I went to a community college, there was nothing to be ashamed about it. It was a commute but a good experience for me ( this was 52 years ago). At least nobody was shooting at me at that time.

thank you for this video! As a transfer it feels as if we have to know everything about the college experience when that is not the case.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Lots of good advice. You said you flew home often...can you recommend best way to get from LAX to campus? Did you Uber or a shuttle of some kind? What did you find was most convenient. Thanks!

I usually asked friends from the floor or would uber. There is a bus that goes from LAX to downtown Westwood! Either is recommended but uber is more expensive, especially during rush hour. I traveled with a lot of equipment so it was always more convenient to Uber. Hope this helps!

I wanted to ask how hard were the classes there? Were all north campus majors competitive? Was there grade deflation?

Thank you for the question! I will address this in a separate video but in short - the courses were certainly challenging but with new studying habits, attending office hours, setting up study groups, etc. It is certainly possible to maintain your GPA! You may experience the "transfer curve" or some grade deflation the first quarter as you adjust to life at UCLA but once you gain your footing, you shouldn't have an issue with the grading system after that (depending on the professor).

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can make a video on the Pros and Cons of Community College and Transfering. Would you mind telling me a bit about your experience so I can touch on it in the video?

Fellow transfer here! I graduated college in 2019 but transferring was one of the best decisions I made for myself in college (and maybe my life lol). I made a my college experience vid recently about my journey too so would love if you would check it out :)
