Gold Nuggets everywhere: this area has never been detected!

- So many Gold Nuggets in one day!
We found an area in the Pilbara that has never seen a metal detector before! We just arrived in a new spot and expected having to prospect for several days before getting to a good spot but we found it after only two kilometers of walking on the first day. Screaming targets in a remote gully revealed plenty of chunky gold nuggets (and also a few bullet casings). Days like these are sooo good and make detecting a lot of fun but unfortunately these areas are hard to find nowadays.
We enjoy prospecting and detecting and hope for more spots like this. In the meantime we keep walking those hills and creeks and we keep digging those targets.

Im aware that you are an experienced detectorist but for viewers who are beginners to detecting; If you keep the handful of dirt that shows a signal on the coil you then have to rescan your discard pile because you may have just chucked away a 2nd find whereas if you **only discard the handful that has NO signal in it** - you don't. It's a timesaver & prevents mistakes. Great Day for you : )
That's why you should detect the hole AND the pile of thrown out dirt before moving on. Heaps quicker than checking both hands every time you get a signal 👍🏻

There would have been a lot of gold lying around back in the day but they needed a lot with gold only paying a fracture compared to nowadays.

When you turn your pin pointer on, have it touching the ground off to the side from your target and it will ground balance to the existing soil. Then scan the area of the target. It will be much more sensitive.
Great effort in finding that virgin gully.

I reckon gloves are a good thing to use. They give your hands some protection from the sun and also the harsh rocks and soil imho.

Don’t forget the best spots are at the base of trees and shrubs but make sure you take a couple of minutes and make sure there aren’t any snakes hiding from you in the shrubs and in the trees above your eye sight because you are always watching your machine.
Always try to be aware of your surroundings, have walked upon snakes due to being too focused on the coil. 🍀⛏
Gday, good job, just starting out prospecting myself, what did you end up having for lunch? so you just have your base camp[whatever that is, caravan or something] nearby and walk around that area and when done pack up camp to move to somewhere else?
I am an inexperienced amateur with an old minelab detector. A plastic scoop is one of the best tools you need! you pass the rubble from around the target over the detector; if no noise throw away. just keep doing that until you find it!
It seems to be a personal preference: scoop or hand. We prefer using our hands ✋🏻✋🏻

ive hunted the beaches for years averaging 150gr a year.whats the average in the outback if your detecting 100 days a year.thanks mike
We both started detecting gold in the Qld goldfields. The beach would be a much nicer "office". Some years the gold take would be not much more than yours. Thanks for watching, Mick 👍

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Those are nice chunks. the hill doesn't look that tall so where did they come from? Was it a massive flood or is that just coming out of that host Rock up the hill from the ravine?
we searched every hill around those gullies and found nothing up there. probably eroded from deep leads. thanks for joining us, david 👍🏻

Welcome to the channel 💛👍Usually a bath in hydrochloric acid does the job, however these ended up having ironstone throughout and required crushing.
