Im aware that you are an experienced detectorist but for viewers who are beginners to detecting; If you keep the handful of dirt that shows a signal on the coil you then have to rescan your discard pile because you may have just chucked away a 2nd find whereas if you **only discard the handful that has NO signal in it** - you don't. It's a timesaver & prevents mistakes. Great Day for you : )
That's why you should detect the hole AND the pile of thrown out dirt before moving on. Heaps quicker than checking both hands every time you get a signal 👍🏻
Hello mate, I'm a new subscriber and I love watching your channel. I have a question for you, do you cover up the hole 🕳 after digging? Safety for trail 👣 hikers.
When you turn your pin pointer on, have it touching the ground off to the side from your target and it will ground balance to the existing soil. Then scan the area of the target. It will be much more sensitive.
Oh how I envy you both. I wish there were places to detect in Alabama USA. there's gold here but not like there. Sooo envious! Keep on digging up that beautiful gold!
I am an inexperienced amateur with an old minelab detector. A plastic scoop is one of the best tools you need! you pass the rubble from around the target over the detector; if no noise throw away. just keep doing that until you find it!
Oli.....what a spot.....hit`em up for a collaboration video and if they bite its my idea and you're taking me with you....I'm not jessica.....I pee standing up🙃
Gday, good job, just starting out prospecting myself, what did you end up having for lunch? so you just have your base camp[whatever that is, caravan or something] nearby and walk around that area and when done pack up camp to move to somewhere else?
I don't know how I found your show, but it's infectious! I'm almost totally deaf and can't hear most of the signals but love to watch what comes out! Do they have detectors that vibrate instead of making a tone?
Thanks for stumbling on to our channel Bob. Sorry you can't here the signals, Krissy spends allot of time to make sure the subtitles are correct, unfortunately we can't replicte the sound of gold from the detector in the subtitles. There was someone a few years ago developing a light on the detector that came on when you got a target, vibration would be a better way to convey different responses though and since pinpointers already have a vibrating function, adapting to a detector should be a possibility. 👍
@@OutbackGoldFever Sub titles are great and easy to follow. I didn't know pin pointers vibrate, that's so cool. I used to hunt nuggets when I was able to hear.
