Mad props to you man, enjoying this series. I got a 2021 and I just don't understand how this guy ruined a 40k truck in 3 years. Insane.
Lol that’s a 60 k Canadian truck
RIGHT!
It’s easy when you trash them and don’t take care of it.
The better question is how does someone who treats a vehicle that away manage to pay it off in 3 years. I would have thought the bank wouldve owned it lol.
Pretty incredible. Mine is 4 years old and I still treat it like I just got it off the lot. Amazing trucks
I'm on my third Yota build and am addicted to your channel. You are killing it man. Incredible work. I love seeing guys DIY builds instead of paying crazy shop prices. You will be forever attached to this truck after putting this much blood and sweat into the build. Keep it up!!
Hey thanks!!
I can't wait for more content on this truck!
I'd keep that tool incase another wheel bearing goes out on you....if one already went bad, another may not be far behind, lol
Plus you have it to rent out!
You've done a truly fantastic job restoring the mechanicals on this truck! No way not to be impressed! My vote, however, is for leaving the body damage as is -- scratches and dents and all -- so everyone can see what was done to it, before, and then be wowed by how you've fixed it up. Trail damage is "beauty marks" -- proves what it's been through. And you don't have to worry about where you take it offroad. It's the mechanicals that count -- and you've done a super job with them. Kudos!
Looking good! I'd definitely keep that bearing puller tool, I'm sure the other wheel bearing will be going bad sometime in the near future.
literally found this channel today on the 1st episode, and caught up to the 4th literally release today; super entertaining to watch!
mike is like West Coast Tommy from TFL [ car, truck, ranch, or whatever they add next]
cant wait for the next video!!
Just got recommended this video and love watching people build cool trucks, keep at it! Toyota has had engineers firmly state that they continue drum brakes in the rear because they provide adequate stopping force, also less costly to manufacture I believe.
This series has been real fun to watch! I’m still a newbie when it comes to my own 4Runner so it’s cool seeing how you tackle all these issues that come up 👍🏻
While this LEGEND built a truck I bought a lift kit and some over lays….you are the man! 😎
Thank you man! Good luck with the lift
as a viewer of all your previous work, anytime there is a reference to the 'previous owner + somehow managed' ...once those words are said it is impossible to be surprised at this point. previous owner, the destroyer of worlds.
She's coming along
Man, this truck has come a long way!
I'm having so much fun watching this journey!!
Keep it up, loving the content brotherrr
Damn im addicted to this series man!! Just something about replacing the old with some new stuff. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did the same job on my 83! still scratch my head that they still use drums in the rear! Killer build man!
Congrats on getting her running so smooth! I am amazed at how much better it looks. Clazzios are on my list. Shocked at how well that door panel popped back. Lots of awesome content. Looking forward to more! You will be amazed how fast that catch can fills up. Cheers from the left coast.
Thank you! They really do fit and feel great 👍🏻
Been waiting for the next drop! Love this channel
Bro 🙌🏻
Terrific Restoration! Three things I know for sure now that I'll never mod on my 3rd gen...
1. Wheel Spacers
2. Superchargers
3. Giant Wheels
4. Super Lifts
But I understand this is a 'Pupose' truck made for wheelin boulders and shit...ain't tryin to do that with my truck...just want get to work and back, do a bit of diy around the house, and make memories vacationing and campin with the fam...Nice job sir!
I did the SAME thing with the Doorman heated seat pads. Threw them on, then put Clazzios on. Works fine
Drum brakes are more amenable to use as a parking/emergency brake, so that's a good reason to use them back there. Drums are cheaper, and they're good enough to be more than adequate. If you use rear disks, you have to make a drum brake inside the disc rotor for the parking brake.
Man this truck looks great from the before and after look! U been working ur ass off on it !The seats look really good too! Ur doing a great 👍 job! Keep up the good work! Will most def be watching as the truck coming along!!
its came a long way !! congrats , i'll look forward to more content
The cool part is having all the homies helping out, that’s memories that will live forever
Really appreciate the good videos and especially the dyno time.
very inspired. really appreciate you sharing this journey from beginning till now so detailed yet simple. u make it look like an art
Hell yeah. Door looking good. Time for an alignment.
I really like this series. Your editing is a perfect pace. The videos are short enough to be easily watchable and you actually make a lot of progress each time. Keep it up.
love the way you work, building tools as you go !
Man you make everything look easy. You are super talented! Are you a mechanic by career?
Agreed.
I think he might have done something like that in the coast guard, not entirely sure though
Great bro! Keep them coming... Maybe buy another car to rebuild.
I'm prior military, adapt and overcome! I tell my boys and the guys that work for me" can't never could do anything" you're a can do guy, that's why I subscribed! I do have a Tacoma, rugged Tuff trucks.
Pumped when a new episode comes out. Keep this going. Would love to see this truck make a full come back.
I had the TPMS sensor on for months. Bought 4 cheap ones from Rock Auto and worked. Way better for what Toyota wants for OME
When he said he was gonna make his own tools.. I was where I was meant to be. Havent stopped grinning since i stumbled onto this series. Props bud
Thank you!!!
Awesome video brotha ! I’m loving this series and I can’t wait !
Dorman is my favorite company when it comes to quite literally OEM parts! I got a Ford Raptor SVT Third brake light for half the price and it looked 99.9% like factory! and the quality was so good! Anyways Awesome Video! I cant wait to see more on this tacoma!
I’ve had very good luck with them also 👍🏻 thanks!
NICEEEE KEEP IT UP. Continue making content
Lmfao bro be careful with those hard hat heaters! I love them too but god damn many many many people burn their houses and shops down with them. People close them up and assume they are out when they arent. Loved this build buddy good work!
Love your videos man, they are a perfect mix of ingenuity, explanation and lifestyle. I'm really glad to see this taco comes back to life and I'm always excited when I see a new video uploaded. Keep up the good work!
beer is good too
Dude has drank every different kind of beer in this series, any beer will do lol
Wow so glad I found this series!! I’m in the middle of redoing my own project truck and couldn’t be happier watching you doing yours as well. Mad props to you sorting this once neglected beaut and making it a hero!
Hey thanks!
Dude its like you came from the future and already know how to fix everything, its crazy how smart and your improv skills are. Hats off to you dude, your insanely smart idek how you know all this stuff. Id never guess it was the wheel bearing. I thought it was the tune needing some tweaks
I’m just figuring it out as I go!
Made respect for the Hyundai N shirt. I love Korean cars lol also love the work you guys put into this truck. Keep it up maaaaaaane
Korean cars are junk
You are awesome and a great job on the Tacoma. You’ve restored my faith in your generation.
Amazing work. Can’t believe you did all that from your home garage too ! The transformation from ep 1 is WILD
Mike,,just watched the other videos prior to this one,,,they really RECAP and show just how Talented you are!! From a fellow Tacoma guy,,,mine was new in 2017,,I can truly appreciate your mechanical abilities, your understanding of automobiles,,the cool, laid back attitude of your approach,,and the Homemade bearing Tool was definitely thinking outside the box!!
You really should have your own shop! Love the video and truck..
Thanks for the kind words, and thank you for watching!!
Dude... all your hard work is paying off
Great Job! Persistent
I have loved watching these videos man! I really want to watch another rebuild :D
The amount of change that has come to this truck is incredible. Seeing the new vid sitting here at work, I just couldn't wait to watch it when I got home. Can't wait for more content. Awesome job on the truck!!
Hey keep up the great work! As a fellow Tacoma owner I’m loving the series. I just really wanna know what the hell the previous owner did to the truck to put it in such a condition?
This is so impressive! The truck looks so good compared to where it came from. Great channel, I get excited for each video that comes out!
I am impressed and jealous at the amount of knowledge/skill you have.
Great fuckin video and great work.
What a long break through, truck came out awesome!
Absolutely!
You make actual authentic videos, actually entertaining to watch and it’s educational.
Hey thanks 🙌🏻
im really enjoying drinking beer and watching you drink beer and work on the yota
Thanks man, 🍻
Cleaned up so well can’t believe that’s the same truck. All that work definitely was worth it!
Dude! The heated seats was the best touch to the truck😂😂😂. I wanna put it in my Jeep
I really look forward to your next video as I did for the last few. Watching this truck come along is addicting.
Killer rebuild man. Probably one the best channels out there. How much did you spend so far to fix your truck ? Keep up the good work man
Check it out at the end of my new video! I do a full run down
Who can't work on a vehicle without a couple wobble pops. 🤣👊
Truck sounds so good happy to see more videos
It’s impressive how far you’ve come with this truck and how much the last owner fucked it up so bad. They must’ve tried really really hard making it their life mission to break as many things on this truck as possible. Good work
the reason they use drum breaks for Tacoma is off road capability typically disk breaks get rocks and other debris stuck in them making it less reliable.
Awesome transformation!!!
Nice work in a short amount of time!! I didn’t know you were in the bay too. 👍🏻
Just found your channel I’m loving this series
Unreal, what a transformation. You all did a fantastic job. I knew when I subbed a month ago I wouldn't be disappointed.
Looking good man love watching your videos. Good luck at king of hammers! Send it.
Thank you, it will be sent
Hard to believe that is the same truck! Great job resurrecting a third gen Tacoma!
It’s coming along 🙌🏻
Man! It's moving!!!! Congrats!
The Civic truck in the back of the ending. Lol.
Mike love it! I love watching these videos then it’s like I’m spending a day with you without sitting in the cold garage 😂! Nice job!!
Super dope, been watching since the first episode of this truck!! Would be good to regear it🔥
It has 5.29s 👍🏻
the drum brake macanism look's exactly like my 1986 toyota pickup ... and i ad taken the hand brake mecanism from a 1986 that i have for spare parts and it bolt right on my 2001 tacoma haha .. pretty sure 2018 are still the same ! exept for the hand brake on yours it looks like a 90's 4runner
Toyotas idea behind the drum brakes is for off road performance in dusty or dirty conditions and it's not made to tow as much weight.
At least they last so long lol.
So I want these seats to have heater heat seated heat seaters 😂😭great series on the taco.
Awesome work. Impressive transformation, Cant wait to see the next episode.
Bro, your IQ must be off the charts. Wish I lived by you. Keep up the great work.
The reason they still run drums in the back is because 80% of your braking comes front the front and by running drums you’re less likely to get sand and debris in the braking system. I know, I wondered the same thing. I have a 2012 taco
If you keep putting out project videos like this, run up the views and subs, and pick up some sponsors and affiliate link sales, you could certainly go full time on UA-cam. The no-frills editing and casual presentation style really works.
love the series i have a 1st gen and i gained some inspiration from you in building it love the channel i hope your youtube grows beyond this year cheers
Thank you I appreciate it!
i would do a wet sand or polish on it before you wax it. I bet you could make the tiger stripes on the side look a lot better! The Dent looks way better. Great job on saving this Tacoma
That’s the plan, wet sand then a cut.
Great work👏 You really did an astonishing job. I know it’s not over, but so far this series is pretty incredible. Liked👍🏼
Get all of your tpms sensors replaced at a tire shop my tundra kept having problems with that I found out that those sensors stop working correctly great vid 👍👍
I think I bought the cheap ones and the truck doesn’t like them
@@mikes4x4garage also from what I've heard some of the vehicles have nitrogen filled tires and the sensor won't work with regular air great vid can't wait to watch on here the truck in the king of the hammers race
I'm sure I'm late but i just wanted to say, if you get new TPMS sensors in you're tires you need to rewrite the new IDs through your OBD2 port. thank god we aren't neighbors lol i love working on my taco.
I give you credit Mike you have done ALOT of work on this Tacoma to fix it up but you are
doing a great job.
Cool series. Like the humor!
Thank you!
This video was full of improvements, cant wait to see the end result. Good stuff!👍
Watched the whole build and all I can say is great fucking job man, this truck is awesome 👏🏽
That's cute truck Tundra when your ready man up
What a transformation!
I am also very happy with the Clazzios i threw on my double cab. They added some much needed additional cushioning for the stock seats.
Man this whole series felt gave off home videos type of vibe. Loved it can’t wait to see more! Definitely see you blowing up soon
Thank you!
those seat covers look AMAZING wtffff and mechanic skills are through the roof props to you bro
Thanks!!!
Who the fuck owned that truck before? You are saving it!
Maaaan, that looks nice. I applaud y'alls hard work!
Great videos. Awesome you were able to bring it back from the dead.
Hidden gem in this video is a GLS semi you passed around the 4min mark. I work for that company and know that driver lol
