Excellent video my friend 5 Stars ✨ Beautiful Indy’s you purchased … I actually bought two pair that were brand new in the box off of eBay so you never know what you might find and they were my size 10 D…. I got a deal on both…. I did purchase one pair directly from Shoe Mart…. Two pair have the 360 welt and my 405’s the 270…Enjoy those boots…..They are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn, I love them… Oh and I also live in northern Indiana…. Lol Greg
What About the "Wested Leathers'' version of the Indy ? Weston (RoseAnvil)brought to our attention and gave it some pretty high marks. I was actually looking into this boot pretty seriously because they are within a reasonable price-range. Keep in mind I'm very new to heritage boots and GYW footwear in general. I mean I've worn boots all my life practically; but most of them were military issue and even after that I was just looking for comfortable and protective steel-toed boots. So maybe I am not seeing the reason you didn't bring up the Wested leather version. I mean , they do seem like more of a novelty than maybe a truly good boot. Let me know your thoughts Bryan. I'm not really a fan of the Alden indy's and watching Rose Anvil's reviews on them didn't increase my desire for them although this video makes me more attracted to them after seeing a good worn-in Biker beater boot example. thanks
Eventually I think I would send those boots to Bedo's Leatherworks and have him do a number on them.... Steve could really make those boots look fantastic... He's a big fan of the Indy's..... I'm sure you know of his UA-cam channel... Greg
Calling a 16 year old pair of boots low quality is an oxymoron. Alden is extemely high quality. The Rose Anvil Full Grain Snob Cult has kinda ruined the boot world. Split leather insoles are superior imo, and leatherboard works better than full grain for some purposes. Alden has always made the most comfortable boots in the world, and they last for decades....so they are the definition of high quality. Stainless steel is more durable than full grain leather, so why not use it for the midsole and insole? Because durability isn't the main factor. Has the leatherboard failed in 16 years? Have the insoles melted? They're more than durable, plus more flexible and less prone to warping and water rot.
@@jj4483love you make some great points. I do have to admit I’ve been influenced by the full grain people but you’re right, picking the right materials for the job is more important than the most durable.
Couldn’t agree more and worth every penny…! I’m an old timer now and I have never bought a pair until I finally broke down last year and now I own 3 pairs!! I’ll never wear any of them out and I’ll never buy another brand…. I wish I had more time but I know one thing, the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned many…..I love the Alden Indy boot… My favorite all-time boot and comfort for me is off the charts….. It’s the most comfortable boot I have ever worn and I live in Indiana too … LOL ❤️💯👍
Weston Kay is a paid salesman. He discredits products which do not pay, then endorses whomever pays him. Right after he gave Indy Boots a bad review, he promoted the HuckBerry moc toe lookalike. If you believe Rose Anvil, you would be wearing Rock Rooster. He's entertainment.
O'Connells Clothing in Buffalo has a couple Indy configurations that resemble these. I have no affiliation with them.
Your right! They have one in Reverse Chamois Tobacco. Thanks for the tip.

@@Crackers2549 thanks so much!
Those boots are an amazing find. I am shocked that they are 16 years old! You know I'm a huge Parkhurst boot guy.
@@chefrichh thanks! They have held up great. I’ve got to get my hands on some Parkhurst boots soon.
@@YouShoe-1985 I don't think you'll be disappointed.
That boot was made in 2008 and I’m assuming was not resolved yet. That’s impressive. Get em resoled and you can book another 16 years.
I bet Trenton and Heath would love to get their hands on these boots for a resole video.
@@MrCander000 I’d be happy to send them to those guys, they do amazing work

This is the correct answer.

Sounds like the new ones aren’t worth half what they charge. Vintage seems the way to go with Alden Indy’s
