Very humble and respectful guy. Love how when Kirby mentions how detailed his measurements are compared to other artisans, he just plays it down and talks about his way of doing things instead of trying to compare himself or put himself above other artisans.

Because 90% of those measurements are pretty much complete BS. If he really needed such a detailed measurement system to make the shoes he would simply invest in a foot scanning device. Most of this is really just for show.

With the money he spends on suits I'd spend sometime working with a Kelly Starette type mobility specialist and fix them in a few months. Mr. Allison...you have tremendous expertise and great knowledge of traditional and current styling, but I was wondering why the length of the inside narrow portion of your tie exceeded the length of the wider portion, which is supposed to conceal that smaller segment?
None of us will present ourselves perfectly every day, as sometimes our best is truly wonderful, and other days, it may suck. But, as long as we do our best for that day, then that should be acceptable.
For me, being of shorter stature, I have to take care not to have my tie, look like yours. I do have some custom suits, but just couldn't see at this point in my life of spending huge sums on shoes. However, I have learned quite a bit from your channels, and appreciate that you are extremely knowledgeable, and seem to be a very good person. I wish you the very best. Kirby with videos like these that resemble asmr’s i think you should play the whole raw footage instead of cutting scenes out for the sake of keeping the video shorter or more interesting

Jeez, you’d think they’d have a platform for the client to stand on. His trousers, knees and back must be killing him.

Yep, that's always the first thing that leaps to my mind while watching measurement clips like this. And not only in comfort terms - watching a top-notch lastmaker in a classy setting like this who is creeping on the floor seems almost undignified to me. It's beyond me that these specialists don't have a proper piece of furniture for this common work step ...

@@atavistus That's an interesting thought. It would have to be some sort of platform with steps. Could be restrictive. You could just scan the foot in and have all the measurements there. But as Nicholas Templeton said, the hand measurements add to the 'bespoke' experience.

Never seen Kirby so quiet as when he was being measured. You can tell he's really engrossed in the process.

Why dont they have like a raised platform or something they can stand on so he doesn't have to be on his hands and knees?

Hey Kirby, fascinating insight into how a bespoke shoe fitting is carried out.
There’s just one thing. Is it possible that you can tell me the make of watch Tony Gaziano was wearing.

Do bespoke shoe makers make many shoes for females? Or things like high heels?

They definitely make shoes for women, but with a slightly larger heel than a fashion high heel.

I bought very expensive shoes in the past that I only wore once because of the discomfort.
Tailor made shoes may seem a luxury but it should give incredible results in matters of comfort.

I'm very surprised that after 150 years of measuring for bespoke footwear. The practice is still to lay on the ground. Instead of having some type of pedestal for the gentleman to stand on. Just a question. Best wishes Kirby. I greatly enjoy your content.👏🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼

I'm sitting here watching the amount of detail in the measurements and how he's saying things about the physiology of the foot; almost pediatrist level notations. If I ever had several thousand dollars to blow on a plane ticket to buy a pair of shoes it would be from this guy.
