Fun fact: I was Adam Carson's Uber driver yesterday, and ironically enough, I was listening to Leaving Song Part 2 & Love Like Winter on the way towards picking him up. We talked about Tesla (I drive a Tesla Model 3), CM Punk using Miseria Cantare in AEW, and he even gave me a pair of his drumsticks to take home. Stand up guy. I quit Uber right after; it would be quite the story to tell my kids and grandkids how I was an Uber driver at some point in my life and the very last passenger I ever served on Uber was Adam, one of my heroes from AFI. Love ya Adam, love ya Davey, love ya Jade, love ya Hunter!!!! Thank you for everything and molding me into the person I've become today!
Back Jan 2017 AFI had an album release at Amoebas in Los Angeles.. I went to the back to use the restroom and suddenly Jade opens the door to use the pisser next to me.. I hollered Oh Shit It's Jade! Dude is tall AF atleast next to me
My first AFI album was All Hallow's EP and then Sing The Sorrow saved my life through high school 03 and 04. I am (allegedly) and elder millenial, so we were all young.
Ha - About to turn 61 and just discovered this band. Better late than never... Update: This still sounds great to me, as I turn 64. Advice from an old man: Don't ever let that number define you. You can stay young inside if you keep your mind open. And, listen to your children's (and grandchildren's) music without saying 'it was better in my day.' They will appreciate it, and you may just discover something new that you absolutely love.
Have you ever given HIM (that's the band's name) a listen? You might enjoy them as well. I suggest Killing Loneliness. Or Wings of a Butterfly. Both good songs by HIM.
+idelightful Then I would highly recommend Good Charlotte's old albums. Their album "The Young and The Hopeless" really defined my taste in music. I never knew who I was until I picked up that album :)
Turned 37 recently, I still love this song as much as I did when it came out. What I would give to go back in time to 20 and relive that time again. I love my life now too, but miss the parties, friends and lack of responsibly.
I randomly discovered this song in college, while checking into a movie crossover fan video. After, I listened to it multiple times as I got ready for classes, especially when I was studying abroad in Austria, during winter...seemed perfect.
damn i remember i found AFI around 2007/2008 and i was OBSESSED with them.I knew every word to every song, knew everything about them, had about 20 AFI tshirts, saw them in concert a couple times, had their pictures plastered all over my wall..i even named my cat Davey. as i got older my tastes changed, but i still jam to these songs every now and then and reminisce.
Michelle Wineijes You're right. I meant to say their first real hit albums came out in 02. Sing the sorrow was my favorite album. The stuff from before was too...punk? Just sounded like garage band stuff. Nothing too great.
So I’m always the last person to leave the office. Right after I close the door, I look up and down the hallway to make sure it’s totally empty and I walk to the beat of this intro all the way down the hall. Full sashay. It puts a huge smile on my face no matter what sort of loathsome corporate workday I’ve had. Thank you for all of the amazing music over the years, AFI!
I was 21 and in the middle of the crappiest part of Iraq when I first heard this song and album. Helped me get through a real terrible time. When I got back to Germany after deployment, I saw them live in Wiesbaden. 😍😍 Love AFI the most.

Listened to this album in 2007. I was probably only 10 years old. My family moved across Canada over the summer. I bought this album at a Walmart with my own bottle money/allowance. I had a cd walkman my brother gave me. We moved back across the country again. But it was in the middle of winter. I'll never forget listening to this album while driving through the Rocky Mountains. I turn 25 in two months. I still listen to this album. :)
Dude this takes me back to middle school, my grandmother dying from cancer. Friends and relationships starting to change along with my own body and hormones. It was the wildest of times, and the simplest of times aside from traumatic events. I'm 26 now, my emo years behind me. I've lived and learned a lot since the last time this cycled through my playlist, and every single time it does it's such a wild ride, being able to feel all of those memories flood back like they were yesterday. This band, this style of music, the style that comes along with the "emo" label. All of it changed my life, it opened the door for friendships I never would have found without them. God bless Davey, and everyone else who helped make something so beautiful that it can offer me glimpses of a time that's long past and often forgotten. Thank you guys.
8th grade going into freshman year I started listening to this song. Every time winter comes around its always the top song on my playlist. This song just brings back so many memories. I'm in college now. Holy shit time flies.
It can suck to think about how fast time goes and how short life seems sometimes... but songs like this and moments with people you love make it worth while. I'm in college as well and I woke up slightly depressed at the aforementioned. ..
I remember coming across this song back when I was in 7th/8th grade and now I'm in my 2nd year of college. God it does bring back so much memories. Hits hard with nostalgia. I still appreciate this song
I think that has a lot to do with if anything significant or meaningful was going on exactly around the time you were heavily occupied and enjoyed listening to a particular band. AFI happened to be one of my main ones :)
I'm 30 now and I remember playing this on my ipod on repeat, while i was walking home from school on the last day before winter break at the age of 16. I miss my eyeliner and my emo boy hair. 😟😭
I used to listen to this album all the time when I was younger and now everytime I hear someone wearing heels and walking in a hallway I can help but to start singing this song
Seen AFI a bunch of times over the years. One particular time seeing them at a venue in San Francisco they were awesome and afterwards people were waiting outside to see them. Davey took his time autographing everyone's stuff in the rain. I have a poster autographed by him that's smeared because it was so wet. Such a cool dude/ great band.
Wow! You are the first uzbek I've known that is a fan of AFI.. My husband is also Uzbek but he does not know this band 😁 But still he let me play AFI songs in our car during roadtrip 😊

Rediscovered this song from my emo teen years to my mature 30s today. This masterpiece has aged like a fine wine. The chorus is glorious. I love it

Don't say that, I don't want to be old.

Don't be silly. You're as old as you let yourself be. Plus I don't think I'd want to go through being a teenager again for all the money in the world.
Yeah, time is a jerk, okay that's it, I'm stopping this whole getting older thing, 35 forever!
this is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or The Wave” by SLT 🤘🐺
"I met my love before I was born!!" And they change it from he to she on the next chorus. Just small nuances that make AFI top notch songwriters

DarthScorpio11 um the song "Miss Murder" didn't come out until 2006....so..
