Thank you for this video, watched 20 different ones, but this one gave me things how I needed them, very simple and to the point. Just got my detector yesterday, tomorrow, I will hit the beach running, thank you again
Great video. I got a new Legend and only just started using it because the manual was so daunting. I watched two videos to help with all these settings that ware available. It seems a very capable machine and finds targets that are really deeper than I want to dig in a park! A couple of days ago I gave up at 9" down, as I suspected it was junk on the left side ferro check.
Great video again, thanks. I got to grips with the Simplex a while back through your video on it, setting up the legend for the first time now and knew where to look. Really helpful 👌
As always, another great tutorial Adam. As you know I haven't got this machine but am very impressed (as always) with Nokta's build and functionality - seems to be doing really well for most detectorists! I've just joined the LP affiliate scheme so am looking forward to promoting them on the vids. Hope all is well & see you at Detectival!

Thanks for Reply Adam, Have checked both connections at coil end and control box end still have a problem. Pity as I like the Legend its been working fine.
In that case, contact the Nokta service centre for your region. They'll be able to do some more in-depth troubleshooting with you and figure out the problem. If it's faulty they'll be able to get it replaced quickly. Nokta's aftercare is the best in the business. You'll be well looked after 😊👍
Hi Adam, It was good to meet you at the Nokta stand at Detectival on Saturday. You showed me the kit you use to record videos - harness and microphone - please can you share the make and model numbers? Your videos are top quality. Thanks, Neil (Oxfordshire)
Hi Neil, It was nice meeting you. It's not often I get asked about the recordings equipment! The harness isn't branded. If you search for "mobile phone chest harness" on Amazon it's just the generic one that comes up. Roughly £12 from memory. The mic I use is the Rode SmartLav, although that's probably overkill really. Any Lavalier mic with a wind muff on will do the job fine 😊👍
Great video - thanks for the unbiased factual review. It's amazing what a software update can do 👍 Do you know if even the oldest Legends can be updated to the latest firmware? Cheers 👌
Hi Tristan, Thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, any Legend of any age can be updated directly to the latest software version 👍 Nokta are really amazing with their aftermarket service and updates for their machines 😃 Happy hunting!
Can't wait,I have the new generation legend, with lk30 coil on its way to me as we speak. I was using a garrett atpro but found it to difficult to use especially in the pro settings. And honestly, I probably would never figure all those settings and tricks out. I was looking at the simplex, but was lucky enough to afford the legend. I'm trying to watch a lot of videos on the legend to have some idea of what all it does. I'll check out your other videos. Thanks
Does lowering the IF setting decrease the depth of the machine? I was under the impression that less filtering increased the depth. Much like all metal mode. Thanks for the great videos.
Hi Curtis, In short, yes. You're lowering the value on the screen but that increases the iron filtering. Bit too complicated to explain easily here and I appreciate it seems counterintuitive but it does make sense 🙂👍
Hello Adam from New Hampshire USA Love your content! Didn’t you have a video on your editing techniques? I’m having trouble finding it. Keep up the good work and thanks
Thanks Dennis! Really appreciate the nice words 😊 Best way to find those videos is to find my 'Detecting Under Lockdown' playlist and scroll down the the two videos called 'Behind the scenes'. One covers filming and the other editing on Hitfilm. Hope you find them useful! 😎😊👍
That depends very much on your detecting intentions. If you're going out for 6-8 hours or less, the internal battery should be fine. If you're going away for weekends or don't want to charge the machine after each use, the external battery is really handy. The LG15 coil is brilliant at getting into small places, around stubble etc. It's also good on parks and beaches but the coverage is minimal. If you decide the Pro Pack isn't for you, take a look at one of the bigger aftermarket coils as an alternative 😀
Hi Adam, I have acquired the latest Nokia Legend recently. I have watched your video on You Tube regarding the basic stet up. My questions are can you input the different settings under each field and will they be stored as long as the coil is disconnected. Regards Geoff King
Hi Geoff! The machine will retain the last used settings until your next hunt...as long as the battery doesn't drain completely or a factory reset isn't performed. The coil has no impact on this at all. You can also set up to 4 user profiles with specific settings and choose between them if you wish. Hope that helps! Happy hunting!

Hi! No difference at all. Nokta Makro changed their name to Nokta in 2022. Machines made before this will say Nokta Makro, and machines made after this will say Nokta. It's the same machine 'under the hood' 👍
Hi Mike! Yes. I held the prototype at Detectival last month. Single button operation, LCD display, 100% waterproof and links with the Legend. It'll be called the Acu-Point. Exact release date not currently known but shouldn't be long 😊👍
Honestly I tend to keep the IF at 8 unless I know I'm in an iron-infested area. If it's lightly iron-peppered I'll probably drop to 5 or 6 and if it's heavy down to 3 or 4. It's still a relatively new feature so still some learning curve to travel with it until I'm 100% confident. It certainly performs well, though!
Hi Adam, I recently bought a Nokta Makro Legend. I'm having a problem when I start via on button. Screen Loads shows Ld then start screen appears for a minute or so, then CC appears on screen and detector shuts down. Can't see any trouble shooting that gives me solution. Can you advise on fix. Thanks
Hi Donald, Sorry to hear you're having trouble. A 'CC' error relates to the coil connection. Check the connector for debris or damage and re-attach, making sure to press it in, tighten the collar, press it in further and so on until it's fully engaged.
Hi John! The Legend is easily the better detector between the two. It's really a couple of tiers above at least. It's simple to use and navigate but you need to be prepared for a learning curve. It's not a 'turn-on-and-go' machine like the Simplex, for example. If you're happy to read the manual a couple of times and be patient with it (feel free to ask me anything!), then the Legend will be an amazing machine for you 😊👍
