Thank you so much for the video. I couldn't figure out how to remove the belt from around the tensioner pully. Thanks to your video , I didn't have to call AAA for a trip to my mechanic.
I am so glad you posted this. Pretty ticked off for 2 hours. This is stupid design to have belt go behind something you can’t get it behind. 2007 tucson 2.7.
I did the same thing today. You have to remove or loosen the boots on the thensioner. The bolts are a mile long so you will likely loosen them. This is the most different vehicle to change a damn belt! All other vehicles it takes 30seconds max. Hyundai: 1 hour 4 tools and a Haynes manual!!
I'm attempting to do this on my Hyundai this weekend. I seem to have access to the bolt shown here on what seems to be to the left of the tensioner. But the one on the right looks more difficult to get to. Am I safe in assuming I'll need a 12 mm socket to loosen the right bolt?
As a matter of interest....why did you have to take the belt off? I have a squeaky pulley and am getting ready to go check then to see what all the noise is about. Just intrigued.
Saved me a whole lot of frustration, sweat, and possibly quiet cursing. Like your tactic! Brilliant.
Ahhhhh !!! Loosen the tensioner , !!! Now i am coming for that belt !! Thanks !!!
Finally! A video that clearly shows where the tensioner is on a 2004 2.7 liter

Try a swivel socket or a closed ended wrench. Those might help

Nine times out of 10 it is the water pump that is a cheap easy fix
I'm Mike this my wife's account.
THANK YOU!!
Thanks man.
What is the belt specification .. ?? I need to replace mine. I can't find the part number
Just go to local part store and give them your year, make, model, and engine size. And you should be good to get replacement belt.
Thanks Bro .. by the way i liked ur accent :)
