water drips and the rack will allow airflow to get to the underside of things and everything will dry. Then roll it up and hang the mat on the oven handle or preferred place and recover your counter space.

I wanted an outdoor drying rack for towels, shoes, etc., so I got a refrigerator rack from the dump. I use shoelaces to tie the back to the ladder and tie longer laces from the front to a rung above. I put macrame beads on the front edges to protect children's eyes. It works well and stores flat.
To keep heat out and prevent sun rot, I push Dollar Tree windshield screens under window blinds on the sunny side.
I bought a Dollar Tree broom handle, broom head, dustpan, dustmop head and dust mop. They take very little space.
I cut the top off a juice bottle and use it to store the toilet brush. I keep a glass vase filled with glass pebbles in the bathroom. I put a solar light in it for a nightlight. I put them in a cupboard for travel.

I like a table cloth on my dinette table. A friend made us a beautiful wood table I want to protect… so, I have a table liner and a pretty table cloth on top…. I take the bed sheet garters (like you showed) and they go from side to side keeping the table cloth in place 💁🏻‍♀️
    2) we use the moisture absorber under the dinette seats… I got plastic cheap 4 cup measure cups. Then got loop style 3m command hooks, the handle of the measurement cups are then keep in place. I put the eliminator into the cups.

I haven't finished watching but i have already seen two great ideas that stand out for me. the basket under the table or the cords and the baby sheet clips. I wanted to add that we cover our couch it is very slick and the blankets do not stay in place but I'm thinking that the sheet clips just might do the trick.
I will have to put the shelf liner to the test. I've had a toaster fall off the counter. it would be nice to not repeat that type of disaster.
I'm going to mention the thermostat to my hubby, It looks simple enough that he might be on board with it.
OMG! the nano tape is an amazing idea! I've never heard of it. I'm very intrigued by the you can wash and reuse comment.

Hi Charity, I really loved the DIY earring holder...and made simple upgrades. I used the larger 8x10 inch acrylic photo frame. Then, I hot glued on a piece of black felt (+$1.25) so there is some contrast and reduced noise. I chose the large bright colored hairbands, and then hot glued Command Strips hooks upside down along the upper back side for my necklaces to drape down the front. It can also accommodate bracelets, too. It fits nicely into a drawer for travel days. I'm going to pass along your project idea to my grandson's Sunday School teacher for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day...Stickers, Colored paper for background, etc. Lots of ways to customized it! A suggestion for the surge protector. Generally you have a post that you plug into. We always have a heavy chain that goes through the protector around the post and then you lock it with a very good lock. As she said they are expensive. Ours was $279 that we did not want to come back to camp and see gone. When we bought our camper this was highly recommended and this is what we tell new campers that we meet.
