- Hi guys, in this video i will be showing you how to dye your hair with semi and how it comes out. Titanium is a very popular color by Ion sold by Sallys. Sally discontinued this color for a long time and now they have brought it back because it is such a pretty color and everyone is asking for it. SO IT IS BACK GUYS!!!!!
Remember your hair needs to be pre-lightened to a very light blonde to platinum or lighter. if you want to see a video of pre-lightening please live a comment below!

I never knew you're supposed to shampoo it out. I just lather it on my head and rinse. The color on you is great.
Hi thanks for watching my video and for the complement! Well you don't have to, you are supose to but I don't recomend it because a regular shampoo might rinse most of the color out. But the one I used is purple so instead of washing away color it maintains the color for longer.... and a little trick if you leave the purple shampoo on for an hour it will also turn gray, even if you didn't have gray hair before... but its only if the hair is like a pale blonde

Yes eventually it will fade back to blonde. It may take around 6 or more washes the more you wash it the faster it fades. The only problem is if your hair is a golden blonde the titanium might turn out greenish instead of a pure gray color. but if it turns a perfect titanium your good until it starts to fade... when it starts to fade it will also turns green.

They brought it back but Idk why they haven't been coming in ,,, once again! There's nothing in the sallys I work either and I've asked in the sallys near me and they haven't received either. So my guess they might discontinue Titanium again. But don't get bummed girlfriend there's a new pretty silver by manic panic called blue steel and it's a beautiful color you should check that one out!

hello. i dyed my hair with the same product and some of my hair (brass color prior to coloring) is not the grey color i wanted. if i dye it again with the same product, do u think it will turn grey?

That color looks very nice on you. You say it looks pretty blue, which we can't see on camera. Do you know if there is anything you can add to the dye to make it less blue?
Ashley Elder don’t use purple shampoo or conditioner which could be turning it blue also maybe apply a red base color but just a like tinge
😤 I use(d) this, and I have blueish tints. Got over the blond thing & trying to let my hair breath more. But I don't think my hair even knows what to think anymore. I accidently stained my hair purple w/ purple shampoo before hand. The Sally folks said this would blend everything in. It didn't. They said use developer. I did, twice. It's still blue ish, greyish, blondish 😭. 🤔🤷 At least I'm just using this w/ keratin conditioner tho... & It's not drastically contrasting. I concocted an orange shampoo, conditioner mix. But 🤷 I get too paranoid about leaving it in too long. And I don't really know if it's even helping (me using it while showering).

I'm in the middle of bleaching and making my boyfriend hair grey he has the same haircut like you and we did a bleach and he hair is pale yellow but he had an allergic reaction to the bleach so I was not able to use the toner we got so we were looking for something ammonia and peroxide free.
Heyy ! Thanks! Well sometimes I so get reactions from the bleach as well I just put some coconut oil on the scalp and around the skin that got irritated and I let my hair rest for a whole day and I continue the process the next day with amonia .... but if you don't want amonia you can buy the purple shampoo and apply on dry hair as if applying hair dye so do not lather just apply and leave it in for around an hour. The hair will look purple while it's in but don't get scared it will not turn purple unless you leave it in for a looonger time. The purple shampoo works just like a toner but it takes longer to get the yellow away because no amaonia. But that's exactly why instead of just washing your hair we r going to leave it in the hair for an hour. When you wash it off it could look very pale blonde or silvery gray and just keep repeating as many times you want. ;D

If your hair was pretty yellow before applying it, most likely. Your hair most be as light as possible that way the mix of adding blue to yellow will cause green like when you mix paint. Therefore even if you acomplish getting gray once it's start's fading it will turn greenish..... soon defenetly try to have it pretty light ✌

Tukitukifresh, I had to reapply the Titanium because old dyed blonde was starting to peek through. It is really dark and some parts look good old navy blue. I used heat this time to set the color because Ion's instructions are to use heat if previously colored.
Now that I look like I have black and blue hair (tried baking soda and lemon juice, didn't work this time) (tried bleach and hot water and got a got a hot mess of reddish brown in a matter of minutes--who knew?), any ideas on lightening it without a second process? Shampoo like crazy? Shave it all off and really disturb my neighbors?

Sorry, Titanium. I've washed it several times and it's fading fast. I found combing it straight back it it hides alot of the navy/purple/brown. I put the Titanium over dyed blonde hair. I should have removed the blonde first. I'd just love it if the color you have was on my head.

Hi Ana Marie! I already tried it in diferent shades of blondes to see how it comes out. The results on yellowish blonde wich is what you usually get with one bleach... well nothing happened when I put the dyed on. And the light blondes come out greenish. I would like to know what color your hair is to see if I can help you out more! About the purple shampoo you don't really need it, but it's better if you do because it will get rid of the bracines (yellow tones in the hair) making it each time more light,even and pretty. The purple shampoo is more for blondes and white hair to take that bracines go away, but if you leave it for too long it start turning gray. So it's a great way too refresh your color without chemicals.
+tukitukifresh ok thank you so much! and well first of all,I had this ion blue in my hair,then I bleached it so now the blue turned to and icy blue and my roots turned blonde,the semi permanent dye is still in (icey blue color) and bits of my hair looks like a white and I only bleached it once after the dark blue and some parts are white...my hair is naturally medium dark brown,so how many bleaches do u think it'll take to achieve a light enough color to dye it silver?
How long did it last?
My daughter has 'medium dark' blonde hair and wanted a dip ends effect. She put on 1/2 a tube of the titanium and waited 40 minutes. It didn't do anything. She tried again and it looked medium-dark grey but it washed right out. We tried bleaching her hair in a couple of spots with lemon juice in 1 and hydrogen peroxide in 1. Nothing happened after 40 minutes. We bought a bleaching agent, which lightened it then she used the titanium AGAIN. It washed out but left the bleached area very faintly dirty grey. What are We doing wrong? She followed the steps,etc. Help.
The hair wasn't light enough to pick up the silver, also you should try leaving it on for 60 minutes or longer. While the dye is on, check every 10-20 minutes to see if there is any hair falling out, if there isn't much falling then it's safe to leave on for longer. Don't wash it out with hot water, instead use cool/room temperature water. :) You can also try a color seal in later.
If it's a semi permanent then leave it on longer than a permanent.
Mine looks really dark after washing out the dye it’s still wet I’m hopping it loooks lighter when it dries did yours come out super dark too at first since you only showed the result after two washes???:0:(

use sulfate free + purple conditioner/shampoo when washing out product to uphold color
maintenance: sally's products to eliminate brassy colors are recommended to keep up the gray color

Okay so my biggest question is should I bleach my hair to apply this or no? Because my hair is half red and half fusha pink & I don't like bleaching my hair but if I have too what are great methods to bleach my hair without to much damage?
Yes defenetly you need to bleach your hair specially with the colors you have right now ... honestly is going to be extremely dificult to get this color with the pink and red going on. They are completely opposite colors... it's difficult but not imposible! ... about bleaching it well yiu can try a color remover first instead of bleaching... this is how I get all my colors out, it's better to do a color remover first because the color remover will bring all the color out of your hair instead of lightening. Basically leaving the hair virgin with no hair dye whatsoever. With the bleach what is going to do is just lighten that color that yiu have already so the pink will probably end up like a peach color and the red is going to end up like a pinkish oragy color and that's when you have to bleach the hell out of it because it's not really taking the color out, it's just lightening. So I recomend doing a color remover wich is also more gentle than a bleach and once the color is out I would do a mild bleach to lighten the color that you get from the color remover wich should be the lightest color you've ever been... the brand I use for color remover is ION they sell it at Sallys and a good bleach you can get at Sallys as well is quik blue. I wish I could explain this better to you hehe ... but if you have any more questions ps let me knw

I bleached my hair and it turned a light Orange. Is that light enough for me to use this color ??
And would my hair be damaged if I bleach my hair twice in one day ??
+Hector Ventura no you want a very pale yellow otherwise it could have a green tint. Also, I do not recommend doing 2 bleach s in a day. I put coconut oil on my hair and let it sit for about 2 hours then put the bleach on top. My hair feels great and my scalp hardly burns

yes or else it won't do anything to your hair. you have to have a pale blonde with no orange or brassy tones

i ordered this hair color and where i want to dye my hair (the ends), my hair is a golden, ash blonde color, would i have to lighten it anymore?
Hey! Well I am a little confused because either is golden or is ash. Ash is the complete opposite of golden in other words if you have golden hair you apply ash and it gets rid of the golden. So right now I'm not sure if your hair is actually golden or ash but it can't be both. I'm going with gut feeling and say is golden blonde (if is ash blonde you will have no problem you can just apply it but it might take more than one time) but if is golden you need to take as muh of the Golden out and that's by using ash. Toners are to take away yellow,golden etc. You can find them at Sallys best one you can get is T18 or T14 you mix them with 20 volume developer ONLY! Leave it in for about 30mins then wash off then apply titanium !

You can heavily dilute it with their hair dye diluter or conditioner. :)

Well there is another color wich i was surprise because it came out very pretty, very light and almost no blue base it's called blue steel by manic panic. Don't get scared of the name or color in the bottle the color it's truly beautiful.

I've reapplied the dye twice now but it's just not turning grey, I was told to pre bleach it and I did but the dye just isn't working.. I really want this color but I don't know how to make it work
Hi! Well Idk exactly what color your hair is right now so I can't tell you exactly what to do, as long as your hair is atleast light blonde all we have to do is get rid of the yellow or golden in the hair
tukitukifresh to do that you will need toners. T14 and T18 from (Wella color brilliance) are the best one for what we are trying to acomplish. A good thing about toners is if you live it in for longer than instructed it will start turning gray! So live it for about 30mins more at this point the titanium should take. And I would defenetly recommend the purple shampoo. Another thing is if you leave the purple shampoo in for about an hour it should start turning gray as well, this is actually how I die my extensions just with purple shampoo. If you want exact details for every step and product and were to get it and for what prices let me know maybe I can send it to you in an email or something ;) I am super experience with gray, silver hair and know on many diferent ways to achieve it.

What color does it fade to I don't wanna end up with some greenish color
It just fades into a lighter gray but if you spend tooo much time without retouching the purple base from the gray will start to fade completely pulling the bracines from the blond underneath that's what starts making it look green. But it does take a long time to appear. I didn't really have the green problem.
What would happen if i mixed the titanium dye with developer?
It's not recomended by instruccions, but I have mixed the titanium with other hair dye that requires peroxide, so basically your mixing it with peroxide. Although I've only done that with 10vol developer wich is deposit only. I am pretty sure if you mix it with other peroxide it will not grab very well because developer 20vol and up is to lift and deposit the color. Titanium will not lift so it might end up changing the color to a weird purple or blue or mint. Who knows!?
when u rinse the titanium do u use the purple shampoo afterwards
It's better if you let it dry first! Make sure you washed your hair very well because if there is bleach left in the hair it might look like it took the color but when you wash it out, the color will come out too. So wash very very well then let it dry it doesn't have to be completely dry but Not complete wet, so a happy medium. T when apply the color. And yes you can use the shampoo right after. Don't lather with it. Only apply it as if it was a hair dye and let it sit. You can use the shampoo right now that you have blonde hair so that it will take away any yellow left.

If you are not in a hurry apply the purple shampoo as a hair dye and live it in for about an hour. Then rinse and apply the titanium I think this will give way better results.

Amanda yes it’s a semi so no developer neeeded but these are super thick so if you have really long hair ur gonna need a few bottles

byangxo conditioner usually dilutes the color. this dye has mannny blue undertones so when you mix conditioner is tones that down
byangxo what Jayden bleeks said is correct. Sorry for the late reply. Yes the conditioner dilutes the color. For example A lot of people use it to get pastel colors if they can't find it in the store. Even though you'll achieve that, it won't last very long.
I was blondish, added this titanium but my hair looks more purplish than titanium, I was expecting a silverish type look, help? Did I do something wrong or is that how titanium looks 😒

Hi samantha! Well for semi permanent is usually 6 washes, but to me it all has to do with how damage or healthy is your hair. I noddest that I'd you have healthy hair it fades really quikly but if you have damaged hair it stays for alot longer. atleast on my hair is a happy medium it starts getting light after 4 washes. But like I said it has alot to do with the condition of your hair and not only for this color but for most semipermanent hair dyes. ;)
Oh BTW here's anot her trick if you want it to last longer... after you are finish dying your hair you can put a clear/gloss over it creating a barrier, so instead of your color fading it will be the clear fading first, once the clear is gone THEN your color will fade so you can get like 3 more washes out of it... let me known if this helps
+Samantha Piraino it also depends on how long you leave it on your hair. The box says 20-40 minutes, but the longer you leave it the more vibrant it gets (as long as it stays moist so if you're leaving it longer use foils or a cap of some sort). I left salmon on my hair for a couple hours and it's lasted for 3+ months and only recently have I been seeing blonde spots.
will one box do my whole hair?
I don't know the length of your hair ...you can probably figure out how many you need de bending on how many I used in this video so if your hair double the length I have the use double of what I used in this video if it's tripe long the triple the amount I did etc.

How can I get it permanent?
Lachrisha Bibby even permanent hair dye fades after a few washes, semi permanent last a little less. BUT you can do this. After you dye your hair with the semi permanent , wash it dry it and then apply a gloss hair dye. It is clear making your hair look really glossy and healthy. This clear will work as an armor for the actual hair color. So instead of the color fading first, the gloss will actually be the one fading after that theeen the color will start fading. So basically the gloss will work as a barrier making your color last longer.

Yes!! If you use conditioner it dilutes the color for a lighter more pastel look. Since u don't need the developer for this hair dye you can leave it on for as long as you want for a more vibrant look

How long does the color last?
It depends on how damage or healthy your hair is, I've noticed that if it's healthy it last less than if it was damage. My hair was pretty damage at the time from the bleaching and the color would last up to 5 washes. It depends! :)
