Good Video - would love to see Urban Wolf Club vs BLKBRD comparison as they are in similar price tiers, similar specs, and similar styles to hear your thoughts on which is worth buying over the other. Keep up the good work!
@@MrOmnisaurus thanks good idea
Is the glossy leather still available? I see only the suede/nubuck in that color at the website.
Are you not worried about damaging the heel counter?
@@illustriouscrag if I’m carful it shouldn’t be a problem but if I rush it I will damage it
I'm a 10 and went a half size down. Pray for me LOL. Can't wait to see these arrive.
@@kottyking you should be fine 😀
What do you think about sizing? I am 12D brannock on the dot. I don't like overly tight fighting. Any suggestions?
How is the comfort?
@@watchmanexpert it’s ok not great. It’s angles down a little to much.
@ yes I heard in another video the same … I will pass until they fixed the heel angle. Thanks
How high is the heel ? 1.5 inch ?
How is the sizing compared to grant stone?
@@istoikiskeptik with the slimmer last on the colt boot I would size a half up from my GS Leo size.
You are making amazing video content. I just watched the video and your video quality is appreciable. I am so impressed by your content, I was analyzing your channel and noticed that You are struggling with video views and video ranking. May I share some tips on how you can achieve your goals
Are we getting to see the insides of the urban wolf club
Yeah soon I promise
@ okok. I believe you. Great content Thank you
@youshoe you know these are at some alden online retailers like alden madison and ealdwine, just different makeups
Which boot is more comfortable, this Ottawa or your Brass Boot?
@@ringaleavo Ottawa. Mostly because CXL leather is a little more comfortable then the veg tan leather
Hasn’t he done Truman and Parker?
Deep discount , no return
So many cool boots and boot companies these days. Great pick up! Shout out to Luosjiet!
As I see it in the comments, you have two types who watch your channel. Boot snobs who are out of touch with the Everyman and the Everyman who aspires to have the best quality they can afford. As the latter, I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for breaking down the value. 👍
I don't own any Trumans and probably won't buy any but those "snobs" you mentioned are just regular people with money to spend. They ARE the everyman, except in your own mind. They just know what they want. You're the one who elevated them to something else. There's nothing wrong with just being honest and saying you can't afford something, or it's out of your price range. Not everyone is looking to spend the least amount possible.
@ Thanks for the enlightenment. I really appreciate it. 😊
NIce video and nice commentary but I'll be honest... I prefered the previous colour :) The new colour tone is nice for sure but it now also looks a lot less distinctive and unique to my eye. However that's just my subjective opinion of course and if you're happy, I'm happy! 🖖
This is gamble that could have ended badly on live UA-cam. But I think it paid off. 👍
This was fun to watch. This type of comparison was interesting. Let's say there are three cost categories: materials, labor, overhead. To isolate the cost difference related to materials alone, I look at boots made from the same maker. I've noticed that for the makers I've looked at, the difference in their prices for some generic leather versus brands like W&C, Horween, CFS, Shinki, Maryam, etc. is literally hundreds of dollars -- attributed to the leather alone, based on my thinking. A maker that enjoys relatively cheaper skilled labor and facility costs, while still able to make a quality product, has the advantage of offering lower prices, no matter the industry. I enjoy finding the quality makers that offer reasonable prices.
My Trumans in brown double shot captoe are great but even using their sizing guide they're just a hair tight in the toebox...I'd like another pair but not sure if I should go wide (11.5 E on the Brannock) or up a half size. The welt and overall finishing on Trumans are really nice.
Really enjoying your channel and discovering these lesser known companies that may represent good value. I've heard good things about Miles and Louie if you want to check them out. I also have an order in production from Craft and Glory. I'll be getting my first pair from Urban Wolf shortly!
@@GSpotFrenzy Thanks so much, I will check them out.
I own both Truman and UWC and ill give the W to UWC. Truman wins in leather selection but UWC is close to the build quality for literally 1/3 of the price. UWC is the winner for me but like you said, just having fun.
Nice vid. I note that on the cheaper boots sometimes the rubber heel is sometimes thin. I pass often on such boots going for danite soles etc as I'm hard on shoes. I wore though a cheap thin heel if a few weeks. Noting that you rightly compare the soles on the wolf club and truman boots. Well done
@@jamesrice9412 thanks!
@YouShoe I agree and disagree at the same time, if we look full msrp mostly i agree but if we look at yearly patterns, i have not seen better value as Grant stone Black friday sale discount on Seconds as well as Red Wing seconds sale at around black friday in Berkeley supply. I always saw 3-5 options for my size( which is not stocked well (11d)) and additional sizes added in every week or so from around mid November.
@@jseskausk good point
@ just to ad on the point, Red wings and Grant stone even in seconds match most manufacturers firsts and 160-195 usd is super hard to beat (for even indian or mexican brands) even when these are made in usa or sold by usa brand.
Veg tanned leather is hard to source from America? Somebody please comment on that.
That's not strictly true as W&C actually allows low volume orders. But for internal vege tan leathers (which are thicker and a lot more rigid) yes it's hard to source from American made after oak bark tanned leather (not to be confused with oak tanned leather) died out.
@@chinatownboy7482 Where are other shoe companies getting leather from?
Is the UWC color brass? It looks like it has a shine, different than on the site.
@@ryanteigne901 great question. I oiled my boots and that’s why they look different. I made a video on it if you want to check it out.
Watch out Thursday, two new players on the board Urban wolf club, and Craft and Glory
You wore those urban wolf club boots a ton. There is some good boot makers in Leon Mexico. I just bought a pair of Christian Daniel boots. Very premium quality, Viberg level quality.

Is your urban wolf club boot customized? I don't see the ungodly huge logo on yours like the one on their website.

KnittyProfessor.👍🤘 If the Truman is not in your price range this is a good alternative.
I absolutely love my UWC boots. I got the axeman boot that is black and grey leather. Seriously great value and boot. If you're looking for a VERY NICE boot for a VERY LOW cost, get some UWC boots.
How’s the width on the Truman’s.. I’m a 9.5 d on the GS Leo last and fit great should I go for the EE heard they run a bit snug on forefoot.
@@noelleon148 I don’t have a problem with the width but I would say get the same size as your Leo last size. If the Leo is a little snug get the EE width
My 79 last Trumans are EE and snug at the ball of the foot. In the future, I would most likely get the 56 last instead. These are great boots.
just checked out Urban Wolf Clubs site and i'm impressed I think i'm going to get a pair of their colt .45s.
@@NonLegitNation2 I love these boots looking to order my second pair soon.
Are the UWC boots tongue gusseted?
according to another comment they aren't but you can request them to be at no extra cost.
UWC will absolutely do rough out and remove the linings if asked.
@@NetworkGeek280 really?? Didn’t know they will do rough out.
@@YouShoe-1985 I was the first rough out boots Fernando made for UWC. He even posted them on his instagram. According to Fernando certain colors they stock work with rough out, and others don't. I wanted the "old copper" leather they offer, but he said it wouldn't work as rough out, (maybe it is split and doesn't have the flesh grain?) but we settled on the standard copper color.
We are indeed having fun
@@nikg6976 Always
I ordered a pair thanks to you, however there is some wait time apparently. Been a few weeks since paying and have yet to hear from UWC regarding the order. Hope they come in soon!
@@Retrakk I’m sure they are coming they just have a lot more business then they can handle.
@@YouShoe-1985 Yep! I'm not too concerned. Looking forward to seeing them.
I love my 10 eyelet Urban Wolf Axeman... they fit great and are comfortable, even though they are not fully broken in yet. Love the value... they will even customize the boot at no extra cost. For mine, I asked for speed hooks at the top (instead of an eyelet) and a gusseted tongue. The leather is nice, like a chrome excel, but I think it is tanned locally.
@@1htalp9 Chromexcel is what Horween calls it. Any tannery can replicate the tanning process.
Nice shoutout to the nitty professor. Still got my Urban Wolf Club's Axe Man model on order, I knew they were busy leading up to the holiday break. Not sure how busy they are now that they are back (since jan 6th). But I am ...somewhat patient.
@@cowcrapper I’m sure they’re coming
i had read that their usa boots are made in Arkansas.
@@bobjohnson6321 yeah that’s what they say.
I was just looking at their side-zip Major. The cap toe feels off to me. I have always seen the cap toe on dress shoes. When it is on a boot, it looks like worn-down hobo shoes.
Great video! Been looking for this model a while now, but I have read that they fit narrower than the Captains. In your experience, are they narrower? Would you advice going 1/2 size up?
I didn’t notice it being tighter than my captain’s I just noticed they need to be broken in. BUT I do think whenever you’re unsure it’s best to size up.
Yep these are the best value moc toe.
Yellow laces.
If you can't find Made in USA boots when they go on sale, you are doing something wrong. Thorogood, Allen Edmonds, 1000 Mile Boots ..... All go on sale . just my opinion: I would rather own Corcoran Jump Boots in that price range.
