Man I feel you on liking the autos more offroad. No problem just cruising on dirt roads with a stick shift, but it's soo much less work with an auto to get past the really steep and rocky stuff.
On a smaller vehicle tho like a wrangler or reg cab midsize truck, new bronco, etc I feel like a stick shift offers more control & “feel” for what’s going on underneath ya, also….if you’re in right rock crawling type off-roading manual has many advantages like ability to quickly alternate back/forth between 1st & R…which can really stress out an auto trans, being able to quickly drop into neutral is nice too. Advantage of an auto is obviously “2 foot driving” be able to stabilize the truck w/ the brake & load suspension while simultaneously giving it gas.
Thanks for sharing, very informative. Ya I had an issue c my steering rack leaking (2019 taco TRD off road) around 40K miles. Possibly because of extra strain from towing a travel trailer. Keep the videos coming Cheers
